Claims (4)
- 第1光導波路と、第2光導波路と、前記第1光導波路に電界を印加する第1電極と、前記第2光導波路に電界を印加する第2電極と、を有する光変調素子と、
前記第1電極と前記第2電極との間の印加電圧を制御する制御部と、を備え、
前記制御部は、
前記光変調素子の半波長電圧をVπ、null点電圧をVnとした際に、動作点VdをVn+0.62Vπ≦Vd≦Vn+0.75Vπ又はVn-0.75Vπ≦Vd≦Vn-0.62Vπとし、
前記光変調素子に印加される印加電圧の振幅である印加電圧幅Vppを0.22Vπ≦Vpp≦0.50Vπの範囲とし、
前記光変調素子から出力される出力光は、一つの周期で極大、極小を繰り返す、光変調器。 - 前記第1光導波路及び前記第2光導波路は、ニオブ酸リチウム膜の第1面から突出するリッジ形状部をそれぞれ含む、請求項1に記載の光変調器。
- 第1光導波路及び第2光導波路と、前記第1光導波路と平面視重なる位置にある第1電極と、前記第2光導波路と平面視重なる位置にある第2電極と、を有する光変調素子の駆動方法であって、
前記光変調素子の半波長電圧をVπ、null点電圧をVnとした際に、動作点VdをVn+0.62Vπ≦Vd≦Vn+0.75Vπ又はVn-0.75Vπ≦Vd≦Vn-0.62Vπとし、
前記光変調素子に印加される印加電圧の振幅である印加電圧幅Vppを0.22Vπ≦Vpp≦0.50Vπの範囲とし、
前記光変調素子から出力される出力光は、一つの周期で極大、極小を繰り返す、光変調素子の駆動方法。 - 前記第1光導波路及び前記第2光導波路は、ニオブ酸リチウム膜の第1面から突出するリッジ形状部をそれぞれ含む、請求項3に記載の光変調素子の駆動方法。
