Description
浮体構造物110は、図2に示すように一辺が数十m~数百mの大きさの矩形状をしたタイル様の浮体ユニット111を縦横に多数連続して繋ぎ合わせたものであり、その一辺の大きさは少なくとも数km~数百kmといった巨大なものとなっている。この浮体ユニット111は、図3に示すようにデッキプレート114とボトムプレート115を複数の支柱117で連結すると共に、そのボトムプレート115の下面(喫水線下)にタンク116を備えた構造となっており、このタンク116の浮力によって十分な浮力を確保した構造となっている。
太陽光発電設備120は、従来のものと同様、図4に示すように多数の太陽電池モジュール(ソーラーパネル)121と、それらを電気的に接続する接続箱122と、発電された電力を制御するパワーコンディショナー(PC)123と、蓄電池124などから構成されている。そして、太陽電池モジュール121で発電された電力をパワーコンディショナー123を介して水分解設備130や水素貯蔵輸送設備140、位置制御設備150などに供給する。そして、その一部の電力は蓄電池124に一時的に貯められて夜間の照明や作業員の生活空間などに活用される。
水分解設備130は、図5に示すように取水部132と、電気分解部133と、これらを制御する制御部131とから主に構成されており、制御部131によって制御される取水部132のポンプなどで汲み上げた海水、あるいは浮体構造物110上に降り注いだ雨水などを集水して電気分解部133に送り、電気分解部133が従来公知の技術によってその原料となる水を分解して水素(ガス)と酸素(ガス)を生成する(2H2O→2H2+O2)。なお、この電気分解に用いる電力は前述したように太陽光発電設備120で発電された電力のみである。
水素貯蔵輸送設備140は、図12に示すように浮体構造物110側に設けられた水素貯蔵部141と、この浮体構造物110から遠く離れた地域(需要地)にある水素回収部142と、この水素回収部142と水素貯蔵部141との間を往復する輸送船143とからなっている。そして、洋上の水素貯蔵部141で図13(A)に示すように有機ケミカルハイドライド法を用いた水素貯蔵法によって水素ガス(H2)を溶媒となる液体のトルエン(C7H8)と反応させてメチルシクロヘキサン(C7H14)として取り込む(水素化(水素貯蔵))。その後、このメチルシクロヘキサンを輸送船143に積み込んで需要地まで海上輸送した後、図13(B)に示すように需要地の水素回収部142がこのメチルシクロヘキサンに取り込まれた水素を取り出して回収する(脱水素(水素発生))。
位置制御設備150は、図17に示すように浮体構造物110の位置を検出する位置検出部151と、浮体移動部152とからなっており、この位置検出部151で検出された位置情報から浮体構造物110が赤道反流海域内に留まるようにその位置を移動制御している。すなわち、位置検出部151はGPS(Global Positioning System)アンテナやその信号を取り出すGPSユニットから構成されており、赤道反流海域の洋上を漂流する浮体構造物110の位置を衛星信号を受信して高精度で検出し、その位置情報を常時あるいは定期的または随時に浮体移動部152に入力している。
また、前述した水素貯蔵輸送設備140と共に、あるいはこの水素貯蔵輸送設備140に代えて図18に示すようなメタン生成設備180を備えることもできる。このメタン生成設備180は、タンク状のメタン生成部181と、同じくタンク状のメタン液化部182とから主に構成されており、前述した水分解設備130で得られた水素(H2)と二酸化炭素(CO2)とを高温高圧下で化学反応させてメタン(CH4)と水(H2O)を生成するようにしたものである

前記ホース群は、その両端が前記ベースフロートに取りつけられ、その途中が深海まで垂下していると共に、前記ベースフロートから深海に至る部分は束ねられており、かつ深海部分は保持板によって各汲上げホース同士が離れていることを特徴とする赤道反流を利用した水素生成プラント。
