本出願は、2015年10月28日に出願された出願番号第62/247,456号を有する「ハンドヘルドモバイル光源(Handheld mobile light source)」という表題の仮特許出願、および2015年10月28日に出願された出願番号第62/247,454号を有する「高出力LED用の埋め込み可能モジュール(Embeddable module for high output LED)」という表題の仮特許出願、および2015年10月28日に出願された出願番号第62/247,451号を有する「高出力LED用の楕円形光学レンズ(Elliptical optical lens for high output LED)」という表題の仮特許出願の優先権を主張し、これらはそれぞれ引用により全部、本明細書に編入する。
本発明は一般に、医療用および工業用内視鏡のような種々の装置に機械的に結合して高強度、低発熱光を提供することができるハンドヘルド照明システム(handheld lighting system)に関する。

Claims (21)
- ハンドヘルド照明システムであって:
近位末端から遠位末端へ延びるハンドヘルドハウジングと、

前記ハウジング内に配置され、そして前記光モジュールに電力を供給するためにそれに電気的に結合している電力モジュールと、および、
光ガイドが光モジュールにより生じる光を受けるように、光モジュールを光ガイドに結合するためにハウジングの該遠位末端に取り出し可能かつ交換可能に配置されたアダプターとを含み、
該光モジュールは該アダプターと隣接し、
前記光モジュールは、
近位末端から遠位末端に延びる中空チャンバーと、
該中空チャンバー内に位置されたレンズであって、光源から光を受ける入力面、および光がレンズを通って出る出力面を備えたレンズ本体を有し、さらに該レンズ本体を少なくとも部分的に囲むカラーを含む、レンズと、
前記中空チャンバー内に配置され、前記レンズに機械的支持を提供するために、前記カラーの遠位末端側および近位末端側で接する、少なくとも一対のスリーブと、および、
レンズを出る光が光モジュールを出る前に光学ウインドを通過するように、前記中空チャンバー内に配置され、そしてレンズの該出力面に光学的に結合した光学ウインドとを含み、そして
光を前記レンズの該入力面に提供するために、光源が前記中空チャンバーに前記近位末端で結合されており、
前記レンズ本体は前記入力面を有する近位セクションおよび前記出力面を有する遠位セクションを含み、かつ、
前記近位セクションが、さらに、遠位セクションに向けられた少なくとも一部の光が、前記出力面を通ってレンズ本体を出るように、前記入力面を介してレンズ本体に入る少なくとも一部の光を受け、そして該受けた光の少なくとも幾らかを内部全反射を介して前記遠位セクションに向ける実質的に楕円形の外周面を含む、
ハンドヘルド照明システム。 - 前記電力モジュールは、前記光モジュールにより生じる光の強度の調整を可能にする請求項1に記載のハンドヘルド照明システム。
- 前記光ガイドが光ファイバーを含む、請求項1ないし2のいずれか1つに記載のハンドヘルド照明システム。
- 前記光モジュールは、光モジュールを前記電力モジュールに電気的に接続するために、光モジュールと電力モジュールとを隔てる前記ハウジングの内壁に突出している一対の電気コネクターを含む、請求項1ないし3のいずれか1つに記載のハンドヘルド照明システム。
- 前記ハウジングは、前記光モジュールを受けるために前記内壁から前記遠位末端に延びる第1エンクロージャーを含む、請求項4に記載のハンドヘルド照明システム。
- 前記ハウジングはさらに、前記電力モジュールを受けるために前記内壁から前記近位末端に延びる第2エンクロージャーを含む、請求項5に記載のハンドヘルド照明システム。
- 前記電力モジュールが回転可能な外殻を含み、殻の回転が前記光モジュールにより生じる光の強度を調整する、請求項1ないし6のいずれか1つに記載のハンドヘルド照明システム。
- 前記ハウジングは、前記電力モジュールを該ハウジングに錠締めするために、前記外殻の端に係合するための保持溝を含む、請求項7に記載のハンドヘルド照明システム。
- 前記電力モジュールは、前記光源に電気的に結合し、そして前記回転可能な殻に機械的に結合した調整可能な電位差計を含み、前記殻の回転が前記電位差計の抵抗に変化を生じ、これにより光モジュールにより生じた光の強度を調整する、請求項7または8に記載のハンドヘルド照明システム。
- 前記ハウジングは熱伝導性材料を含む、請求項1ないし9のいずれか1つに記載のハンドヘルド照明システム。
- 前記ウインドはサファイアウインド、石英ウインドおよびガラスウインドのいずれかを含む、請求項1ないし10のいずれか1つに記載のハンドヘルド照明システム。
- 前記中空チャンバーの遠位末端に配置された複数の外部ネジ山をさらに含む、請求項1ないし11のいずれか1つに記載のハンドヘルド照明システム。
- 前記中空チャンバーの遠位末端に脱着可能に結合するために適合した保持ウインドをさらに含む、請求項12に記載のハンドヘルド照明システム。
- 前記保持ウインドは、中空チャンバーの遠位末端で前記外部ネジ山との係合に適合する複数の内部ネジ山を含む、請求項13に記載のハンドヘルド照明システム。
- 前記保持ウインドは、光モジュールを光ガイドに結合するためのアダプターに結合するための開口部を含む、請求項14に記載のハンドヘルド照明システム。
- ガスケットが前記光学ウインドと前記保持ウインドとの間に配置される、請求項14に記載のハンドヘルド照明システム。
- 上にLEDが配置されるプリント回路基板をさらに含み、前記基板は、電力を前記電力モジュールから前記LEDに適用するために複数の導線を含む、請求項1ないし16のいずれか1つに記載のハンドヘルド照明システム。
- 前記中空チャンバーの近位末端に結合されたプレートをさらに含み、該プレートは前記電力モジュールに結合するために前記導線が延びる複数の開口部を有する、請求項17に記載のハンドヘルド照明システム。
- 内視鏡システムに使用するために構成される、請求項1ないし18のいずれか1つに記載のハンドヘルド照明システム。
- 前記アダプターが、前記光ガイドに結合するように構成されている上側部位と、前記ハウジングの前記遠位末端に取り出し可能かつ交換可能に係合するように構成されている下側部位と、を備える、請求項1~19のいずれか1つに記載のハンドヘルド照明システム。
- 前記アダプターが、複数のアダプターのうちの第1のアダプターであり、前記複数のアダプターの各々が、前記光モジュールを前記それぞれの光ガイドに結合して前記光ガイドが前記光モジュールによって生じる前記光を受けるようにするために、複数の装置のそれぞれの光ガイドに結合するように構成されている上側部位と、前記ハウジングの前記遠位末端に取り出し可能かつ交換可能に係合するように構成されている下側部位と、を有する、請求項1~20のいずれか1つに記載のハンドヘルド照明システム。
