Description

Claims (15)
- 印刷液の液滴を媒体上に分配するためのプリントヘッドであって、前記液滴が前記プリントヘッドから空中を通る液滴経路に沿って移動する、プリントヘッドと、
前記液滴経路を横切って光を放射する光源と、
前記光源から受け取った前記光の強度を検出するための検出器であって、前記液滴経路が前記光源から前記検出器までの光路と交差している、検出器と、
前記液滴経路と前記検出器との間において前記光路上に配置されたコーティングであって、前記コーティングが閾値量の前記光を吸収する、コーティングと
を含む、装置。 - 前記コーティングは、前記検出器に直接付与されている、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記コーティングは、前記光路と交差する均一な厚みを有している、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記コーティングによって吸収される前記光の前記閾値量は、前記厚みによって決定される、請求項3に記載の装置。
- 前記コーティングは、特定のエネルギーを有する光を吸収する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記特定のエネルギーは、前記コーティングの全体に印加される電圧によって調整可能であり、
前記電圧によって、前記コーティングのバンドギャップが調節される。請求項5に記載の装置。 - 前記特定のエネルギーは、前記コーティングの全体に印加される磁界によって調整可能であり、
前記磁界によって、前記コーティングのバンドギャップが調節される、請求項5に記載の装置。 - ノズルを介して印刷液の液滴を吐出し、前記液滴が、空中を通る液滴経路に沿って前記ノズルから受け皿まで移動し、
光源から光路に沿って検出器に光を放射し、前記光路が、前記液滴経路と交差しており、
前記光源からの前記光のうちの第1の部分を前記液滴経路上の前記液滴によって吸収し、
前記光源からの前記光のうちの第2の部分をコーティングによって吸収し、前記第2の部分が閾値量に限定されており、
前記検出器において前記光の強度を検出すること
を含む、方法。 - 前記コーティングによって吸収される光の前記閾値量を調節することをさらに含む、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記閾値量を調節することは、前記コーティングの厚みを変えることを含む、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記第2の部分を吸収することは、特定のエネルギーを有する光子を吸収することを含む、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記特定のエネルギーは、前記コーティングの全体に印加される電圧によって調整可能であり、
前記電圧によって、前記コーティングのバンドギャップが調節される、請求項11に記載の方法。 - 前記特定のエネルギーは、前記コーティングの全体に印加される磁界によって調整可能であり、
前記磁界によって、前記コーティングのバンドギャップが調節される、請求項11に記載の方法。 - 印刷液を受け取るための受け皿と、
媒体の上方の第1の位置から前記受け皿の上方の第2の位置まで移動する可動プリントヘッドと、
前記可動プリントヘッドに配置され、液滴経路を介して印刷液の液滴を前記受け皿に分配するノズルと、
前記液滴経路を横切って光を放射する光源と、
前記液滴が前記光源と検出器との間を移動するときに前記光源から受け取った前記光の強度を検出するための検出器と、
前記検出器に配置されたコーティングであって、閾値量の光を吸収するコーティングと
を含む、装置。 - 前記コーティングが均一な厚みを有しており、前記コーティングによって吸収される前記光の前記閾値量が、前記均一な厚みによる、請求項14に記載の装置。
