図1は、本実施形態に係る表示装置の構成を概略的に示す斜視図である。図1は、第1方向Xと、第1方向Xに垂直な第2方向Yと、第1方向X及び第2方向Yに垂直な第3方向Zによって規定される三次元空間を示している。なお、第1方向X及び第2方向Yは互いに直交しているが、90°以外の角度で交差していてもよい。また、図1の説明においては、第3方向Zを上と定義し、第3方向Zと反対側の方向を下と定義する。「第1部材の上の第2部材」及び「第1部材の下の第2部材」とした場合、第2部材は、第1部材に接していてもよく、第1部材から離れていてもよい。
次に、第2実施形態について説明する。なお、本実施形態に係る表示装置の構成等については、前述した第1の実施形態と同様であるため、適宜、図1~図3等を用いて説明する。

Claims (4)
- 非矩形状に形成された表示領域に複数の画素が配置された表示パネルと、
前記表示領域に画像を表示する表示制御部と
を具備し、
前記複数の画素の各々は、互いに異なる色彩の波長帯域に対応する光を出力する複数の副画素を含み、
前記複数の画素は、画素配列の第1行を構成する複数の第1画素と、当該画素配列において前記第1行と列方向に隣接する第2行を構成する複数の第2画素とを含み、
前記複数の第1画素及び前記複数の第2画素は、同一の色彩の波長帯域に対応する光を出力する副画素同士が前記画素配列の列方向において隣接しないように、当該画素配列の列方向に交互に配置されており、
前記表示領域の端部に配置された第1及び第2画素に含まれる複数の副画素の開口部の大きさは、隣接する2つの副画素単位で、当該2つの副画素が配置された領域に対して当該領域と重畳する前記表示領域が占める割合に基づいて定められる
表示装置。 - 前記定められた大きさの開口部となるように前記2つの副画素が配置された領域と重畳する位置に設けられた遮光層を更に具備する請求項1記載の表示装置。
- 前記複数の副画素は、赤色の波長帯域に対応する光を出力する副画素、緑色の波長帯域に対応する光を出力する副画素、青色の波長帯域に対応する光を出力する副画素及び白色の波長帯域に対応する光を出力する副画素を含む請求項1記載の表示装置。
- 前記2つの副画素は、前記赤色の波長帯域に対応する光を出力する副画素及び前記緑色の波長帯域に対応する光を出力する副画素、または、前記青色の波長帯域に対応する光を出力する副画素及び前記白色の波長帯域に対応する光を出力する副画素である請求項3記載の表示装置。
