Claims (13)
- 電源オフ状態において画像の維持ができる反射型画像ディスプレイ装置であって、
複数の凸状突起を内向き面上に備えた表面を有する光学的に透明なシートと、
正面電極と、
背面電極と、
前記正面電極と前記背面電極との間に含有される媒体と、
前記媒体内で懸濁している、電気泳動で移動する少なくとも1つの帯電粒子と、
前記正面電極と前記媒体の間に配置される第1双安定強化層と、
前記背面電極と前記媒体の間に配置される第2双安定強化層と、
前記媒体全体にバイアス電圧をかけて、前記正面電極と前記背面電極との間に電磁場を形成することにより、前記電気泳動で移動する少なくとも1つの粒子を移動させる電圧源と、
を備え、
前記第1双安定強化層及び前記第2双安定強化層は、多孔質Si02層、及び、
N-プロピルトリメトキシシランの層、
ヘキサデシルトリメトキシシランの層、
3,3,3-トリフルオロプロピルトリメトキシシランの層、
N-トリメトキシシリルプロピル-N,N,N-トリメチルアンモニウムクロライドの層、
(トリデカフルオロ-l,l,2,2-テトラヒドロオクチル)トリメトキシシランの層、
オクタデシルジメチル(3-トリメトキシシリルプロピル)アンモニウムクロライドの層、
3-(ヘプタフルオロイソプロポキシ)プロピルトリメトキシシランの層、
(ヘプタデカフルオロ-1,1,2,2-テトラヒドロデシル)トリメトキシシランの層、
ノナフルオロヘキシルトリメトキシシランの層、及び、

からなる群の中から選択される1つを含み、
前記第1双安定強化層及び前記第2双安定強化層は、前記電気泳動で移動する少なくとも1つの帯電粒子に対して調整された引力を作用させることによって画像の双安定性を向上させる、

- 請求項1から8のいずれか1項に記載の画像ディスプレイを制御するために用いられる命令を含む、有形のコンピュータ可読式非一時的記憶媒体であって、前記命令は、
電極対の一対の対向電極の間に配される透明な媒体内に少なくとも1つの帯電した電気泳動粒子を位置付けることと、
初期バイアス電圧で前記電極対の各電極をバイアスすることによって前記電極間に電磁場を形成して、前記少なくとも1つの帯電した電気泳動粒子を前記電極対の前記正面電極及び前記背面電極に多孔質Si02層をそれぞれ含む前記第1双安定性強化層及び前記第2双安定性強化層を介して引き寄せることと、
0V時又は電源オフ時に前記ディスプレイに前記画像を維持することによって、前記少なくとも1つの帯電した電気泳動粒子の前記電極対の一方の電極から第2の電極への移動を防ぐことと、
