Description
ナノインデンテーション
a)サンプルの用意:光方向付け物品のサンプルを用意した。光方向付け物品は、第1の面(すなわち、表面)と反対側の第2の面(すなわち、裏面)とを有する構造化層と、構造化層の第1の面に隣接する任意の最上層と、構造化層の第2の面に隣接する接着封止層と、を備えていた。接着封止層は、接着層と、接着層上に配置されたバリア要素と、を更に含んでいた。バリア要素は架橋ポリマーマトリックスを含んでいた。サンプルを試験のために用意した。まず、構造化層及び最上層を、接着封止層に接着テープを取り付け、構造物を液体窒素に浸漬し、構造物を引き離すことにより接着封止層から分離した。これにより、構造化面及び最上層からの接着封止層の分離並びにバリア要素の露出をもたらした。バリア要素を備える接着封止層を、その後、エポキシ接着剤(商品名Struers SpeciFix Resinで入手可能、硬化剤Struers SpeciFix-20と7:1の重量比で混合した)に埋め込み、24時間硬化させ、続いて、Leica Mycrosystems(Illinois、USA)のLEICA EM UC6を使用し、-20℃の温度でクライオミクロトームにかけた。得られた多層構造は、接着テープ/接着層/バリア要素/エポキシ層を備えていた。次いで、多層構造を切断し、その断面を露出させた。
複数の微細構造化要素を含む構造化層を備える光方向付け物品を、米国特許第8,371,703号(Smithら)(同明細書の全内容は参照により本明細書に援用される)に概ね記載されている通りに用意した。機械加工可能な金属に高精度ダイヤモンド工具(Mooers(New York、U.S.A)により製造及び販売されている「K&Y Diamond」など)を使用して3つの溝を切削し、マイクロプリズムを形成することによってマスターツールを用意した。このツールは4.0ミル(0.001インチ)の主溝ピッチ及び58度の底角を有する二等辺三角形を備えていた。
本開示の実施態様の一部を以下の[項目1]-[項目37]に記載する。

前記バリア要素は、4.8GPa未満の弾性率を有する架橋ポリマーマトリックスを含む、
光方向付け物品。

前記低屈折率層は前記構造化層よりも低い屈折率を有し、空気又は低屈折率材料のうちの1つである、項目1に記載の光方向付け物品。

- 主面に対向する、複数の微細構造化要素を備える構造化層と、
第1領域及び第2領域を有する接着封止層であって、前記第2領域は、前記構造化層と接触している、接着封止層と、
前記第1領域にあるバリア要素であって、前記接着封止層と前記微細構造化要素の先端部との間に配置された、バリア要素と、
前記バリア要素及び前記構造化層の間に配置された低屈折率層と、
を備え、
前記バリア要素は、少なくとも0.9GPa及び4.8GPa未満の弾性率を有する架橋ポリマーマトリックスを含む、
光方向付け物品。 - 前記弾性率は、少なくとも0.9GPa、かつ、4.4GPa未満である、請求項1に記載の光方向付け物品。
- 前記架橋ポリマーマトリックスの硬度は、5MPaより大きく、かつ、370MPa未満である、請求項1に記載の光方向付け物品。
