Description

Claims (7)
- 溶融金属の渦を調節する方法であって、溶融金属にアルミニウムスクラップが追加されるチャージウェルであって、前記チャージウェルは頂部開口形チャンバを有し、前記チャンバは、側壁または底壁に配置され且つポンプウェルと流体連通状態にある入口と、前記底壁に設けられていてドロスウェルと流体連通状態にある出口とを有する、前記チャージウェルと、前記出口の上方で前記溶融金属内に吊り下げることができる渦制御ダイバータと、を用意するステップを含み、前記渦ダイバータを前記出口の上方の所望の距離のところに位置決めするステップを含み、前記溶融金属を前記入口中に移動させて前記渦を前記チャンバ内に形成するステップを含み、前記溶融金属は、ポンプを作動させることによって前記入口中に動かされ、前記アルミニウムスクラップを前記ダイバータと前記チャンバとの間の領域内に配置するステップを含み、
前記アルミニウムスクラップを前記渦ダイバータと前記チャンバの内壁との間で溶融金属浴の表面上に付着させて、前記アルミニウムスクラップの前記チャージウェル内の溶融金属の表面上の滞留時間を長くするとともに、前記アルミニウムスクラップに含まれる湿気および加工流体を前記アルミニウムスクラップの表面から蒸発させて、ドロスフォームの生成を減少させる、方法。 - 炉および渦生成スクラップ浸漬ウェルを含む溶融金属スクラップ浸漬システムであって、溶融金属にアルミニウムスクラップが追加される浸漬ウェルであって、前記浸漬ウェルは頂部開口形チャンバを有し、前記チャンバは、側壁または底壁に配置され且つポンプウェルと流体連通状態にある入口と、前記底壁に設けられていてドロスウェルと流体連通状態にある出口とを有する、前記浸漬ウェルを備え、前記浸漬ウェルは、アルミニウムスクラップを浸漬させる溶融金属の流れを生じさせるために前記チャンバの形状を利用し、前記浸漬ウェルは、前記出口の上方に吊り下げられるとともに前記浸漬ウェル内で循環する溶融金属の浴中に浸漬可能に差し向けられたダイバータを収容し、前記ダイバータの垂直位置は吊り下げ機構によって調整可能であり、前記アルミニウムスクラップを前記ダイバータと前記浸漬ウェルの前記チャンバの内壁との間で溶融金属浴の表面上に付着させて、前記アルミニウムスクラップの前記浸漬ウェル内の溶融金属の表面上の滞留時間を長くするとともに、前記アルミニウムスクラップに含まれる湿気および加工流体を前記アルミニウムスクラップの表面から蒸発させて、ドロスフォームの生成を減少させる、システム。
- 前記ダイバータは、円筒形、ピラミッド形、または円板形状である、請求項2記載のシステム。
- 前記ダイバータは、開口頂端および開口底端のうちの一方または両方を有するドラムから成る、請求項3記載のシステム。
- 前記ダイバータは、前記浸漬ウェルの出口の直径に実質的に等しくまたは該直径よりも大きい直径を有する、請求項2記載のシステム。
- 前記浸漬ウェルとのオーバーラップ位置に設けられたフード要素と、前記フード要素内の温度を測定するとともに前記温度が約1200°Fを下回ったときにバーナを自動的に作動させる熱電対とを更に含む、請求項2記載のシステム。
- 前記浸漬ウェルから延びるとともに前記ダイバータに係合して前記ダイバータに安定性を提供する少なくとも1つの突出部を更に含む、請求項2記載のシステム。
