技術分野
本開示は、PEM燃料電池における使用のための疎水性添加物を有する膜電極アセンブリ、ならびに上記疎水性添加物を含む触媒コーティング膜および燃料電池に関する。
燃料電池システムは現在、多くの適用(例えば、自動車および定置型電源設備)における電力供給として使用するために開発されつつある。このようなシステムは、電力を経済的に送達するという保証および環境的な利益および他の利益を提供する。しかし、商業的に存続可能であるためには、燃料電池システムは、その燃料電池がそれらの好ましい作動範囲外の条件に供されているときでも、作動に十分な信頼性を示すべきである。
結果として、電池電圧反転を許容する膜電極アセンブリおよび燃料電池の必要性が存在する。本開示の実施形態は、この必要性に対処し、関連する利益を提供する。

Claims (20)
- 膜電極アセンブリであって、
アノード触媒層およびアノードガス拡散層を含む、アノード電極;
カソード触媒層およびカソードガス拡散層を含む、カソード電極;
該アノード触媒層と該カソード触媒層との間に挟まれた、ポリマー電解質膜;ならびに
該アノードガス拡散層と該アノード触媒層、該アノード触媒層と該ポリマー電解質膜、該ポリマー電解質膜と該カソード触媒層、および該カソード触媒層と該カソードガス拡散層のうちの少なくとも1つの間にフルオロ-ホスホン酸化合物を含む層、
を含む膜電極アセンブリ。 - 前記フルオロ-ホスホン酸化合物は、フルオロアルキル-ホスホン酸化合物である、請求項1に記載の膜電極アセンブリ。
- mは5~7であり、nは1~2である、請求項3に記載の膜電極アセンブリ。
- 前記フルオロ-ホスホン酸化合物を含む層は、約1マイクログラム/cm2~約100マイクログラム/cm2の前記フルオロ-ホスホン酸化合物を含む、請求項1に記載の膜電極アセンブリ。
- 前記フルオロ-ホスホン酸化合物を含む層は、約3マイクログラム/cm2~約50マイクログラム/cm2の前記フルオロ-ホスホン酸化合物を含む、請求項1に記載の膜電極アセンブリ。
- 前記フルオロ-ホスホン酸化合物は、少なくとも200g/molの分子量を有する、請求項1に記載の膜電極アセンブリ。
- 前記フルオロ-ホスホン酸化合物を含む層は、前記アノード触媒層と前記ポリマー電解質膜との間にある、請求項1に記載の膜電極アセンブリ。
- 前記フルオロ-ホスホン酸化合物を含む層は、前記アノードガス拡散層と前記アノード触媒層との間にある、請求項1に記載の膜電極アセンブリ。
- 前記フルオロ-ホスホン酸化合物を含む層は、前記ポリマー電解質膜と前記カソード触媒層との間にある、請求項1に記載の膜電極アセンブリ。
- 前記フルオロ-ホスホン酸化合物を含む層は、前記カソード触媒層と前記カソードガス拡散層との間にある、請求項1に記載の膜電極アセンブリ。
- 膜電極アセンブリを作製するための方法であって、該方法は、
フルオロ-ホスホン酸化合物と、溶媒、イオノマー、導電性粒子、またはこれらの組み合わせとを混合して、混合物を作製する工程;
該混合物を、以下:
アノード触媒層;
アノードガス拡散層;
ポリマー電解質膜;
カソード触媒層;または
カソードガス拡散層.
のうちの1またはこれより多くに適用する工程
を包含する方法。 - 前記フルオロ-ホスホン酸化合物は、フルオロアルキル-ホスホン酸化合物である、請求項14に記載の方法。
