Abstract
Description
本願は、その開示全体が、あらゆる目的のために、参照することによって、それらの全体として本明細書に組み込まれる、2018年10月23日に出願され、「Insulation Board Having Woven Facers」と題された、米国仮特許出願第62/749,530号、および2019年3月15日に出願され、「Insulation Board With Improved Performance」と題された、米国仮特許出願第62/819,089号の優先権を主張する。
本発明は、概して、建築物建設において、特に、屋根構築の建設において使用される断熱ボードのためのフェーサとしての製織マットの使用を通した、向上された物理的性質によって付与される、改良された断熱ボード性能に関する。屋根アセンブリにおいて使用されると、本発明は、屋根構築システムが、低または典型的な密度の断熱ボードを用いて「耐豪雹」(VSH)試験定格を充足することを可能にする。
現在、ポリウレタンまたはポリイソシアヌレート(ポリイソ)発泡屋根構築断熱ボードのためのフェーサは、典型的には、ガラス補強フェルト(GRF)フェーサから、もしくはコーティングガラスフェーサ(CGF)材料からのいずれかで作製される。フェーサは、断熱ボード上および屋根システム内でいくつかの目的を果たしている。例えば、フェーサは、発泡ボードに構造的完全性を提供し、雹、歩行、重HVAC機器、および建設機械によって及ぼされる力から脆弱な発泡体表面を保護することに役立つ。フェーサはまた、風上昇性能に関して発泡ボードに追加される強度も提供する。GRFおよびCGFは両方とも、繊維ガラスを含有し、したがって、製造プロセスの間ならびに最終使用用途において皮膚刺激物である。GRFフェーサを用いる場合、ガラス繊維が、紙に添加され、特に、フェーサが湿潤しているときの寸法安定性を改良する。しかしながら、ガラス繊維は、ボードが、湿気への暴露の後、GRFフェーサの寸法変化に起因して歪まないように、または漏出等の湿気に暴露されている間、強度を喪失しないように防止するものではない。コーティングガラスフェーサは、GRFフェーサと比較すると湿気およびカビに対する改良された耐性をもたらすが、これらのフェーサは、湿気への暴露の後、脱色し、堅性であり、そのため、それらは、ボードを横断して力を分散せず、また、発泡ボードの生産の間、過度の量の化学物質を吸収する傾向も有する。フェーサ材料を含有するこれらの繊維ガラスの付加的な欠点は、(a)それらが、十分に強力な押込抵抗をもたらさないことと、(b)それらが、ポリウレタンまたはポリイソシアヌレート断熱ボードを剥離させる、もしくはそれから離層する傾向にあることと、(c)ガラス繊維の含有が、ボードの生産および配設の間に取扱上の苦情をもたらすこととを含む。
一側面では、本発明は、(随意に、ポリウレタンまたはポリイソシアヌレート、もしくはフェノール材料、または発泡ポリスチレン材料(EPS)であり得る)発泡断熱ボードと、発泡断熱ボードの上部側に付着される上部フェーサとしての、製織マットと、発泡断熱ボードの底部側に付着される底部フェーサとしての、製織マットとを有する、断熱ボードアセンブリを備える。随意に、製織フェーサは、天然および/または合成の織り糸ならびに/もしくはテープから作製されてもよい。好適な合成の織り糸またはテープは、ポリエチレン、エチレンおよびアルファオレフィン共重合体、ポリプロピレン、プロピレンおよびアルファオレフィン共重合体、ナイロン、ポリエステル、アクリルポリエステル、ポリアミド、アラミド等のポリマーから作製されることができる。好適な天然の織り糸は、綿、セルロース、羊毛、レーヨン、絹、麻、サイザル麻等の天然繊維から作製されることができる。

上記に記載されるように、図1に示されるような一実施形態では、本システムは、随意に、ポリウレタンまたはポリイソシアヌレート発泡体、もしくはフェノール材料、または発泡ポリスチレン材料(EPS)から作製され得る、発泡断熱ボード12と、発泡断熱ボードの上部側に付着される、上部製織フェーサ20Aであって、随意に、ポリプロピレンを含み得る、製織材料から作製される、上部製織フェーサ20Aと、発泡断熱ボードの底部側に付着される、製織底部フェーサ20Bであって、また、随意に、製織ポリプロピレンから作製される、製織底部フェーサ20Bとを備える、断熱ボードアセンブリ10を提供する。代替側面では、天然および合成繊維の両方を含む、他の製織材料も、代わりに使用されてもよい。
Factory Mutual 4470の「耐豪雹」(VSH)試験のための手順は、中西部の全体を通した14の州における商業的屋根システムの建設に有意な影響を及ぼしている、新しい試験規格である。試験は、屋根システム試験試料における2インチの直径の氷の球を1秒あたり152〜160フィートの速度において推進するステップを伴った。膜は、穿貫されてはならず、これは、基板ボードに接着されたままでなければならない。基板ボードは、本試験に合格するために、亀裂される、またはフェーサを発泡体から離層させることはできない。
