Description
本明細書において「炎症リスク」とは、(i)将来的に炎症が発症するリスク、および/または、(ii)既に発症している炎症が、将来的に悪化するリスク、を含む。
後述する実施例に示すように、遊離脂肪酸の中でも特に不飽和脂肪酸の量が多くなると、頭皮において炎症が発生する。このことは、不飽和脂肪酸の量を低下させることができる物質は、抗炎症物質として機能し得ることを示している。
医師による全頭の目視観察によって、頭部に赤みが生じている被験者を抽出した。
各被験者の頭皮(3cm2のエリア)を、ヘキサンとエタノールとを1:1にて含む溶液中に浸したコットンを用いて拭き、これによって、頭皮脂を回収した。

Claims (3)
- 被験者から採取された頭皮脂の中に含まれる不飽和脂肪酸の量を測定する測定工程を含む、頭皮における炎症リスクの評価方法であって、
上記炎症は、脂漏性皮膚炎以外の炎症である、炎症リスクの評価方法。 - 上記不飽和脂肪酸は、モノ不飽和脂肪酸およびジ不飽和脂肪酸からなる群から選択される少なくとも1つである、請求項1に記載の評価方法。
- 頭皮のモデル組織と、抗炎症物質の候補物質とを接触させる接触工程と、
上記候補物質を接触させていない頭皮のモデル組織に由来する不飽和脂肪酸の量αと、上記候補物質を接触させた上記頭皮のモデル組織に由来する不飽和脂肪酸の量βとを比較する比較工程と、
上記量αと上記量βとが、α>βの関係を満たした場合に、上記候補物質を抗炎症物質として選択する選択工程と、を含む、抗炎症物質のスクリーニング方法であって、
上記炎症は、脂漏性皮膚炎以外の炎症である、抗炎症物質のスクリーニング方法。
