該各短尺縁部を、該屋根材本体の水下側、水上側にそれぞれ隣接配置する他の屋根材の短尺縁部に重ね合わせて屋根材同士を梁間方向へ接続する一方、該上ハゼ、下ハゼを、桁方向に隣接配置する他の屋根材の下ハゼ、上ハゼにそれぞれ嵌合させて屋根材同士を桁方向へ接続して建築構造物の屋根を葺きあげる嵌合式の屋根材であって、
該屋根材本体の一方の短尺縁部に、水上側に隣接配置する他の屋根材の短尺縁部の下側において重ね合わさる下継手を設け、
