Claims (14)
- リング光導波路と;
第1の光導波路と;を含み、
前記第1の光導波路は、前記第1の光導波路の第1の部分が前記リング光導波路の第2の部分に重なるように構成され、
前記第1の光導波路が、第1の屈折率を有し、前記リング光導波路が、第2の屈折率を有し、前記第1の屈折率が前記第2の屈折率未満であり、
前記第1の光導波路の前記第1の部分が、重なり領域において前記リング光導波路の前記第2の部分に重なり、
前記重なり領域内で前記第1の光導波路と前記リング光導波路との間に介在する結合材料をさらに含み、前記結合材料が、前記第1の屈折率のものと前記第2の屈折率との間の第3の屈折率を有する、マイクロリング共振器(MRR)。 - 前記第1の光導波路が、ポリマー光導波路であり、前記リング光導波路が、シリコン光導波路である、請求項1に記載のMRR。
- 前記第1の光導波路が、前記リング光導波路よりも高さが高く、前記第1の光導波路の前記第1の部分が、前記リング光導波路の前記第2の部分のための空間を提供するように構成される、請求項1又は2に記載のMRR。
- 前記第1の光導波路及び前記リング光導波路が、水平絶縁体ベースの上にあり、前記第1の光導波路の前記第1の部分が、水平寸法において前記リング光導波路の前記第2の部分に重なる、請求項1から3の何れか一項に記載のMRR。
- 前記第1の光導波路の前記第1の部分が、前記重なり領域において前記リング光導波路の前記第2の部分と接触している、請求項1に記載のMRR。
- 前記重なり領域において、前記第1の光導波路の前記第1の部分と前記リング光導波路の前記第2の部分との間にギャップをさらに含む、請求項1に記載のMRR。
- 第1の屈折率を有する第1の材料から形成された第1の光導波路と;
前記第1の光導波路に光学的に結合された複数(N個)のマイクロリング共振器(MRRs)であって;前記N個のMRRsの各々が、第2の屈折率を有する第2の材料から形成されたリング光導波路を含み、前記第1の屈折率が前記第2の屈折率未満である、複数のマイクロリング共振器と;を含み、
前記第1の光導波路の第1の部分が、前記N個のリング光導波路の各々の一部に重なり、
各重なり領域内で前記第1の光導波路と各リング光導波路との間に介在する結合材料をさらに含み、前記結合材料が、前記第1の屈折率のものと前記第2の屈折率との間の第3の屈折率を有する、フォトニック回路。 - 各リング光導波路が、異なる波長で共鳴するように構成される、請求項7に記載のフォトニック回路。
- 前記第1の光導波路が、ポリマー光導波路であり、各MRRに関して、前記リング光導波路が、シリコン光導波路である、請求項7又は8に記載のフォトニック回路。
- 前記第1の光導波路が、各リング光導波路よりも高さが高く、各MRRに関して、前記第1の光導波路の一部が、前記リング光導波路のための空間を提供するように構成される、請求項9に記載のフォトニック回路。
- 水平絶縁体ベースをさらに含み、前記第1の光導波路及び各リング光導波路は、前記第1の光導波路の第1の部分が水平寸法において各リング光導波路の第2の部分に重なるように、前記水平絶縁体ベースの上にある、請求項7から10の何れか一項に記載のフォトニック回路。
- 前記第1の光導波路の前記第1の部分が、重なり領域において各リング光導波路の前記一部に重なる、請求項7から11の何れか一項に記載のフォトニック回路。
- 第1の光導波路と;
リング光導波路と;
前記第1の光導波路と前記リング光導波路との間の重なりの領域であって、前記第1の光導波路の第1の部分が、前記リング光導波路の第2の部分に重なる、領域と、を含み、
前記第1の光導波路が、第1の屈折率を有し、前記リング光導波路が、第2の屈折率を有し、前記第1の屈折率が前記第2の屈折率未満であり、
前記重なりの領域内で前記第1の光導波路と前記リング光導波路との間に介在する結合材料をさらに含み、前記結合材料が、前記第1の屈折率のものと前記第2の屈折率との間の第3の屈折率を有する、光学デバイス。 - 水平絶縁体ベースをさらに含み、
前記第1の光導波路及び前記リング光導波路が、前記水平絶縁体ベースの上にあり;
前記第1の光導波路の前記第1の部分が、水平寸法において前記リング光導波路の前記第2の部分に重なる、請求項13に記載の光学デバイス。
