Claims (20)
- 波長分割多重(WDM)デバイスであって、
導波路と、
前記導波路の送信経路に形成されたミラーの上方に配置された結合レンズであって、前記ミラーは、前記送信経路から出る入射信号を前記レンズを通るように反射し、前記レンズから来る信号を前記送信経路内へとさらに反射する、前記結合レンズと、
第1の波長の光信号を透過させ、前記第1の波長以外の波長の受信光信号を反射するように構成された光学フィルタを備える、前記レンズの焦点距離の近くに配置された光学チップと、
を備え、
前記ミラーが、前記導波路の背面から前記導波路内に作られた二面を有する溝であり、前記二面の一方が前記送信経路から出る入射信号を前記レンズを通るように反射する反射面をなし、前記二面の他方が前記レンズから来る信号を前記送信経路内へとさらに反射する反射面をなす、
波長分割多重(WDM)デバイス。 - 前記光学フィルタが、交互する誘電体層を備えるブラッグ・フィルタである、請求項1に記載のWDMデバイス。
- 前記ブラッグ・フィルタが、二酸化シリコンおよび二酸化チタンの交互する層を備える、請求項2に記載のWDMデバイス。
- 前記ブラッグ・フィルタが、9つの周期の前記交互する層を有する、請求項2に記載のWDMデバイス。
- 前記溝の面が、全反射によって入射および出射信号を反射する、請求項1に記載のWDMデバイス。
- 前記レンズが、前記入射信号の方向を前記光学フィルタの方に向くように変える、請求項1に記載のWDMデバイス。
- 前記レンズが、分散を最小化し、前記光学チップの配置における位置および角度の許容誤差を最大化する、軸方向に非対称的なレンズである、請求項1に記載のWDMデバイス。
- 前記溝の面が45度以外の角度を有する、請求項1に記載のWDMデバイス。
- 波長分割多重(WDM)システムであって、
複数のWDMデバイスを備え、各デバイスが、
導波路と、
前記導波路の送信経路に形成されたミラーの上方に配置された結合レンズであって、前記ミラーは、前記送信経路から出る入射信号を前記レンズを通るように反射し、前記レンズから来る光信号を前記送信経路内へとさらに反射する、前記結合レンズと、
それぞれの波長の光信号を透過させ、前記それぞれの波長以外の波長の受信光信号を反射するように構成された光学フィルタを備える、前記レンズの焦点距離の近くに配置された光学チップと、
を備え、
前記ミラーが、前記導波路の背面から前記導波路内に作られた二面を有する溝であり、前記二面の一方が前記送信経路から出る入射信号を前記レンズを通るように反射する反射面をなし、前記二面の他方が前記レンズから来る光信号を前記送信経路内へとさらに反射する反射面をなす、
波長分割多重(WDM)システム。 - 各光学フィルタが、交互する誘電体層を備えるブラッグ・フィルタである、請求項9に記載のWDMシステム。
- 各ブラッグ・フィルタが、二酸化シリコンおよび二酸化チタンの交互する層を備える、請求項10に記載のWDMシステム。
- 各ブラッグ・フィルタが、9つの周期の前記交互する層を有する、請求項10に記載のWDMシステム。
- 各溝の面が、全反射によって入射および出射信号を反射する、請求項9に記載のWDMシステム。
- 各レンズが、前記入射信号の方向を前記光学フィルタの方に向くように変える、請求項9に記載のWDMシステム。
- 前記レンズが、分散を最小化し、前記光学チップの配置における位置および角度の許容誤差を最大化する、軸方向に非対称なレンズである、請求項9に記載のWDMシステム。
- 前記溝の面が、45度以外の角度を有する、請求項9に記載のWDMシステム。
- 波長分割多重デバイスを形成する方法であって、
導波路の送信経路にミラーを形成するステップと、
前記ミラー上方の前記導波路にレンズを取り付けるステップと、
光学チップ・アレイ上にフィルタを形成するステップであって、前記フィルタが、複数の交互する誘電体層を備え、前記フィルタは、第1の波長を有する受信信号を透過させ、前記第1の波長以外の波長を有する受信信号を反射するように構成されている、前記ステップと、
前記光学チップ・アレイを前記レンズの焦点距離に配置するステップと、
を含み、
前記ミラーを形成するステップが、前記導波路の背面から前記導波路内に二面を有する溝を作るステップであって、前記二面の一方が前記送信経路から出る入射信号を前記レンズを通るように反射する反射面をなし、前記二面の他方が前記レンズから来る信号を前記送信経路内へとさらに反射する反射面をなす、前記溝を作るステップを含む、
方法。 - 前記溝を作るステップが、信号の全反射を行うように構成された表面角度を有する前記溝を前記導波路内に作るステップを含む、請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記フィルタを形成するステップが、前記光学チップ・アレイの活性領域上に二酸化シリコンおよび二酸化チタンの交互する層を蒸着するステップを含む、請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記レンズに対応する孔を有するチップ・キャリアを前記導波路上に配置するステップをさらに含み、前記光学チップ・アレイを配置するステップが、前記光学チップ・アレイを前記レンズの上方の前記チップ・キャリアにフリップ・チップ・ボンディングするステップを含む、請求項17に記載の方法。
