Description
本願発明者は、従来の画像表示装置に関し、以下の問題が生じることを見出した。従来、液晶セルを備えた画像表示装置に採用されるバックライトユニットとして、導光板の少なくとも1辺に沿って光源部が配置された、エッジライト方式のバックライトユニットが存在する。光源部は、発光素子として例えば複数個のLED(Light Emitting Diode)を備えており、LEDは、導光板の一辺に複数個並べられた状態で配置されている。LEDは、導光板の一辺に対応する長さにおいてほぼ等間隔で配置されているため、光源部の中間部の光量に対して光源部の両端部の光量が不足し、液晶セルを透過する光の隅部の光量が不足するという問題が存在する。
まず、図1及び図2を参照しながら、実施の形態に係る画像表示装置100の全体構成について説明する。
次に、反射シート138を詳細に説明する。図3は、実施の形態に係る反射シートがベースプレートに取り付けられた状態を示す平面図である。図4は、実施の形態に係る反射シートの1つの隅部を示す平面図である。図5は、実施の形態に係る画像表示装置の光源部の端部を示す断面図である。
以上のように、本実施の形態に係る画像表示装置100は、液晶セル122と、液晶セル122の背面側に配置される矩形板状の導光板136と、導光板136の少なくとも一端面に沿って延在し前記端面に向けて光を放射する光源部134と、導光板136の背面に配置され、光源部134が放射した光を液晶セル122側に反射する反射シート138と、反射シート138の背面に配置され反射シート138を支えるベースプレート112とを備え、反射シート138は、光源部134の両端部に対応する位置において光源部134に向かってそれぞれ突出する突出部139を備える。
以上のように、本出願において開示する技術の例示として、実施の形態を説明した。しかしながら、本開示における技術は、これに限定されず、適宜、変更、置き換え、付加、省略などを行った実施の形態にも適用可能である。また、上記実施の形態で説明した各構成要素を組み合わせて、新たな実施の形態とすることも可能である。そこで、以下、他の実施の形態を例示する。

Claims (2)
- 液晶セルと、
前記液晶セルの背面側に配置される矩形板状の導光板と、
前記導光板の少なくとも一端面に沿って延在し前記端面に向けて光を放射する光源部と、
前記導光板の背面に配置され、前記光源部が放射した光を前記液晶セル側に反射する反射シートと、
前記反射シートの背面に配置され前記反射シートを支えるベースプレートとを備え、
前記反射シートは、前記光源部の両端部に対応する位置において前記光源部に向かってそれぞれ突出する突出部を備え、
前記ベースプレートは、前記光源部の背面側に前記光源部に沿って前記突出部の背面側まで延在する溝状の作業空間を備え、
少なくとも、前記突出部の背面側の前記作業空間内に配置され、前記反射シートの前記突出部を背面側から支える支承部材を備える
画像表示装置。 - 前記光源部は、前記導光板の端面に沿って並んで配置される複数個の発光素子を備え、
前記発光素子よりも前記導光板側に突出し、前記導光板の位置を規制するストッパを備え、
前記反射シートの前記突出部は、前記ストッパの背面側に配置される
