Description
具体的には、本発明の方法は、完全中和されていない少なくとも1種類の酸性樹脂を含み、又は完全中和されていない少なくとも1種類の塩基性樹脂を含む、ポリマーから選択される高吸収性ポリマー(SAP)を含有する単層又は複数層からなるウエブ、又は、完全中和されていない塩基性SAP層と酸性SAP層とが交互に形成された複数層からなるウエブの製造に関する。
これらの材料の基本的特性は、吸収、比重量、厚み、比体積、明るさ、引張強さ、外観、及び快適さ(例えば表面の粗さ及び/又は柔らかさ)である。
上記特徴は、この種の材料を使用するのに重要である。自由吸収(外部応力のない吸収)としての薄紙の吸収限界は、すなわち、浸漬及び滴下によるものであり、圧力を付与することない吸収限界では、材料1グラムあたり、水は約10〜16グラムとなる。
従って、ゲル化したSAPに吸収される多量の水は、機械の稼働時間乃至稼働率に関して技術的な課題を与える。主に、その乾燥コストが経済的に大きな課題となっている。
従って、特に水を吸収した後、一定限度量のSAPが結合された材料は、結果として剥離され易くなる傾向がある。そして、特に、微粉末を使用すると環境(大気中)に分散することにより、労働環境の安全性に関する問題が生じる。
変形例によると、水溶性の有機液体中に、乾燥SAP繊維を分散させておく。有機液体中では、乾燥SAP繊維は膨張せず、そして、ウエブ形成の直前に再び、他の吸収性の低い繊維の水性分散液と混ぜられる。
水溶媒質は、膨張するSAPを抑制する化合物を含むこともでき、それは例えば濃度が1〜6重量%のNaCl、NaBr、KCl、及びKBrの群からの塩類である。
分散液は、食塩水溶液と混合され、そして引き続いて真空吸引下のフィルタリングメッシュスクリーンベルト上へ堆積し、過剰な塩を取り除くために水で洗い流されたのち、最終的に乾燥する。
実際、この特許は、繊維を含んだ水溶液にSAP粒子を加え、SAPが水溶液に接触してから5秒以内に、その混合物を、湿式NW処理機の真空吸引堆積部分下のメッシュスクリーンベルトに移し、更にSAPが水に接触してから45秒以内に前記ウエブを乾燥エリアに到達させることによって製造できると主張する。
粒状SAPが砕けやすいため乾燥エアレイド法で、60%より多いSAP含有量の低い比重(<200g/m2)のシートを製造するのは困難である。この欠点を克服するために、結合剤、接着剤、又は糊剤が用いられる。
この特許を用いて製造される材料は、塩の形態を吸水性に変質させるために、接触する液体を脱塩することを目的とする。ただし、純水又は薄い食塩水溶液では、高い吸収能を示さない。
本発明による方法は、以下のステップを含む。
食塩水溶液に強酸又は強塩基を加えることにより、イオン濃度が0.01〜4.5N、pHが0〜6.0又は8.0〜14.0である食塩水溶液を調製するステップ。
酸性の食塩水溶液の場合は、完全中和でない(完全には中和されていない)少なくとも1種類の酸性樹脂を含み、又は、塩基性の食塩水溶液の場合は、完全中和でない少なくとも1種類の塩基性樹脂を含む、ポリマーから選択される高吸収性ポリマー(SAP)を食塩水溶液に分散させるステップ。
この方法によりSAPは、所望の低いゲル化状態にあり、食塩水溶液及び/又は使用するSAPに応じ、pH<6又はpH>8によってゲル化する塊の形成は阻止され、存在しておらず、そして、SAPは、抄紙機の真空メッシュスクリーンベルトの堆積部分上へ均一に堆積される。
SAPの繊維又は粒子が分散した混合物は、セルロース繊維を用いた好ましい実施例により、そして、適切な最低限度の食塩での処理で、紙又は湿式不織布の通常の製造のように、メッシュスクリーンベルト真空堆積部分に移送され得る。
このステップは、ウエブの形成部と乾燥シリンダ上での移送部との間の領域のメッシュスクリーンベルト堆積部分上で行われ、(所望程度の食塩のレベルまで)SAPを再塩化(再度の食塩処理)して、その吸収能力を再度高めるために、NaOH又はHClをそれぞれ供給するものである。
この種のプラントでは、セルロース繊維の有無にかかわらず、例えばパルパーで、SAPを食塩水溶液に投入することができ、SAPの性質に応じて、適切に酸性化又は塩基性化することができる。しかし、他のパルパーについては、メッシュスクリーンベルト堆積部上で混合する際に、前者のパルパーの内容物の酸又は塩基がそれぞれ中和されるような濃度で、NaOH又はHClを有するセルロース繊維を投入することができる。
これにより、上記の再塩化処理に続く塩基性又は酸性処理の必要又は統合を排除又は低減させる。
以下の特徴を有する水溶液を準備した。
1.250mlの目盛り付きフラスコ内に、検査する溶液のpHを低下させるため、濃度が0.5−1.0−1.5−2.0−2.5−3.0−3.5−4.0−4.5、及び5.0NのHCl水溶液
2.100mlの目盛り付きフラスコ内に、検査する非酸性溶液のpHを上昇させるため、濃度2NのNaOH水溶液
3.10リットルの目盛り付きビーカーに、検査する各塩分濃度のレベルについて、濃度0.00−0.025−0.05−0.10−0.15−0.30−0.75−1.50−3.0、又は4.5NのNaClの食塩水溶液
−各塩分濃度レベルに対して、検査するpHレベルごとに250mlのガラスビーカーの対によって試験セットが準備される。
−各対のビーカーに、分析天秤の較正に続いて、以下の量の1つが、加えられる。
0.0−0.50−1.0−1.50−2.0−2.50−3.0−3.50−4.0−4.50−5.0−5.50−6.0−6.5−7.0−7.5−9.0−11.0−15.0−20.0、又は25.0mEq HCl、又は、
0.5−1.0−1.5−2.0−2.5、又は3.0mEq NaOH
その後、最終的に溶液の重量が200.0gになるまで、試験食塩水溶液を加えていく。
−各対の内1つのビーカーだけに、SAP1.00gが加えられる。もう一方のビーカーはすすぎ洗い用に使用され、このステップ間のSAPの状態の変化を防止する。
−SAPを含んでいるビーカーは、吸収量を均一にするために、少なくとも2時間攪拌される。その後、pH及び伝導率、又は見かけの塩分濃度(NaClの見かけの等量として)(伝導度測定において、溶液に存在するすべてのイオンの寄与による)が測定され、そして、真空濾過される。
−溶液に加えられる有効なNaClに加えて、他のイオンの寄与は、使用するNaClの規定度1.0/1.5まで重要で、この塩分濃度を越える(塩分濃度1.5Nを越える)と不適切になる。そして後者は、用いられるNaClの規定度に等しいとみなされることができる。
このようにして得られた吸水したSAPの正味重量から使用した乾燥SAPの1.00gを差し引いた値により、測定されたpH及び塩分濃度での吸収量が求められる。
a)食塩水溶液に強酸又は強塩基を加えることにより、イオン濃度が0.01〜4.5N、pHが0〜6.0又は8.0〜14.0である食塩水溶液を調製するステップ
b)酸性の食塩水溶液の場合は完全中和されていない少なくとも1種類の酸性樹脂を含み、及び/又は、塩基性の食塩水溶液の場合は完全中和されていない少なくとも1種類の塩基性樹脂を含む、ポリマーから選択される高吸収性ポリマー(SAP)を食塩水溶液に分散させるステップ
c)堆積用メッシュスクリーン上へ、SAP分散液層化(層状形成)及び吸引することにより第1のウエブを製造するステップ
d)酸性の食塩水溶液に分散するSAPに対して、塩基性溶液を用いて酸が所望の中和レベルとなるまでウエブを洗い流す、又は、塩基性の食塩水溶液に分散するSAPに対して、酸性溶液を用いて塩基が所望の中和レベルとなるまでウエブを洗い流すステップ
e)水(放水)及び吸引により、ウエブを洗い流すステップ
f)ウエブを乾燥させるステップ
ここで、pHと塩分濃度とは、SAPの水の吸収が約30.00gH2O/gSAP以下となる関係にある。
その結果、乾燥のためのコストが抑えられる。そして、例えば、プラントの中で大きなゼリー状の塊が形成されることやプラントの中断といったすべての問題点が回避される。
塊が形成されると、紙綿の不十分な均質化及び均一性に加えて、乾燥時間が長時間となったり、稼動率が不経済であったり、また、経費が生じ、紙材の製造プラント独自の技術による実施や製造を阻む。
ポリ(ビニルアミン)、ポリ(エチレンイミン)、ポリ(ビニルグアニジン)、ポリ(アリルアミン)、ポリ(アリルグアニジン)、ポリ(ジアルキルアミノ(メタ)アクリルアミド)、N―(ジアルキルアミノ(メタ)アクリルアミド)のエステル類似体から準備されるポリマー、ポリ(ジメチルジアルキルアンモニウムヒドロキシド)、グアニジン変性ポリスチレン、四級化ポリスチレン、四級化ポリ(メタ)アクリルアミド又はそのエステル類似体、ポリ(ビニルアルコール―コ―ビニルアミン)(poly(vinylalcohol−co−vinylamine))、及びそれらの混合物。好適には、樹脂は、ポリ(ビニルアミン)、ポリ(エチレンイミン)、ポリ(ビニルグアニジン)、ポリ(ジメチルアミノエチル・アクリルアミド)ポリ(DMAPMA)である。
アニオン性SAPの層化によって得られた第1のウエブの更なる実施例では、カチオン性SAPの層が直接積層され、その後に、ウエブの乾燥ステップが行われる。もしくは、その後に、アニオン性SAPの層の形成の後にカチオン性SAPの層の形成が数回繰り返される。
Claims (6)
- 吸収性材料の湿式製造方法であって、前記方法は、
a)強酸又は強塩基を加えることにより、イオン濃度が0.01以上4.5N以下、pHが0以上6.0以下又は8.0以上14.0以下である食塩水溶液を調製するステップ
b)酸性の食塩水溶液の場合は完全中和されていない少なくとも1種類の酸性ポリマー、及び/又は、塩基性の食塩水溶液の場合は完全中和されていない少なくとも1種類の塩基性ポリマーから選択される吸水ポリマー(SAP)を、前記食塩水溶液に分散させるステップ
c)メッシュスクリーンベルトの堆積領域へ、前記SAPの分散液を層化及び吸引することにより第1のウエブを製造するステップ
d)前記酸性の食塩水溶液のSAP分散液に対して、塩基性溶液を用いて酸が所望の中和レベルとなるまで前記ウエブを洗い流す、又は、前記塩基性の食塩水溶液のSAP分散液に対して、酸性溶液を用いて塩基が所望の中和レベルとなるまで前記ウエブを洗い流すステップ
e)水を加え及び吸引することにより、前記ウエブを洗浄するステップ
f)ウエブを乾燥させるステップ
を備え、
ここで、pHと塩分濃度との関係は、SAPの水の吸収が30.00gH2O/gSAP以下となる関係であることを特徴とする方法。 - 前記吸水ポリマー(SAP)を前記食塩水溶液に分散させるステップは、
天然又は人工のセルロース繊維及び/又は人工及び/又は合成繊維を分散し、適宜に界面活性剤により表面又はバルクの処理で水和性とすることを含み、
前記食塩水溶液を調製するステップは、用いるSAPの種類に応じてpH0以上6.0以下又は8以上14.0以下で、繊維とSAPとの食塩水溶液における分散を調製する
ことを特徴とする、請求項1記載の方法。 - 所望の食塩水溶液のpH0以上6.0以下又は8.0以上14.0以下は、前記食塩水溶液に対してそれぞれ予め酸性であるか又は予め塩基性であるSAPを用い、前記SAPを前記食塩水溶液に分散させ、前記所望のpH状態とすることを特徴とする、請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- 請求項1乃至3のいずれか一項記載の方法であって、
前記SAPは、ポリアクリル酸、加水分解アクリロニトリル重合体、加水分解アクリルアミド共重合体、デンプン−アクリル酸グラフト共重合体、加水分解デンプン―アクリロニトリルグラフト共重合体、ポリ(乳酸)、ポリ(アスパラギン酸)、エチレン―無水マレイン酸共重合体、イソブチレン―無水マレイン酸共重合体、けん化酢酸ビニル―アクリル酸エステル共重合体、スルホン化ポリスチレン、ポリ(ビニルリン酸)、ポリ(ビニルホスホン酸)、ポリ(ビニル硫酸)、ポリ(ビニルスルホン酸)、及びそれらの混合物の群から選択されることを特徴とする、方法。 - 請求項1乃至4のいずれか一項記載の方法であって、
ステップe)で得られる前記ウエブ上に、ステップc)〜e)を繰り返すことにより層形成して更なるウエブを得られ、
又は、ステップa)〜e)によってアニオン性SAPを層形成して得られた前記第1のウエブに、ステップa)〜e)によるカチオン性SAPのウエブを直接積層し、その後ステップf)を施し、
又は、カチオン性SAPの層形成の後に続きアニオン性SAPの層形成することが、1回以上繰り返され、
前記層形成される前記ウエブは、請求項2に記載の繊維の有無にかかわらず異なる組成物を有することを特徴とする、方法。 - 請求項1乃至5のいずれか一項記載の方法であって、
食塩水溶液に分散したSAPは、顆粒、粉末、繊維、薄片、又は真珠(形状)、又はそれらの混合物から成ることと、
pHと塩分濃度との関係は、SAPの水の吸収が約20.00gH2O/gSAP以下、又は、は15.00gH2O/gSAP未満、又は、10.00gH2O/gSAP以下0.05gH2O/gSAP以上となる関係であることと、
少なくとも一枚のウエブは、例えばポリアミド―アミン―エピクロロヒドリン(PAE)樹脂又は類似の樹脂といった、湿潤強力樹脂を含むこと
のうち少なくとも1つを特徴とする方法。
