このようなループ形状の歯ブラシは従来のステンレス製の軸を持つブラシの使用感を向上させる目的で軸材がソフトでしなやかな材質であってもブラシの軸の腰砕けを防止しつつ、しかも狭い歯間鼓形空隙に容易に挿入可能とする為に考案されたものであるが、さらにソフトな軸部を持つブラシにおいては、図9に示す様に、ブラシの軸両端をそれぞれ別個の柄2−a、2―bに固定することによって前述のループ形状の歯ブラシのような歯周組織に優しいブラッシングが可能となる。実施例としては図10に示す様に、緩やかに湾曲した柄2−a、のブラシ固定部他端を図中fように両側ブラケット7のワイヤ8の歯面側の位置からら挿入後、ブラシ部分が清掃目的部位に到達する図中gまで柄2−aを引き上げた後、図中hのように柄2−a、を折り返して2―bと束ねて保持しブラッシングすることによってブラシの軸材の弾性に加えて手圧による軸の牽引引力を清掃部位に加えることが可能となるのでより清掃効果を向上させることが可能となる。このヌンチャック
形状の歯ブラシは、矯正治療中のブラケット周囲の清掃目的だけではなく、歯間部の清掃にも好適であり、両隣在歯の歯間鼓形空隙頬側から舌側に向けて一方の柄を挿入通過して使用すれば、その歯間鼓形空隙を貫通した柄の一方を咬合面側から頬側に返してもう一方の柄とブラシ幅分だけズラシタ位置で束ねて保持し、頬舌方向に手圧でスライド運動することによって歯間鼓形空隙を清掃することも可能である。また図12に示す様に、この際に狭い空隙に通過させる柄2−aと軸1固定部は、実施例と反対方向にブラシ全長と同一あるいは若干短い柄2−a先端が柄2−b方向に向くように装着されていてもよく、この場合は、図12のfからgのように柄2−aと軸1固定部が軸1の副木として歯鼓形空隙を通過し、通過後hのように逆方向に牽引すると2−a先端が歯牙咬合面上を柄2−b方向に戻るので、この柄2−a、2―bを頬側に牽引しつつ交互にスライド運動することによってコンタクトポイント周囲を一挙にブラッシングすることが可能となる。
これらのブラシの軸部は前述の様にソフトでしなやかな軸部に清掃用のブラシ毛を備えているので、金属ワイヤーの歯間ブラシの様に清掃時に歯肉を傷つけ痛みを発生する事が無く、また、軸部金属ワイヤーの捻回部分が歯牙或は補綴物に擦れる時に生じる違和感がない。さらに、両端がそれぞれの柄によって固定されているのでブラシ毛による清掃圧を手圧でコントロールする事が可能である。
尚、本発明のブラシ毛の形状は清掃能力を持つ材料であれば樹脂モノフィラに限る物ではなく、また、ブラシのトリミングの形態及び融着一体化方法については、ねじりブラシのみ限定されるものではなく、本発明の要旨を逸脱しない範囲内において変更を与える。同様に、本発明のブラシ軸を柄に取り付ける際には、各種軸材に対応する接合方法に種々変更を加え得ることは勿論である。
