Claims (4)
- 先端側から後端側へ延びる円筒状の筒部と、前記筒部の後端側から径方向の外側へ鍔状に張り出す鍔部と、を備える主体金具と、
前記筒部の先端に接続される接地電極と、
前記主体金具の内部に絶縁保持され前記接地電極と火花ギャップを介して対向する中心電極と、を備えるスパークプラグの製造方法であって、
前記筒部と前記鍔部とを備えるワークの周方向の基準位置とダイスの基準位置との関係を維持した状態で、前記ダイスのねじ部が前記筒部に押し当てられるまで前記ダイスを移動させる移動工程であって、前記ねじ部に連絡する前記ダイスの端面を、前記ワークの前記鍔部の先端側のワーク基準面に接触させながら前記ダイスを移動させる移動工程と、
前記筒部に前記ねじ部を押し当てた前記ダイスによって前記筒部におねじを転造する転造工程と、を備え、
前記ダイスの前記端面は、前記ねじ部に隣接する第1部と、前記第1部に隣接する第2部と、を少なくとも備え、
前記筒部の軸線に垂直な基準平面と前記第1部とのなす角θ1は、前記基準平面と前記第2部とのなす角θ2より大きく、前記角θ2は、前記基準平面と前記ワーク基準面とのなす角θ3以下であるスパークプラグの製造方法。 - 前記ワークは、前記鍔部の側面と前記ワーク基準面とが交わる第1角に丸みが付けられており、
前記移動工程では、前記第1角に前記ダイスの前記第1部を接触させた後、前記ワーク基準面に前記ダイスの前記第2部を接触させる請求項1記載のスパークプラグの製造方法。 - 前記角θ2は前記角θ3と等しい請求項1又は2に記載のスパークプラグの製造方法。
- 前記第1部と前記第2部とが交わる第2角に丸みが付けられている請求項1から3のいずれかに記載のスパークプラグの製造方法。
