Description

フィラメントを回転させることにより生成される気流はほとんど無視できるので、装置は、液滴を伴う気流をほぼ生成しない。同時に装置は、スナップの速度にブラシの回転速度が加わるので、フィラメントの回転によって生成される前方への運動量よりも高速の速度で射出される液体の粒子または液滴を生成し得る。例えば、ブラシが約900rpmで回転する場合、2m/sの前進速度が生成され、接触プレートから離れた時のフィラメントのスナップによって、液滴の射出速度にさらに2m/sが加わる。速い気流速度を有する液滴と、液滴を囲む非常に低い速度を有する大気との組合せは、「跳ね返り」の代わりに、液滴が、荷重のない気流よりも、実際に先へ進んでいることを意味する。結果として、装置は、基材上の幅1mm程度の細く、かつ深さ10mmのクラックの内部を被覆するための塗料のミストを提供するのに適している。
非常に少量の水しか蒸発に使用しないので、本願装置は、そのようなシステムほどには、環境湿度を増加させることがない。
Claims (15)
- 噴霧化装置(10)であって、該噴霧化装置は:
空間だけ離隔された上部プレート(14)と下部プレート(16)とを含む接触プレート(12);
上部プレート(14)を通って伸びる、複数の毛細管状の開口部(20);
複数の毛細管状の開口部(20)と流体連絡する液体源(26);および
中心軸(32)まわりを放射方向に回転するブラシ(28)を含み、
毛細管状の開口部(20)は、0.1mmから3.0mmの直径を有し;
ブラシ(28)は1つ以上のフィラメント(30)を含み;
フィラメント(30)は、ブラシ(28)が接触プレート(12)に接しているときに湾曲し;
フィラメント(30)は、ブラシ(28)が接触プレート(12)との接触を離脱した後に、1回以上の振動を受け;および
それらの振動の間に、フィラメント(30)は、微細な液体の液滴を射出させる、
ことを特徴とする噴霧化装置(10)。 - 接触プレート(12)と流体連絡する下方部(40)と、フィラメント(30)から射出させられた微細な液体の液滴が開口(36)を通るように構成された、開口(36)を含む上方部(38)とを有する、ハウジング(34)をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の噴霧化装置(10)。
- 毛細管状の開口部(20)の直径は0.5mm以上2.0mm以下である、請求項1に記載の噴霧化装置(10)。
- 1フィラメントにつき1時間当たり実質的に0.25mLの速度で液体を微細な液体の液滴のミストに変換するように構成される、請求項1に記載の噴霧化装置(10)。
- フィラメント(30)から射出させられた微細な液体の液滴は、中心軸(32)まわりを放射方向に測定された、接触プレート(12)から約180度の角度で放出される、請求項1に記載の噴霧化装置(10)。
- 液体源(26)は、毛細管状の開口部(20)が全容積未満に充満されるように、液体の放出を制御するように構成された、請求項1に記載の噴霧化装置(10)。
- 液体源(26)は、上部プレート(14)と下部プレート(16)の間の液体量を維持するように構成された正圧源を含む、請求項1に記載の噴霧化装置(10)。
- フィラメント(30)の材料組成および寸法は、フィラメント(30)が中心軸(32)まわりのブラシ(28)の全回転のそれぞれのために、1回以上の振動を受けるように構成される、請求項1に記載の噴霧化装置(10)。
- フィラメント(30)は、ブラシ(28)が接触プレート(12)からのおよそ90度の角度を介して回転した後に、振動を開始するように構成される、請求項8に記載の噴霧化装置(10)。
- フィラメント(30)は、中心軸(32)まわりのブラシ(28)の全回転のそれぞれのために22回の振動を受けるように構成される、請求項8に記載の噴霧化装置(10)。
- 振動が開始する前にフィラメント(30)によって射出される大きな液体の液滴をブロックする障壁をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の噴霧化装置(10)。
- 噴霧化装置(10)のための噴霧化方法であって、該噴霧化装置(10)は、上部プレート(14)と下部プレート(16)とを備える接触プレート(12);上部プレート(14)を通って伸び、且つ0.1mmから3.0mmの直径を有する、複数の毛細管状の開口部(20);複数の毛細管状の開口部(20)と流体連絡する液体源(26);および1つ以上のフィラメント(30)を含むブラシ(28)を含み、該方法は、

- フィラメント(30)から射出させられた微細な液体の液滴は、中心軸(32)まわりを放射方向に測定された、接触プレート(12)から約180度の角度で放出される、請求項12に記載の噴霧化方法。
- 振動を開始する前にフィラメント(30)によって射出させられる大きな液体の液滴をブロックする工程をさらに含む、請求項12に記載の噴霧化方法。
