Description
The present invention relates to a method for treating Prussian blue on which cesium is adsorbed. One embodiment of the present invention relates to a treatment method in which after the slurry is oxidized, a cesium compound is highly eluted and separated, and residual cesium of a residue obtained by separating the cesium compound is reduced.
As a method of recovering radioactive cesium dissolved in water, a method of recovering the radioactive cesium with an adsorbent is exemplified. At present, various materials including zeolite are being studied as adsorbents, and some of them are used in actual decontamination sites. It is desirable that the adsorbent has a high adsorptivity that can adsorb a large amount of cesium so that the amount of waste after decontamination is small. In addition, since much more metal ions exist in the environment than radioactive cesium, the adsorbent is required to have a highly selective adsorption ability to adsorb only cesium.
Patent Document 4 discloses a method of treating a slurry after decontamination of radioactive cesium by oxidatively decomposing a slurry of cesium-adsorbed Prussian blue, thereby disposing cesium from the decomposed product by efficiently reducing the volume and disposing the slurry. A method has been proposed in which the water is further evaporated from the aqueous cesium solution to precipitate it as a cesium compound. However, there is no description about the recovery rate of cesium and the residual cesium of the decomposed product.
Non-Patent Document 1 allows recovery of a cesium elution rate of at least 80% with water and 0.5% nitric acid with water and 0.5N nitric acid with water and 0.5N nitric acid aqueous solution. It is described that about 5% of Cs remains in the combustion residue (iron oxide) after the elution treatment, but no specific method has been proposed for recovering the combustion residue (iron oxide) residual Cs.
A dispersion of Prussian blue nanoparticles is mixed with sodium alginate to form a slurry, and the slurry is dropped into an aqueous solution of calcium chloride to form a granulated body having a gel-like surface layer enriched with calcium (capsule-like structure).
The first object of the present invention is to oxidize Prussian blue after the adsorption of radioactive cesium and then perform high elution separation of the cesium compound, thereby remarkably reducing the volume of the cesium compound.
A second object of the present invention is to propose a rational cesium recovery method by combining a Prussian blue dispersion and granules in a radioactive cesium recovery method.
The method for treating cesium-adsorbed Prussian blue of the present invention comprises inductively heating a metal pot containing Prussian blue granules adsorbing cesium ions and introducing air or low-oxygen gas into the pot to form a slurry. A cesium-adsorbed Prussian blue treatment method of drying and then further oxidizing and decomposing Prussian blue by further increasing the heating temperature, wherein the amount of air or low oxygen gas introduced so that the temperature in the pot is 150 to 400 ° C. It is characterized in that at least one of induction heating is controlled to perform thermal oxidative decomposition of Prussian blue.
In one embodiment of the present invention, Prussian blue is thermally oxidatively decomposed by controlling at least one of the introduction amount of air or low oxygen gas and induction heating so that the temperature in the pot is 150 to 400 ° C.
In one embodiment of the present invention, the oxygen content of the air introduced into the pot is limited to 1 to 10%, and the form of the heat oxidative decomposition product is reduced crystal oxide, Fe 3 O as shown in FIG. 4 (XRD analysis). 4 is a combustion method.
In one embodiment of the present invention, the Prussian blue granule is an alginic acid / calcium membrane inclusion.
In one embodiment of the present invention, a pot filled with Prussian blue is attached to a heating oxidative decomposition apparatus as it is and heated after adsorption of cesium.
When Prussian blue is added to the liquid to be treated containing cesium ions, the cesium ions are quickly adsorbed to Prussian blue. A slurry (including a dehydrated cake) formed by solid-liquid separation of the liquid containing Prussian blue to which the cesium ions have been adsorbed is heated in a pot, and the slurry is dried under air or a low oxygen atmosphere, and further air or It heats in a low oxygen atmosphere to oxidatively decompose Prussian blue.
In the present invention, solid-liquid separation is simplified by using Prussian blue as a granulated material, and the cesium recovery system is simplified by directly heating the pot. Crusium adsorption and accumulation performance of Prussian blue granules is not inferior to that of Prussian blue nanoparticles, but the decontamination coefficient is considerably inferior. It is preferable to use particles.
In the present invention, preferably, air or low-oxygen gas is introduced from the drying step of Prussian blue and gradually oxidized, and the oxidation treatment is performed while the temperature in the pot is kept at 400 ° C. or lower. The cesium compound is eluted and separated from the oxidatively decomposed product with water, and the eluate is concentrated and recovered as a cesium compound. However, several percent of the cesium compound remains in the elution separation residue even after acid elution. The oxidatively decomposed product contains a high concentration of radioactive cesium, and even if the remaining amount is several percent, it becomes a high concentration radioactive waste. In the present invention, by performing the oxidation treatment in a low oxygen atmosphere, the oxidation form of the oxidatively decomposed product can be changed, and the water elution rate and the acid elution rate can be significantly improved. In addition, low concentration radioactive waste can be obtained by further sublimating and removing cesium from the elution separation residue.
In order to prepare Prussian blue granules, a method is generally used in which Prussian blue is contained in other inorganic or organic carriers, but avoid mixing of oxidized decomposition products with residues that affect vitrification in the next step. There is a need to. In one embodiment of the present invention, a granule encapsulated with a calcium alginate gel is used as the Prussian blue granule. Alginic acid burns during the oxidative decomposition process of the granules, leaving only calcium content as a residue. Since the calcium oxidation product is insoluble in water, the resulting cesium compound does not affect the vitrification.
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail. In the following description, Prussian blue nanoparticles may be simply referred to as nanoparticles.
The Prussian blue to be treated in the method of the present invention has cesium, particularly radioactive cesium, adsorbed thereon. This cesium-adsorbed Prussian blue includes nuclear power plant water contaminated with radioactive materials, lake water, river water, groundwater, pooled pools, and other decontaminated wastewater, radioactive material contamination Cesium-adsorbed Prussian blue adsorbing acid extraction water of soil, washing wastewater of waste incineration ash, and the like are exemplified. These liquids to be treated contain various metal ions and solid contents in addition to cesium. There is no particular limitation on the cesium concentration of the liquid to be treated, and the treatment can be performed from low-contaminated water of about 100 Bq / L to high-contaminated water of about 100,000 Bq / L.
The present invention, in particular, incineration ash incinerated radioactive cesium deposits washed with water, radioactive cesium-containing water is brought into contact with Prussian blue, radioactive cesium is adsorbed on Prussian blue, and this Prussian blue is oxidized to significantly reduce the volume. It is suitably applied to the step of causing
Prior to the cesium adsorption treatment with Prussian blue, it is desirable to remove solids from the liquid to be treated by filtration, centrifugation, or the like. The radioactive cesium is ionized and dissolved, and the amount of radioactive cesium attached to the removed solid is extremely small.
[Cesium adsorption treatment with Prussian blue]
It is preferable that the liquid to be treated, which has been subjected to the solid substance removal treatment as required, is passed through a pot filled with Prussian blue granules to adsorb cesium.
The chemical formula of Prussian blue is represented by Fe (III) 4 [Fe (II) (CN) 6 ] 3 . Prussian blue used in the present invention may contain water of crystallization, and at least a part of iron ions may be other metals, for example, vanadium, chromium, manganese, ruthenium, cobalt, rhodium, nickel, palladium, platinum, copper, It may be substituted with one or more metals selected from the group consisting of silver, zinc, lanthanum, europium, gadolinium, lutetium, barium, strontium, and calcium. Such a Prussian blue-type metal complex is represented by the following formula, for example.
AxMA[MB(CN)6]y・zH2O
MAはFe(III)、MBはFe(II)である。
A x M A [M B ( CN) 6] y · zH 2 O
A is an atom derived from a cation. x is 0 to 2, y is 1 to 0.3, and z is 0 to 20. M A is Fe (III), M B is is Fe (II).
As the Prussian blue, nanoparticles having a primary particle diameter (average particle diameter) of 50 nm or less and a secondary particle diameter (aggregation diameter) (average particle diameter) of about 5 nm to 1 mm are cesium adsorption performance and adhesion deposit layer formation. Although it is preferable from the viewpoint of performance, a pigment having a large primary particle size and a secondary particle size of about 10 to 100 μm, so-called “dark blue” or the like can also be used. (Measurement method (primary particle size): Measured with an X-ray diffractometer, calculated from crystal peaks to calculate the crystal lattice diameter. Measurement method (secondary particle size): Measured with a laser diffraction / scattering particle size distribution analyzer Value.)
The specific surface area of the nanoparticles measured by the BET method using N 2 gas is preferably about 150 to 2500 m 2 / g in terms of adsorption capacity and handling.
Prussian blue nanoparticles have a high cesium adsorption rate. In addition, since the distance that the cesium ions that have entered the lattice gaps of the Prussian blue nanoparticles diffuse and move to the core of the particles is short, almost the entire Prussian blue nanoparticles are used for cesium adsorption and quickly become almost saturated. Cesium can be adsorbed until.
Since the granulated body has a lower decontamination coefficient than the nanoparticle body, several pots (for example, 4 to 8) filled with Prussian blue granules are connected in series, and water to be treated is passed in series. Is preferred. Since the cesium adsorption accumulation performance of the granulated material is almost the same as that of the nanoparticle material, it is installed in series of about six, and the liquid to be treated is circulated first, and the cesium adsorption concentration is increased from the most upstream side pot sequentially. The cesium in the liquid to be treated can be efficiently adsorbed by exchanging, sequentially raising the distribution order, and installing a pot filled with granules not adsorbed with cesium at the most downstream.
When the radiocesium-containing liquid to be treated eluted by the ash washing is treated by the method of the present invention, the solution having a reduced cesium concentration is reused as an ash washing liquid by passing through a pot mounted in series.
The ash washing circulating fluid requires a certain amount of extraction and desalting to suppress the rise in salt concentration. The extracted liquid is subjected to adsorption with nanoparticles having a high decontamination coefficient to obtain treated water from which radioactive cesium is adsorbed and separated, and discharges salts free of cesium. The nanoparticle-containing liquid is filtered to obtain a treatment liquid.
The filter medium is preferably made of a porous cloth, sheet or film, and among them, a woven cloth of synthetic resin fibers having a thickness of about 0.5 to 1.2 mm, particularly about 0.9 to 1 mm is preferable. is there. Examples of the synthetic resin include, but are not limited to, polypropylene, polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), polyester, and polytetrafluoroethylene. Examples of the weave of the woven fabric include, but are not limited to, plain weave, satin weave, and twill weave. The air permeability of the woven fabric is preferably about 0.1 to 5 cm 3 / cm 2 · sec, particularly about 0.3 to 1.3 cm 3 / cm 2 · sec.
At the beginning of the filtration operation, no adhering deposit layer is formed on the filter medium, and most of the Prussian blue nanoparticles in the liquid pass through the filter medium in a straight line, but some of the particles having a relatively large particle diameter are not removed. The secondary particles are captured by the filter medium, and the amount of the captured particles gradually increases. As a result, particles having a relatively small particle size also become captured, and finally, a deposit layer is formed. When the deposit layer is formed, the Prussian blue nanoparticles having a small particle diameter are also captured by the deposit layer, and the thickness of the deposit layer increases.
When the thickness of the deposit layer adhering to the filter medium has reached a predetermined value or more, the supply of the liquid to the filter medium is stopped, and the filter medium is backwashed with a gas such as water or air. When water, air, or the like is supplied to the filter medium in the opposite direction to the time of filtration, the deposited layer that has adhered to the filter medium peels off and falls in the filter device. When the discharge valve at the bottom of the filtration device is opened, the slurry flows out. When the residual adsorption capacity of Prussian blue in this slurry is large, this slurry is returned to the cesium adsorption step. When the amount of cesium adsorbed on Prussian blue is close to the saturated adsorption, it is accommodated in a pot.
After the backwashing of the filter medium is completed, the liquid is circulated through the filter medium. Also in this case, when the liquid is started to pass, the secondary particles having a large particle diameter are first captured by the filter medium to form an attached sediment layer, and then the Prussian blue nanoparticles having a small particle diameter are also captured, and the deposited sediment layer is formed. The layer thickness increases. In the present invention, a filter aid may be used. It is preferable that this filter aid does not become a flame retardant in the combustion oxidation step.
[Prussian blue granules to be filled in pot]
The Prussian blue granule preferably contains 70% by weight or more of Prussian blue nanoparticles and has a diameter of 0.5 to 1.5 mm. It is preferable that the granules are granulated by inclusion in alginate / calcium gel. As a granulation method, a method in which Prussian blue nanoparticles are dispersed in an aqueous solution of sodium alginate sol and dropped into a calcium chloride solution with a nozzle having a diameter of 1 to 2 mm to form granules encapsulated in an alginate / calcium gel film (Method of Patent Document 5) is preferable. It is preferable that the granules are washed with water and dried (room temperature to 50 ° C. or the like) or freeze-vacuum dried to make the granules porous.
As the Prussian blue granules, those commercially available as Prussian blue MC from Kanto Chemical Co., Ltd. can be used.
As described above, it is preferable that the Prussian blue granules are accommodated in a pot, and the liquid to be treated is allowed to flow through the pot to adsorb radioactive cesium to Prussian blue.
[Drying and oxidative decomposition of cesium-adsorbed slurry]
In the present invention, the cesium-adsorbed Prussian blue slurry is dried and then oxidized. In order to perform the drying and oxidation treatment, it is preferable that the pot containing the cesium-adsorbed Prussian blue is induction-heated to dry the slurry, and then the temperature is further increased in an oxidizing atmosphere to oxidize the dried product.
In addition, whether or not substantially the entire amount of the attached water has evaporated from Prussian blue is determined by measuring the weight of the pot over time, and when this weight reaches a substantially constant weight, it is determined that substantially the entire amount of the attached water has evaporated. Can be. In addition, by observing the amount of evaporation from the pot, if the evaporation of water is substantially eliminated, it can be determined that substantially all of the attached water has evaporated.
Further, when almost the entire amount of the attached water evaporates from Prussian blue, the temperature of the exhaust from the pot becomes higher than 100 ° C. Therefore, when the temperature of the exhaust from the pot becomes higher than 100 ° C., for example, 100 to 105 ° C. , It can be determined that substantially all of the Prussian blue-adhered water has evaporated.
In the present invention, it is preferable to introduce air into the pot from the start of evaporation of the Prussian blue-adhered water. However, air is introduced into the pot during drying after a predetermined time has elapsed since the induction heating of the pot was started. It may be.
In the present invention, in the step of evaporating the Prussian blue-adhered water, it is particularly preferable to introduce air into the pot, suction the inside of the pot with an ejector, and discharge the generated water vapor. It is preferable to supply water to the ejector as a working fluid. Water vapor sucked and discharged from the pot and flying substances accompanying the water vapor are absorbed or collected by the water.
After the drying of Prussian blue under the inflow of air is completed, specifically, when the exhaust temperature from the pot reaches 110 ° C. or higher, preferably 110 to 150 ° C., for example, 120 ° C., the Prussian blue is further heated to remove Prussian blue. Decomposes oxidatively. In this oxidative decomposition treatment, air or a gas having a low oxygen concentration (for example, a mixed gas of air and nitrogen) is passed through the pot to oxidize and decompose cesium-adsorbed Prussian blue. The heating temperature is 150 ° C. or higher, preferably 200 ° C. or higher and 400 ° C. or lower, preferably 370 ° C. or lower, for example, 150 ° C. to 400 ° C., and particularly preferably about 200 ° C. to 370 ° C. By performing the oxidative decomposition treatment at such a low temperature, Prussian blue is decomposed below the melting temperature of the cesium compound, and iron oxide, a cesium compound, and the like are generated. The evaporation of cesium compounds is considerably suppressed.
Prussian blue contains a small amount of salt which is a by-product during the production of Prussian blue. This salt varies depending on the method of producing Prussian blue, and is chloride, nitrate or sulfate. In the thermal oxidative decomposition process, nitric acid ions and cesium ions cause a binding reaction due to decomposition of CN groups of Prussian blue. As a result of the study of the present inventors, it has been found that this coupling reaction occurs by thermal oxidative decomposition of the CN group. When cesium chloride and cesium carbonate are used as the simulated cesium, and the cesium-adsorbed Prussian blue is thermally oxidatively decomposed, cesium nitrate is bonded and formed. Even when iron chloride is used instead of iron nitrate as the raw material for producing Prussian blue, the Prussian blue by-product is not sodium nitrate but sodium chloride. Cesium forms bonds. Since the melting point of cesium nitrate is about 409 ° C., it is important to control the oxidative decomposition treatment so that the heating oxidative decomposition treatment temperature is 400 ° C. or less.
It is preferable that the oxygen concentration of the low oxygen gas be set to a low oxygen concentration that mainly produces a suppressed crystal oxide as shown in FIG. 4 by XRD analysis of the thermally oxidized decomposition product and generates a small amount of Fe 3 O 4 . As a guide, when Prussian blue is a granule, the oxygen concentration is preferably 10% or less, and when it is a nanoparticle, it is preferably 1 to 5%. The granules are covered with a calcium alginate film of Prussian blue and the oxygen supply rate is suppressed, resulting in extremely low oxygen air combustion. Since there is nothing in the nanoparticle body that suppresses the oxygen supply rate, the supply oxygen concentration is set lower than that. The heat oxidatively decomposed product composed of the XRD analysis-suppressed crystal oxide and a small amount of Fe 3 O 4 remarkably rapidly dissolves the cesium compound into water and an acid solution. The introduction amount of the low oxygen gas is preferably such that the temperature inside the pot is 400 ° C. or lower and the generation of accompanying scattered substances is suppressed. Also in this oxidative decomposition treatment step, it is preferable that the inside of the pot is sucked by an ejector using water as a working fluid, and the generated gas component and the scattered matter accompanying it are absorbed or collected in water.

The procedure for drying and oxidizing Prussian blue using this processing system will be described below.
The volume of Prussian blue in the pot 1 is preferably about 85 to 95% by volume of the volume of the pot. The water content of the Prussian blue to be treated is preferably about 50 to 95% by weight. The pot 1 is mounted on the
The

The oxidation product preferably contains a cesium salt in an amount of 40% by weight or more, for example, 40 to 80% by weight. Further, it is preferable to contain 15% by weight or more, for example, 15 to 50% by weight of a sodium salt.
In the case of granules encapsulated in an alginic acid / calcium gel film, it is preferable to contain 15% by weight or more, for example, 15 to 50% by weight of a calcium salt.

[Elution and separation of salts]
The decomposition product in the pot 1 after the oxidative decomposition treatment is composed of iron oxide, a cesium compound mainly composed of cesium nitrate and cesium chloride, and a small amount of other salts. Therefore, by adding water to this decomposition product, the cesium compound and other soluble salts can be eluted, and the aqueous solution containing these can be separated from the hardly soluble decomposition product solids such as iron oxide.
When taking out the oxidation product from the pot 1, it is preferable to supply water into the pot 1, stir, and suck and collect as a slurry in a dissolution / separation container. Although not shown, a pipe extending to near the bottom in the pot 1 is connected to the lower end of the
In the elution separation of a cesium compound or the like from the oxidative decomposition product, the oxidative decomposition product is pulverized to 100 µm or less, and at a water temperature of 50 to 90 ° C, preferably 60 to 80 ° C, 95% or more of the cesium contained in the product is removed. It is preferred to elute. Thereafter, it is preferable that the unextracted residual cesium in the product is further eluted with an aqueous solution of nitric acid of about 0.2 to 1N to obtain a high elution rate of 99.5% or more in total. Separation of the aqueous solution of the cesium compound or the like from the hardly-soluble oxidative decomposition product solid can be performed by filtration, centrifugation, or the like. The solution of the separated cesium compound and salts is concentrated and dried to obtain a solid (precipitate) containing cesium salt as a main component.
About 0.5% of the cesium compound still remains in the separated oxidative decomposition product solids. Sublimation heat treatment at 1000 ° C. or higher, for example, 1000 ° C. to 1100 ° C. is performed in order to further remove the cesium compound contained and obtain an oxidative decomposition product solid which can be safely disposed. The heating holding time is about 1 hour or more, for example, 1 to 3 hours. Thereby, a solid content generated by oxidative decomposition in which the cesium compound is reduced to 0.05% by weight or less is obtained.

<Water elution treatment>
The above-mentioned oxidation treatment product A was ground in a mortar to obtain a sample A1, a small amount was taken out, the acid was completely dissolved, and diluted with distilled water. When the concentration of cesium contained in this eluate was quantified by ICP-MS, the amount of cesium contained in sample A1 was Cs-73000 mg / sample-kg. Further, 1 g of the sample A1 was taken, mixed with 10 mL of distilled water, and stirred in a water bath (80 ° C.) for 6 hours to elute soluble salts into the distilled water. The eluate was centrifuged (3000 rpm, 20 minutes), and the separation residue was washed with pure water and dried to obtain a sample A2. A small amount of sample A2 was collected, dissolved in all of the acid, and diluted with distilled water. When the concentration of cesium contained in this eluate was determined by ICP-MS, the amount of cesium contained in sample A2 was Cs-13000 mg / sample-kg. Therefore, the recovery rate of water-eluted cesium from the oxidized product A by water extraction was 82.2%.
<0.5N nitric acid elution treatment>
1 g of the sample A2 was collected, mixed with 10 mL of a 0.5N nitric acid solution, and stirred in a water bath (80 ° C.) for 6 hours to elute soluble salts into distilled water. The eluate was centrifuged (3000 rpm, 20 minutes), and the separation residue was washed with pure water and dried to obtain a sample A3. A small amount of sample A3 was sampled, and the total amount of acid dissolved, diluted with distilled water, and the concentration of cesium were determined by ICP-MS. The amount of cesium contained in sample A3 was Cs-4400 mg / sample-kg. The cesium recovery rate by extracting the oxidized product A with water and further extracting with a 0.5 N nitric acid solution was 93.97%.

The drying was carried out at 150 ° C. for 15 minutes, the temperature was raised to 1000 ° C. by passing air at a rate of 0.5 L / min, and the temperature was kept for 1 hour. After natural cooling, this was designated as Sample A4. Sample A4 was sampled, the total acid dissolution, the dilution with distilled water, and the concentration of cesium were determined by ICP-MS. The amount of cesium contained in sample A4 was Cs-480 mg / sample-kg. The cesium removal rate by water extraction, 0.5N nitric acid solution extraction and further sublimation removal of the oxidized product was 99.34%.
[Discussion]
From Example 1 and Comparative Example 1, the maximum temperature in the drying and oxidation treatment steps of cesium-adsorbed Prussian blue was controlled to the melting point of cesium nitrate or lower, and a product in which crystallization of oxide form was suppressed was obtained. It was found that the extraction rate into water and 0.5N nitric acid solution was dramatically increased. Further, by improving the removal rate of cesium from the oxidation treatment residue in the sublimation removal treatment, the prospect of achieving the residue waste below the regulation value was obtained.
