また、実施例1と実施例2、3の結果より、被削材がCFRP−TiやCFRP−Alといった難削材同士の複合材料の場合はPCD層のダイヤモンド粒径は祖粒のものが、CFRPやGFRPといった繊維強化プラスチック系の被削材の場合は微粒のものが望ましかった。

Claims (4)
- 軸線回りに回転させられる超硬合金を母材とした工具本体の先端部に切屑排出溝が形成され、この切屑排出溝の工具回転方向を向く壁面には多結晶ダイヤモンド焼結体よりなる多結晶ダイヤモンド層が上記母材と一体に焼結されて配設され、この多結晶ダイヤモンド層上に上記壁面をすくい面とする切刃が形成された多結晶ダイヤモンド焼結体付き回転切削工具であって、
上記工具本体の先端部外周には、上記切屑排出溝の工具回転方向後方に連なるマージン部が形成されるとともに、上記切刃は上記すくい面の工具本体先端側の辺稜部に形成されて、この切刃の内周側には上記軸線側に向かうシンニング刃が形成されており、上記多結晶ダイヤモンド層は上記軸線から上記切刃の外周端まで配設されていて、上記軸線方向に上記工具本体の先端側から見て、上記多結晶ダイヤモンド層の厚さが、上記マージン部の幅の1/3倍〜1倍の範囲とされ、
上記多結晶ダイヤモンド層の厚さは上記切刃に沿って増減しており、ただし上記多結晶ダイヤモンド層の厚さの最大値と最小値との差が、上記マージン部の幅の2/5倍以下の範囲内とされていることを特徴とする多結晶ダイヤモンド焼結体付き回転切削工具。 - 上記多結晶ダイヤモンド層が75〜95vol%のダイヤモンドを含有する請求項1に記載の多結晶ダイヤモンド焼結体付き回転切削工具。
- 上記多結晶ダイヤモンド層におけるダイヤモンド粒径が0.5〜60μmである請求項1または請求項2に記載の多結晶ダイヤモンド焼結体付き回転切削工具。
- 上記多結晶ダイヤモンド層のヌープ硬さが35〜44GPaである請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれかに記載の多結晶ダイヤモンド焼結体付き回転切削工具。
