Description
(1) 塞栓コイルのための送達システムであって、
遠位端と、対向する近位端と、内部を軸方向に貫通して画定される管腔とを有する送達チューブと、
前記送達チューブと前記塞栓コイルとの間に配置され、かつ、近位端及び対向する遠位端を有する、近位側コイル接合部と、
近位端及び対向する遠位端を有する離脱可能なワイヤであって、該ワイヤの該遠位端に末端機構が配置されており、かつ該ワイヤが前記管腔を貫通して挿入可能であり、かつ前記送達チューブの前記近位端を超えて近位側に延出する、離脱可能なワイヤと、
前記塞栓コイルにより形成されるコイル管腔内に配置される少なくとも1本の伸張抵抗性部材であって、該少なくとも1本の伸張抵抗性部材それぞれの遠位端が、前記塞栓コイルの遠位端に固定されており、一方、前記少なくとも1本の伸張抵抗性部材それぞれが、前記塞栓コイルの前記近位端近くにも固定されている、少なくとも1本の伸張抵抗性部材と、
を含み、前記送達チューブの前記遠位端は、前記近位側接合部に、いかなる方法によっても取り付けられることなく、前記ワイヤによって物理的に保持されている、送達システム。
(2) 前記末端機構が、閉じた形状である、実施態様1に記載の送達システム。
(3) 前記近位側コイル接合部が、接着剤、エポキシ、及び/又はポリマーのうちの少なくとも1つから作製される継手であり、該継手に使用される該接着剤又はエポキシの強度、並びに該ポリマーのデュロメータは、前記送達チューブの座屈強度よりも小さい、実施態様1に記載の送達システム。
(4) 前記近位側コイル接合部の前記遠位端が、前記塞栓コイルの前記近位端に、前記継手を介して固定されており、かつ前記ワイヤの前記末端機構が前記継手に埋め込まれている、実施態様3に記載の送達システム。
(5) 前記少なくとも1本の伸張抵抗性部材それぞれの前記近位端が、前記継手に固定して埋め込まれているか、又は前記塞栓コイルの開いた近位側巻き線に固定して縫うように通されている、実施態様4に記載の送達システム。
(i)前記末端機構が前記継手から引き抜かれるか、又は(ii)前記ワイヤが、機械的に弱められた標的部分で切断されるか、のいずれかまで、十分な所定の力で前記ワイヤの前記近位端を引っ張る段階と、
前記塞栓コイルを該ワイヤから解放する段階と、を含む、方法。
(7) コイル接続部材が前記末端機構に縫うように通され、前記近位側コイル接合部に固定される、実施態様1に記載の送達システム。
(8) 前記コイル接続部材が、前記少なくとも1本の伸張抵抗性部材であり、前記少なくとも1本の伸張抵抗性部材それぞれの中間部分が、前記近位側コイル接合部の前記近位端の近くに固定されている、実施態様7に記載の送達システム。
(9) 前記コイル接続部材が、前記近位側コイル接合部に固定された末端を備えた実質的にU字形のワイヤであり、前記少なくとも1本の伸張抵抗性部材それぞれの前記近位端が、前記近位側コイル接合部に固定されている、実施態様7に記載の送達システム。
(10) 実施態様7に記載の送達システムを使用する方法であって、
前記コイル接続部材が、前記末端機構に縫うように通されているところで切断されるまで、十分な所定の力で前記ワイヤの前記近位端を引っ張る段階と、
前記塞栓コイルを該ワイヤから解放する段階と、
を含む、方法。
(12) 実施態様11に記載のシステムを使用する方法であって、
前記コイル接続部材を、前記2要素嵌合アダプターの前記第2チャネル及び前記ワイヤの前記末端機構から完全に除去する段階と、
前記ワイヤを近位方向に引っ張り、前記塞栓コイルに取り付けられている前記第2構成要素を、前記送達チューブに取り付けられている前記第1構成要素から分離する段階と、
を含む、方法。
(13) 前記近位側コイル接合部が、その内部を長手方向に貫通して画定された開口部を有し、前記ワイヤの前記末端機構が、前記近位側コイル接合部内に画定された前記開口部の直径よりも大きい最大直径を有し、これによりそれらの間に摩擦嵌めを形成し、前記ワイヤの該末端機構を前記開口部の中に保持する、実施態様1に記載の送達システム。
(14) 前記末端機構の前記最大直径が、前記コイル管腔内に配置される、実施態様13に記載の送達システム。
(15) 前記末端機構の前記最大直径が、前記近位側コイル接合部の前記開口部内に配置される、実施態様13に記載の送達システム。
(17) 前記伸張抵抗性部材それぞれの前記近位端が、前記塞栓コイルの前記近位端を閉じる中間コイル接合部に固定されているか、又は該塞栓コイルの開いた近位側巻き線に縫うように通されている、実施態様13に記載の送達システム。
(18) 実施態様13に記載の送達システムを使用する方法であって、
前記ワイヤの前記末端機構の前記最大直径と、前記近位側コイル接合部の前記開口部との間の摩擦嵌めを克服するのに十分な所定の力で、前記ワイヤの前記近位端を引っ張る段階と、
前記塞栓コイルから、前記ワイヤを前記末端機構と共に解放する段階と、を含む、方法。
(19) 前記送達チューブの遠位部分が、不連続な断続的形状でそれ自体に画定される複数の横断方向スリットを有する、実施態様1に記載のデバイス。
Claims (3)
- 塞栓コイルのための送達システムであって、
遠位端と、対向する近位端と、内部を軸方向に貫通して画定される管腔とを有する送達チューブと、
前記送達チューブと前記塞栓コイルとの間に配置され、かつ、近位端及び対向する遠位端を有する、近位側コイル接合部と、
近位端及び対向する遠位端を有する離脱可能なワイヤであって、該ワイヤの該遠位端に末端機構が配置されており、かつ該ワイヤが前記管腔を貫通して挿入可能であり、かつ前記送達チューブの前記近位端を超えて近位側に延出する、離脱可能なワイヤと、
前記塞栓コイルにより形成されるコイル管腔内に配置される少なくとも1本の伸張抵抗性部材であって、該少なくとも1本の伸張抵抗性部材それぞれの遠位端が、前記塞栓コイルの遠位端に固定されており、一方、前記少なくとも1本の伸張抵抗性部材それぞれが、前記塞栓コイルの近位端近くにも固定されている、少なくとも1本の伸張抵抗性部材と、
を含み、前記送達チューブの前記遠位端は、前記近位側コイル接合部に、いかなる方法によっても取り付けられることなく、前記ワイヤによって物理的に保持されており、
前記近位側コイル接合部が、2要素嵌合アダプターを含み、これには、前記送達チューブの前記遠位端に固定されている第1構成要素と、前記塞栓コイルの前記近位端に固定されている第2構成要素とが含まれ、該2要素嵌合アダプターは、前記ワイヤの前記末端機構を中に受容するために該2要素嵌合アダプターを長手方向に貫通して画定される第1チャネルと、該第1チャネルを横断しかつ交差するよう画定された第2チャネルとを有し、前記送達システムが、更に、該第2チャネルに受容可能で、かつ前記ワイヤの前記末端機構に縫うように通すことができる、コイル接続部材を含む、送達システム。 - 前記末端機構が、閉じた形状である、請求項1に記載の送達システム。
- 前記送達チューブの遠位部分が、不連続な断続的形状でそれ自体に画定される複数の横断方向スリットを有する、請求項1に記載の送達システム。
