Description

The present invention relates to a retainer that supports an airbag door and is combined with an inflator case.

As shown in FIG. 7, an airbag device 20 is provided on the back side of the instrument panel 10 that is a vehicle interior member installed in front of the passenger compartment 16 of the vehicle (for example, a patent). Reference 1). The airbag device 20 is configured such that an airbag 26 inflated by an inflator housed in an inflator case 22 installed on the back side of the instrument panel 10 breaks and pushes open an airbag door 28 of the instrument panel 10 to It expands in the chamber 16. The instrument panel 10 is attached with an airbag door 28 and a retainer 30 that supports the periphery of the airbag door 28 and is reinforced so that the airbag door 28 and the like are not scattered when the airbag device 20 is operated. .

The retainer 30 is provided on one side of the opening formed in the shape of a rectangular tube to the instrument panel 10 and supports the periphery of the airbag door 28, and the retainer body 32 is provided inside the opening of the retainer body 32. And a door support portion 34 fixed to the back side of the airbag door 28. Further, the folded airbag 26 and the inflator case 22 are disposed inside the retainer 30. The inflator case 22 and the retainer 30 are provided in front of and behind the inflator case 22 so that the opening of the airbag door 28 does not deteriorate due to the retainer 30 being lifted by the instrument panel 10 pushed by the airbag 26 to be deployed. The hook-shaped attachment pieces 24 thus assembled are assembled to each other so as to be caught in attachment openings 36 formed in the front and rear wall portions of the retainer main body 32. More specifically, the inflator case 22 is inserted into the retainer main body 32 from the lower opening of the retainer main body 32 in the retainer 30, and the mounting piece 24 is passed from the inner side of the retainer main body 32 to the mounting opening 36. Then, the retainer 30 does not come off the inflator case 22 due to the engagement between the tip of the attachment piece 24 that goes out of the retainer main body 32 from the attachment opening 36 and overlaps the opening edge of the attachment opening 36 and the opening edge of the attachment opening 36. It has become. Further, the mounting opening 36 is set so that the upper and lower opening widths are equal to or larger than the vertical dimension of the tip of the mounting piece 24 in order to pass the tip of the mounting piece 24 bent downward from the inside of the retainer body 32.

As shown in FIG. 7, the inflator case 22 is assembled to a retainer 40 fixed to the instrument panel 10 via an attachment piece 24 and is fixed to the reinforcement bar 38 via an attachment. For this reason, when the instrument panel 10 or the retainer 30 is installed at a position relatively lowered with respect to the inflator case 22, an allowance (overlap width) between the tip of the attachment piece 24 and the opening edge of the attachment opening 36 is increased. There is a possibility that the retainer 30 may be easily detached from the inflator case 22 (see FIG. 7A). Further, when the front or rear wall portion of the retainer 30 is pushed and deformed by the inflating airbag 26 and is deformed so that the attachment piece 24 is removed from the attachment opening 36, the airbag 26 is directed toward the gap between the retainer 30 and the inflator case 22. The air bag door 28 cannot be opened smoothly. Furthermore, even if the vertical dimension of the tip of the mounting piece 24 is set large, the opening width of the mounting opening 36 is increased in order to pass the mounting piece 24 accordingly. For this reason, it is easy to cause displacement (play) of the mounting piece 24 due to a large gap formed in the mounting opening 36 into which the mounting piece 24 is inserted, and as a result, a margin between the tip of the mounting piece 24 and the opening edge of the mounting opening 36 is increased. It gets smaller.

That is, the present invention has been proposed in view of the above-described problems related to the prior art, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a retainer that is not easily detached from the inflator case.

In order to overcome the above-mentioned problems and achieve the intended object, the retainer of the invention according to claim 1 of the present application provides:
A retainer that supports an airbag door opened by an airbag and is combined with an inflator case provided with an inflator for inflating the airbag,

Moreover, the door support part 44 is provided with the planned fracture | rupture part 52 weakened by making board thickness thin. In the embodiment, the planned break portion 52 includes a center line extending left and right at the front and rear center of the door support portion 44 and an oblique line extending from each end of the center line toward each corner of the door support portion 44. Is configured. Further, the door support portion 44 is provided with a hinge portion 54 at a root portion connected to each wall portion 46, 47, 48, 48 of the retainer main body 42 (see FIG. 3). The retainer 40 is pushed up by the airbag 26 and is broken at the planned breakage portion 52, so that the door support portion 44 divided into four is bent at the front and rear, left and right hinge portions 54 and opened to the upper side (the passenger compartment 16 side). It is like that.

As shown in FIG. 1A, FIG. 4 and FIG. 5, the retainer main body 42 has a front wall portion 46 and a rear wall portion 47 facing the front wall portion 46. A mounting opening 56 into which the mounting piece 24 is inserted is provided. A plurality of (five places in the embodiment) mounting openings 56 are provided on the front and rear wall portions 46 and 47 so as to be spaced apart at regular intervals in the left-right direction and are biased downward. The mounting opening 56 is formed so as to open in the extending direction (vertical direction in the embodiment) of the latching portion 24b with an opening width H equal to or larger than the extension dimension L from the insertion portion 24a in the latching portion 24b. Yes. Each attachment opening 56 is formed in a substantially rectangular shape penetrating the wall portions 46 and 47 in the front-rear direction (plate thickness direction), and in the embodiment, the shape and size of the attachment opening 56 are set to be the same. In the retainer 40, the attachment piece 24 is fitted into the attachment opening 56 from the inside of the retainer main body 42, and the attachment piece 24 is bent from the insertion portion 24 a that penetrates the attachment opening 56 and extends along the wall portions 46 and 47. The inflator case 22 and the retainer 40 are disposed so that the upper opening edge overlaps the lower opening edge of the attachment opening 56. As described above, the retainer 40 is configured so that the hooking portion 24 b of the mounting piece 24 extending outward from the wall portions 46 and 47 from the mounting opening 56 is hooked on the lower opening edge of the mounting opening 56, whereby the inflator case 22. To prevent it from coming off. Further, when the airbag 26 is deployed, the retainer main body 42 is restrained from being moved (lifted) relative to the inflator case 22 by being caught between the attachment piece 24 that has passed through the attachment opening 56 and the opening edge of the attachment opening 56. The

As shown in FIGS. 1 to 5, the retainer 40 is provided with a holding portion 58 so as not to be detached from the attachment piece 24 inserted into the attachment opening 56. In the embodiment, the mounting opening 56 is provided in each of the front and rear wall portions 46 and 47 of the retainer main body 42, so that the holding portion 58 is provided in each of the front wall portion 46 and the rear wall portion 47. . The holding portion 58 is configured to be fitted into a mounting opening 56 formed in the wall portions 46 and 47 with which the holding portion 58 itself is continuous. Further, when the holding portion 58 is fitted into the attachment opening 56 through which the insertion portion 24a of the attachment piece 24 passes, a gap in the vertical direction (extending direction of the latching portion 24b) remaining in the attachment opening 56 is hung. It is comprised so that it may become smaller than the extension dimension L of the stop part 24b. In other words, the retainer 40 is fitted into the attachment opening 56 of the holding portion 58 so that the opening area of the attachment opening 56 is reduced, so that the retainer 40 is not easily detached from the attachment piece 24 inserted into the attachment opening 56. The configuration of the front and rear holding portions 58 is basically the same.

As shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the holding portion 58 has an integral hinge 60 at the lower end edge (the end edge opposite to the airbag door 28) of the front and rear wall portions 46, 47 provided with the mounting opening 56. The wall portion 46, 47 and the integral hinge 60 formed thinner than the holding portion 58 can be bent and displaced in posture. The holding portion 58 is formed with the same width as the left and right widths of the front and rear wall portions 46 and 47, and is connected to an integral hinge 60 formed at the lower end edge of the wall portions 46 and 47 in the left-right direction. The lower end edges of the front and rear wall portions 46 and 47 are bent so as to extend outward in the same manner as the flange portion 50, and an integral hinge 60 provided at the front end extends outward from the mounting opening 56. It is located outside the mounting piece 24 to be taken out.

As shown in FIGS. 1 to 5, the holding portion 58 includes a connecting piece 62 having a bent portion 62 b that is bent from a base portion 62 a that is continuous with the integral hinge 60, and is formed in a substantially “L” shape in side view. 62 is provided with an insertion portion 64 provided at an extended end (an edge opposite to the integral hinge 60) of the bent portion 62b. The insertion portion 64 includes an insertion main body 64a that protrudes so as to further extend the bent portion 62b of the connecting piece 62, and an engagement claw that protrudes in a direction intersecting the protruding direction of the insertion main body 64a at the tip of the insertion main body 64a. 64b, and a plurality (five places in the embodiment) are provided at the extending end of the connecting piece 62 so as to be separated in the left-right direction. The attachment opening 56 and the fitting portion 64 are provided in correspondence with each other. In the embodiment, a plurality of fitting portions 64 are formed in accordance with the attachment openings 56 of the wall portions 46 and 47 where the holding portion 58 is connected to one holding portion 58. Has been. The fitting portion 64 has a left-right width that is set to be the same as or slightly smaller than a left-right width of the mounting opening 56, and a vertical width at a portion where the engagement claw 64 b protrudes most is a mounting opening in which the mounting piece 24 is inserted. 56 is set according to the upper and lower gaps. In addition, the engaging claw 64 b is formed in a tapered shape so that the insertion portion 64 has a vertical width that increases from the insertion end to the attachment opening 56 toward the root side continuous with the connecting piece 62.

The holding portion 58 is bent by the integral hinge 60 and swings so that the connecting piece 62 approaches or moves away from the outer surface of the wall portions 46 and 47 to which the holding portion 58 is connected, and is separated from the outer surface of the wall portions 46 and 47. And the holding posture (FIGS. 1B and 2) in which the fitting portion 64 is fitted in the mounting opening 56 (see FIGS. 1A, 2A and 4). The position can be changed between b) and FIG. In the holding posture, the holding portion 58 is attached so that the base portion 62a of the connecting piece 62 faces the outer surface of the wall portions 46 and 47, and the bent portion 62b of the connecting piece 62 extends along the penetrating direction of the mounting opening 56. The engaging claw 64 b of the fitting portion 64 inserted into the opening 56 is hooked on the inner side of the upper opening edge of the mounting opening 56. In the embodiment, in the holding posture of the holding portion 58, the fitting main body 64a of the fitting portion 64 that passes through the attachment opening 56 causes the vertical gap remaining in the attachment opening 56 through which the attachment piece 24 penetrates to extend the latching portion 24b. It is smaller than the dimension L.

As shown in FIG. 5, the holding portion 58 is connected to the lower end edge bent so as to extend outward in the wall portions 46, 47, and when in the holding posture, the base portion 62 a of the connecting piece 62 and the wall portion 46. , 47 is set such that there is a gap that can accommodate the latching portion 24b extending outward from the mounting opening 56 in the mounting piece 24. Further, the holding portion 58 has a protruding dimension of the latching portion 24b in which the gap between the base portion 62a of the connecting piece 62 and the wall portions 46 and 47 in the holding posture extends outward from the mounting opening 56 in the mounting piece 24. It is set according to. And the holding part 58 is comprised so that the latching part 24b of the attachment piece 24 may be pinched | interposed between the wall parts 46 and 47 of the retainer main body 42 in the holding | maintenance attitude | position which fitted the insertion part 64 in the attachment opening 56. FIG. ing. The holding portion 58 provided on the front wall portion 46 is provided with a groove portion 66 from the fitting portion 64 to the connecting piece 62 (see FIG. 3), and when the fitting portion 64 is fitted into the fitting opening 56, the attachment opening 56 is provided. A latching portion 24b extending outward from the groove is accommodated in the groove 66 (see FIG. 5) to restrict displacement in the left-right direction.

The holding portion 58 is molded in a posture (molding posture) in accordance with the opening direction of the molding die for molding the retainer 40 or the direction of removing the mold from the molding die. In the holding position 58 of the embodiment, the base portion 62a of the connecting piece 62 and the engaging claw 64b of the fitting portion 64 extend downward from the lower edge of the wall portions 46 and 47 along the wall portions 46 and 47 in the molding posture. The bent portion 62b of the connecting piece 62 and the fitting main body 64a of the fitting portion 64 are in a state of extending in the penetrating direction of the mounting opening 56 (see FIGS. 1A, 2A, and 4). The holding portion 58 is bent by the integral hinge 60 and can be displaced in either the direction approaching or moving away from the walls 46 and 47 from the molding posture, and the wall from the molding posture in which the mounting opening 56 is opened. The posture is changed so as to be close to the outer surfaces of the portions 46 and 47, and the holding posture is obtained.

The retainer 40 of the embodiment is assembled as follows. The wall portions 46, 47, 48, 48 of the retainer main body 42 are inserted into the airbag opening 12a of the base member 12 from above, and the flange portion 50 is overlapped with the opening edge of the airbag opening 12a. 12 is attached. The surface layer material 14 is attached to the base material 12 to which the retainer 40 is attached by foam molding or pasting. The inflator case 22 is inserted from the lower opening of the retainer main body 42 in the retainer 40 attached to the instrument panel 10 (FIG. 6A). The front and rear attachment pieces 24 in the inflator case 22 are respectively inserted into the attachment openings 56 from the inside of the retainer main body 42, and the retainer 40 and the inflator case 22 are combined through the attachment pieces 24. When the attachment piece 24 is inserted into the attachment opening 56, the attachment opening 56 is opened with the holding portion 58 in the open posture. Next, the holding portion 58 is bent by the integral hinge 60 to be displaced from the open posture to the holding posture, the insertion portion 64 is inserted into the corresponding attachment opening 56 from the outside, and the engagement claw 64b of the insertion portion 64 is attached to the attachment opening. It is hung on the opening edge of 56 and locked in a holding posture. The instrument panel 10 is installed on the vehicle body, and the inflator case 22 connected to the retainer 40 is fixed to the reinforcement bar 38 via a fixture (FIG. 6B).

(Effects of Example)
Next, the operation of the retainer 40 according to the embodiment will be described. The retainer 40 fits the fitting portion 64 of the holding portion 58 into the attachment opening 56 into which the attachment piece 24 is inserted from the state in which the attachment opening 56 is opened due to the posture displacement of the holding portion 58 that is bent by the integral hinge 60. The gap of the attachment opening 56 into which the attachment piece 24 is inserted can be reduced by the fitting portion 64. Accordingly, even when the instrument panel 10 or the retainer 30 is installed at a position relatively lowered with respect to the inflator case 22, the attachment piece 24 is difficult to be removed from the attachment opening 56. The retainer main body 42 can be made difficult to come off. Further, since the gap formed in the mounting opening 56 into which the mounting piece 24 is inserted is reduced by the insertion of the fitting portion 64 of the holding portion 58, the mounting piece 24 is less likely to be displaced (played) and inserted into the mounting opening 56. It is possible to prevent the relative positional relationship between the attached mounting piece 24 (inflator case 22) and the retainer main body 42 from shifting. Accordingly, it is possible to appropriately secure the allowance between the engaging portion 24b of the attaching piece 24 and the opening edge of the attaching opening 36, and to maintain the engaging state. Further, since the play of the attachment piece 24 is reduced by inserting the fitting portion 64 of the holding portion 58 into the attachment opening 56, the inflator case 22 is stabilized with respect to the retainer 40 when the instrument panel 10 is installed on the vehicle body. Thus, the retainer 40 and the inflator case 22 are difficult to come off.

The retainer 40 fills the gap of the mounting opening 56 through which the mounting piece 24 penetrates at the fitting portion 64, thereby improving the rigidity when the portion that becomes the airbag door 28 of the instrument panel 10 is pushed from the front side. Further, it is possible to prevent the generation of abnormal noise due to the interference between the retainer 40 and the mounting piece 24 when the vehicle is traveling. Further, even when a force is applied to the front wall portion 46 and the rear wall portion 47 from the inside when the airbag 26 is inflated, the wall portions 46, 47 are removed from the attachment piece 24 by the fitting portion 64 fitted in the attachment opening 56. Can be prevented. Accordingly, since the retainer 40 and the inflator case 22 can be prevented from being separated, the force of the inflating airbag 26 is efficiently transmitted to the airbag door 28, and the airbag door 28 is quickly broken from the instrument panel 10. The air bag 26 can be smoothly opened in the passenger compartment 16 by being opened.

Since the holding portion 58 is configured to be fitted into the attachment opening 56 by being displaced from the state in which the attachment opening 56 is opened, if the attachment opening 56 is left open, the inflator case 22 is inserted into the attachment opening 56. It does not get in the way when the mounting piece 24 is inserted. The retainer 40 has a gap remaining in the attachment opening 56 smaller than the extension dimension L of the latching portion 24b by the fitting portion 64 of the holding portion 58 fitted into the attachment opening 56 through which the insertion portion 24a of the attachment piece 24 passes. It is comprised so that it may become. Accordingly, the mounting opening 56 is formed so as to open with an opening width H equal to or greater than the extension dimension L of the latching portion 24b, and the opening width H of the mounting opening 56 is set so that the mounting piece 24 can be inserted without difficulty. Even so, the retaining portion 24 b of the attachment piece 24 does not pass through the attachment opening 56, so that the retainer 40 can be more easily removed from the attachment piece 24. Moreover, since the holding part 58 can maintain the state fitted in the attachment opening 56 by the engaging claw 64b of the fitting part 64 that hangs on the opening edge of the attachment opening 56, the retainer 40 is more difficult to be detached from the attachment piece 24. be able to. Further, when the holding portion 58 is fitted into the attachment opening 56, the retainer 40 is latched between the wall portions 46 and 47 of the retainer main body 42 and extending outward from the attachment opening 56 in the attachment piece 24. Since it is the structure which pinches | interposes the part 24b, the position of the attachment piece 24 can be regulated by the holding part 58 so as not to be displaced forward and backward. In the airbag device 20 according to the embodiment, a force is applied to the front wall portion 46 more than the rear wall portion 47 when the airbag 26 is inflated, but the holding portion 58 is configured to hold the hooking portion 24b of the front mounting piece 24. Since the position of the air bag 26 is restricted by being accommodated in the groove portion 66, the front wall portion 46 is prevented from being deformed by engagement with the attachment piece 24 that is prevented from being detached by fitting of the holding portion 58, and the force of the inflating airbag 26 is increased. Can be transmitted efficiently through the airbag door 28.

Since the retainer 40 is formed integrally with the retainer main body 42, the retainer 40 can reduce the number of parts and the labor of parts management does not change. In addition, since the plurality of fitting portions 64 are provided in one holding portion 58, the fitting portions 64 can be fitted into the plurality of attachment openings 56 according to the displacement of the holding portion 58, and the holding portion 58 is fitted. Time and effort can be reduced. The retainer 40 is configured to be bent by the integral hinge 60 and displace the posture of the holding portion 58 so as to be fitted into the mounting opening 56. Therefore, the retainer 40 has a molding posture that matches the opening direction of the molding die or the direction of releasing from the molding die. The holding part 58 can be integrally formed with the retainer main body 42, and even if the holding part 58 is provided, the cost required for the mold can be reduced.
