Description
密封余剰部を含む一側面に負極端子及び正極端子が形成されており、四角形の平面構造で形成された板状型電池セル(battery cell);
前記電池セルの電極端子に電気的に接続されており、電池パックの作動を制御し、前記密封余剰部上に搭載される保護回路モジュール(PCM);及び
熱溶融された状態で前記密封余剰部、PCM及び両側の外周面に印加された後、固化して形成されるパックケースであって、前記板状型電池セルの上面及び下面が開放された状態で、電池セルの密封余剰部、PCM及び両側の外周面を覆う構造のパックケース(pack case);
を含んでいる構成となっている。
(a)電池セルの電極端子を溶接によってPCMに接続するステップと、
(b)PCMを電池セルの密封余剰部上に搭載するステップと、
(c)電池セルを金型に装着するステップと、
(d)電池セルの密封余剰部、保護回路、及び両側の外周面にプラスチック樹脂を印加するステップと、
(e)電池セルを金型から取り出すステップと、
を含むことができる。

Claims (17)
- 四角形の平面構造で形成された、上面及び下面並びに前記上面と前記下面とを連結する第1側面、第2側面、第3側面、及び第4側面を有する板状型の電池セル(battery cell)であって、前記第2側面は前記第1側面に対向し、前記第3側面は前記第1側面と前記第2側面との間に配置されており、前記第4側面は前記第3側面に対向するとともに前記第1側面と前記第2側面との間に配置されており、密封余剰部を含む前記第1側面に負極端子及び正極端子が形成されている電池セルと、
前記電池セルの前記負極端子及び前記正極端子に電気的に接続されており、電池パックの作動を制御し、前記密封余剰部上に搭載される保護回路モジュール(PCM)と、
熱溶融された状態で前記密封余剰部、PCM並びに前記第3側面及び前記第4側面に印加された後、固化して形成されるパックケースであって、前記板状型の電池セルの上面及び下面が開放された状態で、電池セルの密封余剰部、PCM並びに前記第3側面及び前記第4側面を覆う構造のパックケース(pack case)と、
を含み、
前記パックケースが、前記PCM並びに前記第3側面及び前記第4側面と一体化されており、
前記負極端子及び前記正極端子は、前記第1側面及び前記密封余剰部とともに前記PCMを取り囲むように、折り曲げられており、
前記パックケースは、前記電池セルの前記第1側面及び前記PCMを覆う辺と、前記第3側面を覆う辺と、前記第4側面を覆う辺と、の3辺からなる構造であり、平面視でコ字状であることを特徴とする、電池パック。 - 前記板状型の電池セルは、角型二次電池またはパウチ型二次電池であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電池パック。
- 前記パウチ型二次電池は、樹脂層と金属層を含むラミネートシートに電極組立体が密封されている構造からなることを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の電池パック。
- 前記電池セルはリチウム二次電池であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電池パック。
- 前記パックケースの厚さは、電池セルの厚さと同一であるか、または10%以下の大きさで大きいことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電池パック。
- 前記PCMは、保護回路が印刷されている印刷回路基板(PCB)であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電池パック。
- 前記密封余剰部とPCMとの間に絶縁テープがさらに付着していることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電池パック。
- 前記絶縁テープは両面テープであることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の電池パック。
- 前記パックケースの素材はプラスチック樹脂であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電池パック。
- 前記プラスチック樹脂は熱可塑性樹脂であり、前記プラスチック樹脂の融点では、PCMに位置する素子の変形が誘発されないことを特徴とする、請求項9に記載の電池パック。
- 前記パックケースの素材は、前記密封余剰部、PCM並びに前記第3側面及び前記第4側面に印加された後、化学的反応または物理的反応によって固化する素材であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電池パック。
- 前記パックケースの密封余剰部と対応する一側面には、内部に収納したPCMの一部を外部に露出させる貫通口が形成されていることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電池パック。
- 前記PCMの一部は電池セル機能検査部(test point)であることを特徴とする、請求項12に記載の電池パック。
- 前記パックケースの一側面には、前記PCMから外部にバスバーまたはワイヤが導出され得るように、開口部が形成されていることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電池パック。
- 前記開口部は、パックケースの側面において、電池セルの密封余剰部と隣接する位置に形成されていることを特徴とする、請求項14に記載の電池パック。
- 請求項1〜15のいずれか一項に記載の電池パックを電源として含むことを特徴とする、モバイルデバイス。
- 前記モバイルデバイスは、ノートパソコン、ネットブック、タブレットPCまたはスマートパッドであることを特徴とする、請求項16に記載のモバイルデバイス。
