Description
本発明の他の態様によると、前記高周波減衰部は、高周波減衰膜が装荷された前記配線パターンの部分で構成される。
本発明の他の態様によると、前記高周波減衰膜は、カーボン及び又はフェライトを含む素材で構成される。
本発明の他の態様によると、前記高周波減衰部は、高周波信号の伝搬方向が所定の曲率をもって90度以上の角度まで曲がるよう構成された曲線状の導体パターンである。
本発明の他の態様によると、前記高周波減衰部は、高周波信号の伝搬方向が90度以上の角度まで屈曲するように構成された導体パターンである。
本発明の他の態様によると、前記フレキシブル配線板は、一の面に前記配線パターンが設けられ、他の面にグランドパターンが設けられており、前記高周波減衰部は、前記一の面に設けられた前記配線パターンの一部から所定の距離範囲にある前記他の面のグランドパターンの導体の一部を除去することにより構成される。
本発明の他の態様によると、前記一の面に設けられた前記配線パターンの前記一部は、前記配線パターンを構成する導体パターンの曲がり部分である。
本発明の他の態様によると、前記一の面に設けられた前記配線パターンの前記一部は、高周波信号の伝搬方向が所定の曲率をもって90度以上の角度まで曲がるよう構成された曲線状の導体パターンの曲がり部分である。
本発明の他の態様によると、前記一の面に設けられた前記配線パターンの前記一部は、高周波信号の伝搬方向が90度以上の角度まで屈曲するよう構成された導体パターンの曲がり部分である。
本発明の他の態様は、上記いずれかの光変調器と、少なくとも、当該光変調器に変調動作を行わせるための高周波信号を出力する電子回路と、を備える光送信装置である。
<第1の実施形態>
まず、本発明の第1の実施形態に係る光変調器について説明する。図1は、本発明の一実施形態に係る光変調器の構成を示す図である。
本光変調器100は、光変調素子102と、光変調素子102を収容する筺体104と、当該筺体104に設けられた後述するリードピン120、122、124、26と外部の回路基板との間で電気的接続を行うフレキシブル配線板(FPC)106と、光変調素子102に光を入射するための光ファイバ108と、光変調素子102から出力される光を筺体104の外部へ導く光ファイバ110と、を備える。
まず、図1に示す光変調器100に用いられるFPC106の第1の変形例について説明する。
次に、図1に示す光変調器100に用いられるFPC106の第2の変形例について説明する。
次に、図1に示す光変調器100に用いられるFPC106の第3の変形例について説明する。
次に、図1に示す光変調器100に用いられるFPC106の第4の変形例について説明する。
次に、本発明の第2の実施形態について説明する。本実施形態は、第1の実施形態に示す光変調器100(図4〜図7に示すいずれかの変形例に係るFPCを用いるものを含む)を搭載した光送信装置である。
Claims (5)
- 回路基板との間で電気的接続を行うフレキシブル配線板を備えた光変調器であって、
内部に収容された光変調素子の複数の電極にそれぞれ接続されたピンを複数備える筐体を有し、
前記フレキシブル配線板は、前記ピンに接続されて当該ピンまで高周波信号を伝搬する複数の配線パターンを備え、かつ、一の面に前記配線パターンが設けられ、他の面の前記配線パターンと対向する部分にグランドパターンが設けられており、
前記フレキシブル配線板に備えられた全ての前記配線パターンに、前記一の面に設けられた前記配線パターンの一部から所定の距離範囲にある前記他の面のグランドパターンの導体の一部を除去することにより、前記一部を伝搬する高周波信号を他の部分よりも発散させて前記高周波信号に付加的な損失を与える、高周波減衰部が設けられている、
光変調器。 - 前記一の面に設けられた前記配線パターンの前記一部は、前記配線パターンを構成する導体パターンの曲がり部分である、
請求項1に記載の光変調器。 - 前記一の面に設けられた前記配線パターンの前記一部は、高周波信号の伝搬方向が所定の曲率をもって90度以上の角度まで曲がるよう構成された曲線状の導体パターンの曲がり部分である、
請求項1に記載の光変調器。 - 前記一の面に設けられた前記配線パターンの前記一部は、高周波信号の伝搬方向が90度以上の角度まで屈曲するよう構成された導体パターンの曲がり部分である、
請求項1に記載の光変調器。 - 請求項1ないし4のいずれか一項に記載の光変調器と、
少なくとも、当該光変調器に変調動作を行わせるための高周波信号を出力する電子回路と、
を備える、
光送信装置。
