Description
本特許出願は、2013年9月17日に出願された米国特許仮出願第61/878,723号の優先権を主張する。
本発明は、可変光学性能を有する眼用レンズ器具、より詳しくは、いくつかの実施形態において、液晶素子を利用する可変光学挿入物を有する眼用レンズの製造を記載する。
従来、コンタクトレンズズなどの眼用レンズは、所定の光学品質を提供してきた。例えば、コンタクトレンズは、以下の、視覚補正機能性、美容増進効果、及び治療的効果の1つ又は複数を提供し得るが、視覚補正機能と組み合わせられる。各機能は、レンズの物理的特性によって与えられる。基本的に、屈折品質をレンズに組み込む設計が、視覚補正機能性を提供する。レンズに色素を組み込むことにより、美容増進効果を与えることができる。レンズに活性薬剤を組み込むことにより、治療的機能性を与えることができる。
本発明を目的とする明細書本文及び特許請求の範囲において、以下の定義が適用される、様々な用語が使用され得る。
図1を参照すると、密封及び封入された挿入物を含む眼用器具を形成するための装置100が描写されている。この装置は、例示的な前方湾曲鋳型102及び適合する後方湾曲鋳型101を含む。眼用器具の可変光学挿入物104及び本体103は、前方湾曲鋳型102と後方湾曲鋳型101内部に配置され得る。いくつかの例示的な実施形態において、本体103の材料は、ハイドロゲル材料であってよく、可変光学挿入物104が、本材料によって全表面が囲まれてよい。
図3Aを参照すると、アイテム300である、2つの異なる成形されたレンズ部品のレンズ効果の図示が見られ得る。すでに言及したように、本発明分野の可変光学挿入物は、2つの異なって成形されたレンズ部品内に、電極及び液晶層システムを封入することによって形成され得る。電極及び液晶層システムは、350にて図示するように、レンズ部品間の空間を占有し得る。320にて前方湾曲部品が見られ、310にて後方湾曲部品が見られ得る。
マイクロインジェクション成形の実施形態には、例えば、約6mm〜10mmの直径、約6mm〜10mmの前方表面半径、約6mm〜10mmの後方表面半径、及び約0.050mm〜1.0mmの中心厚を有するレンズを形成するために使用され得るポリ(4−メチルペント−1−エン)コポリマー樹脂が含まれ得る。いくつかの例示的な実施形態には、約8.9mmの直径、約7.9mmの前表面半径、約7.8mmの後方表面半径、0.200mmの中心厚、及び約0.050mmのエッジ厚を有する挿入物が含まれる。

本明細書で議論した液晶層型に一致する特徴を有し得る多くの材料が存在し得る。有益な毒性を有する液晶が好ましく、天然に由来したコレステリル系液晶材料が有用であり得ることが想定され得る。他の実施例において、眼用挿入物の封入技術と材料が、典型的に、ネマチック又はコレステリックN又はスメチック液晶又は液晶混合物に関する広いカテゴリーのものであり得る、LCDディスプレイ関連材料を含み得る材料の幅広い選択が許容され得る。TN、VA、PSVA、IPS及びFFS適用のためのMerck Specialty chemicals Licristal混合物のような市販されている混合物、及び他の市販されている混合物が、液晶層を形成するために、材料選択を形成し得る。
記載した例示的な実施形態の多くにおいて、眼用レンズ内の液晶層は、挿入物境界にて、様々な様式にて整列される必要があり得る。例えばアライメントは、挿入物の境界に対して平行であるか、又は垂直であってよく、このアライメントは、様々な表面の適切な処理によって得られてよい。処理には、アライメント層による液晶(LC)を含む挿入物の基質のコーティングを含み得る。これらのアライメント層を本明細書で記載する。
誘電性膜及び誘電体を本明細書で記載する。非限定的な例によって、液晶可変光学部分中で使用される誘電膜又は誘電体は、本明細書で記載される本発明に適切な特徴を有する。誘電体は、誘電体として、単独で、又は一緒に機能する、1つ又は複数の材料層を含み得る。複数の層を、単一の誘電体よりも優れた誘電性性能を達成するために使用し得る。

前記液晶材料を含む層の少なくとも第1表面は湾曲している、コンタクトレンズ器具。
挿入物前方湾曲部品及び挿入物後方湾曲部品であって、前記前方湾曲部品の後方表面が第1曲率を有し、前記後方湾曲部品の前方表面が第2曲率を有する、挿入物前方湾曲部品及び挿入物後方湾曲部品と、
非光学ゾーンを含む少なくとも1つの領域中で、前記挿入物に埋め込まれるエネルギー源と、

(24) 前記第1曲率が、前記第2曲率と異なる、実施態様21に記載の眼用レンズ器具。
(25) 前記レンズがコンタクトレンズである、実施態様21に記載の眼用レンズ器具。

(33) 前記第1曲率が、前記第2曲率と異なる、実施態様32に記載の眼用レンズ器具。
(34) 前記レンズがコンタクトレンズである、実施態様31に記載の眼用レンズ器具。

前記前方湾曲部品に近接する第1電極材料層と、

湾曲前方表面及び湾曲後方表面であって、前記前方表面及び後方表面は、1つのチャンバーの少なくとも一部分を境界付けるように構成される、湾曲前方表面及び湾曲後方表面と、
非光学ゾーンを含む少なくとも1つの領域中で、前記可変光学挿入物に埋め込まれたエネルギー源と、
前記少なくとも1つのチャンバー内に位置した液晶材料を含む層であって、前記層は、前記可変光学挿入物の少なくとも第1部分にわたる屈折率が半径依存で変化するパターンで前記層内の液晶分子の静止配向が整列される液晶材料の領域を含む、層と、を含み、
前記液晶材料を含む層の光学効果は、挿入物表面の異なる半径の効果によって補われる、眼用レンズ器具。 - 前記光学挿入物の少なくとも前記第1部分にわたる屈折率は、半径方向の寸法への放物線状の依存性を有する、請求項1に記載の眼用レンズ器具。
- 前記レンズがコンタクトレンズである、請求項2に記載の眼用レンズ器具。

前記湾曲後方表面に近接する第1電極材料層と、

非光学ゾーンを含む少なくとも1つの領域中で、前記挿入物に埋め込まれるエネルギー源と、を含み、
