Claims (15)
- 患者内に埋め込まれた神経刺激器を制御するように構成された外部制御デバイスであって、
ユーザから入力を受信するように構成されたユーザインタフェースと、
前記神経刺激器と通信するように構成された遠隔測定回路と、
ユーザからの前記入力に応答してパルス毎ベースでパルスパターンをカスタマイズするように構成され、かつカスタマイズされたパルスパターンに従って患者に電気刺激エネルギを送出するように前記遠隔測定回路を通じて前記神経刺激器に命令するように構成された制御回路と、
を含む、外部制御デバイス。 - 前記制御回路は、ユーザからの入力に応答して前記パルスパターン内の複数の隣接パルス対の間のパルス間間隔を独立に定めるように構成されている、請求項1に記載の外部制御デバイス。
- 前記制御回路は、ユーザからの入力に応答して前記パルスパターン内のパルスの幅を独立に定めるように構成されている、請求項1又は2に記載の外部制御デバイス。
- 前記制御回路は、ユーザからの入力に応答して前記パルスパターン内のパルスの振幅を独立に定めるように構成されている、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の外部制御デバイス。
- 前記制御回路は、ユーザからの入力に応答して前記パルスパターン内のパルスを送出する電極組合せを独立に定めるように構成されている、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の外部制御デバイス。
- 前記制御回路は、ユーザからの入力に応答して前記パルスパターンにパルスを追加するか又は該パルスパターンからパルスを削減するように構成されている、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の外部制御デバイス。
- 前記制御回路は、ユーザからの入力に応答して前記パルスパターンのベースライン刺激パラメータに適用される倍数因子を調節することにより、パルス毎ベースで該パルスパターンをカスタマイズするように構成されている、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の外部制御デバイス。
- 前記神経刺激器は、特定用途向け集積回路(ASIC)を含み、前記制御回路は、前記カスタマイズされたパルスパターンを発生させるように該ASICをプログラムするように構成されている、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の外部制御デバイス。
- 前記ユーザインタフェースは、前記パルスパターンを表示するように構成され、
前記制御回路は、ユーザがポインティング要素を用いて表示された前記パルスパターンの一部分をドラッグすることを可能にすることにより、該パルスパターンをカスタマイズするように構成されている、請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の外部制御デバイス。 - 前記制御回路は、発見的安全性/規制規則のセットに従って前記パルスパターンのカスタマイズ化を制限するように構成されている、請求項1〜9のいずれか1項に記載の外部制御デバイス。
- 複数の異なるカスタマイズされたパルスパターンを格納するように構成されたメモリを更に含み、
前記制御回路は、ユーザからの入力に応答して前記カスタマイズされたパルスパターンのうちの1又は2以上を選択し、選択された前記1又は2以上のパルスパターンを前記メモリから呼び出し、かつ呼び出した前記1又は2以上のパルスパターンに従って電気刺激エネルギを送出するように前記遠隔測定回路を通じて前記神経刺激器に命令するように構成されている、請求項1〜10のいずれか1項に記載の外部制御デバイス。 - 前記制御回路は、ユーザからの入力に応答してパルス毎ベースで別のパルスパターンをカスタマイズするように構成され、かつ電気刺激エネルギを該カスタマイズされたパルスパターンとカスタマイズされた別のパルスパターンとに従ってそれぞれ2つのタイミングチャネル内で同時に送出するように前記神経刺激器に命令するように構成されている、請求項1〜11のいずれか1項に記載の外部制御デバイス。
- 前記制御回路は、ユーザからの入力に応答してそれぞれのタイミングチャネル内の前記カスタマイズされたパルスパターンと前記カスタマイズされた別のパルスパターンとの間の位相オフセットを定めるように構成されている、請求項12に記載の外部制御デバイス。
- 前記制御回路は、ユーザからの入力に応答して、均一なパルス速度、パルス幅、パルス振幅を有する連続パルスパターンである緊張性パルスパターンの全てのパルスに対する刺激パラメータを大域的に修正するように構成され、かつ該緊張性パルスパターンに従って患者に電気刺激エネルギを送出するように前記神経刺激器に命令するように構成されている、請求項1〜13のいずれか1項に記載の外部制御デバイス。
- 前記制御回路は、複数のユーザにアクセス可能な中央データベースに前記カスタマイズされたパルスパターンをエクスポートするように構成されている、請求項1〜14のいずれか1項に記載の外部制御デバイス。
