Claims (18)

複数の個々の電気パルス列を複数のタイミングチャネル内で前記複数の電気端子にそれぞれ出力するように構成された変調出力回路であって、前記タイミングチャネルの各々がそれぞれの電気パルスが特定の特性を有することを妨げている、前記変調出力回路と、
複数の前記パルス列を前記電気端子の共通セットに出力し、それによって該電気端子の共通セットで前記特定の特性を有する組合せ電気パルス列を生成する方式で前記変調出力回路を制御するように構成された制御回路と、
を含むことを特徴とする神経変調システム。 - 前記特定の特性は、最大値を超えるパルス振幅であり、前記組合せ電気パルス列は、該最大値を超える該パルス振幅を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の神経変調システム。
- 前記特定の特性は、最大値を超えるパルス繰返し数であり、前記組合せ電気パルス列は、該最大値を超える該パルス繰返し数を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の神経変調システム。
- 前記特定の特性は、変化するパルス繰返し数であり、前記組合せ電気パルス列は、変化するパルス繰返し数を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の神経変調システム。
- 複数の前記パルス列のパルスが、前記変化するパルス繰返し数を有する前記組合せ電気パルス列を生成するために交互配置されることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の神経変調システム。
- 複数の前記パルス列は、異なるパルス繰返し数を有する複数のバーストパターンを備えた前記組合せ電気パルス列を生成するために連続的にバーストされることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の神経変調システム。
- 前記電気端子の共通セットは、1つのみの電気端子を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の神経変調システム。
- 前記電気端子の共通セットは、1つよりも多い電気端子を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の神経変調システム。
- 前記特定の特性を定める入力をユーザから受け入れるように構成されたユーザインタフェースを更に含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の神経変調システム。
- 複数の刺激プログラムを格納するように構成されたメモリを更に含み、
前記制御回路は、前記刺激プログラムの各々に対して前記複数のタイミングチャネルをプログラムするように構成されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の神経変調システム。 - 前記複数の電気端子と、前記変調出力回路と、前記制御回路とを収容するケーシングを更に含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の神経変調システム。
- 患者に治療を与える方法であって、
前記患者内に埋め込まれた電極の共通セットに複数のタイミングチャネルで複数の電気パルス列をそれぞれ送出し、それによって該電気端子の該共通セットで組合せ電気パルス列を生成して該患者に前記治療を与える段階、
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 複数の前記パルス列の変調パルスが、前記組合せパルス列が該複数のパルス列のパルス振幅の和に等しいパルス振幅を有するように互いに重なることを特徴とする請求項12に記載の方法。
- 複数の前記パルス列の変調パルスが、前記組合せパルス列が該複数のパルス列のパルス繰返し数の和に等しいパルス繰返し数を有するように交互配置されることを特徴とする請求項12に記載の方法。
- 複数の前記パルス列は、異なるパルス繰返し数を有する複数のバーストパターンを用いて前記組合せ電気パルス列を生成するように連続的にバーストされることを特徴とする請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記電極の共通セットは、1つのみの電極を含むことを特徴とする請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記電極の共通セットは、1つよりも多い電極を含むことを特徴とする請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記組合せパルス列の特性を定める入力をユーザから受け入れる段階を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項12に記載の方法。
