Description
The present invention relates to a laminate for laser recording which develops color by laser irradiation.
Various markings such as lot number, serial number, expiration date, warranty period, bar code, etc. are applied to the surface of packaging, containers, electronic parts, automobile parts, cards, labels and the like. Stamps, ink jets, engravings and the like are used in terms of cost and convenience. However, since the stamp and the ink jet are marked on the surface, they may be unreadable due to rubbing, or may be a problem of hygiene such as adhesion of peeled ink to food or the like, or a problem of contamination. On the other hand, although there is no problem in hygiene, marking has poor visibility and is difficult to use.
In recent years, techniques of laser marking have been developed. Laser marking uses laser light to directly apply letters, numerals, registered trademarks, barcodes, etc., and images on the surface of an object to be printed by thermal decomposition, vaporization, or peeling. It is a printing method that does not use a solvent like ink jet or stamp, excellent in durability without rubbing and peeling, and non-contact printing, so there is stable printing without distortion, variation, or missing of characters. It is characterized in that it does not require consumables such as ink jet inks and ink ribbons.
The laser marking currently performed mainly uses a carbonic acid laser having a wavelength of 10600 nm, a YAG laser having a wavelength of 1064 nm, a YVO 4 laser, a fiber laser having a wavelength of 1090 nm, and the like. Carbonated lasers cause damage to PET, nylon, etc. by penetrating the surface substrate of the object or generating burnt residue, etc. However, inexpensive polyolefin-based groups such as polyethylene, polypropylene etc. Does not damage the material. In addition, the carbon dioxide laser device is less expensive than the YAG laser device. On the other hand, YAG laser, YVO 4 laser and fiber laser can penetrate the surface substrate of the object and print on the ink layer and metal layer in the middle layer, so there is little damage to the surface substrate, but normal In ink, there is a problem that visibility is not enough.
Patent Document 1 discloses tin dioxide doped with oxides such as antimony and arsenic, and Patent Document 2 discloses a pigment of tin oxide mixed oxide doped with antimony as a method of improving visibility. Many black coloring properties due to marking are insufficient, and many compounds containing tin, antimony, arsenic and the like fall under the category of poisons and poisons, which may cause harm to the human body, resulting in safety problems. Patent Document 3 discloses a copper-molybdenum composite oxide, but since this pigment is very expensive and has a fairly yellowish color, a laser marking coating liquid using it has become yellowish or dull. It becomes a color, has limitations in design, and is poor in light resistance, and has a problem that it becomes black over time or its density drops after printing. Therefore, these disclosures can still be applied to inexpensive packages for food applications and medical and pharmaceutical applications because the safety and whiteness of the laminate are low, expensive, and poor in resistance. It is not a level.
Although the ink composition for laser recordings which contains a bismuth compound and a titanium oxide is disclosed by patent document 4, although it colors with the laser beam with a small wavelength like YAG laser or YVO 4 laser, 9.3-10 It does not develop color with a laser beam with a large wavelength of 6 μm. Patent document 5 describes a molding material which can be described or labeled using a laser beam containing copper hydroxide phosphate or molybdenum (IV) oxide, and in patent document 6 a laser beam containing molybdenum trioxide. Although resin compositions which can be marked by irradiation are disclosed, these are used as molding materials or coating materials, and printed on the surface of the molding materials or the coating applied on the surface of the object to be coated as the coating material There is no description or suggestion as a laminate. WO-A-2005 / 086376 describes compositions which form markings by exposure to energy comprising an oxygen-containing transition metal compound, mono-, di- or triethanolamine or dimethylethanolamine and an aqueous based solvent, coated groups thereof Although a material is disclosed, since the marking surface is not protected, there is a possibility that the light resistance and the durability may be deteriorated, and therefore, it can not be used as a package. Therefore, even with the materials proposed for these, inexpensive polyolefin-based or polyamide-based substrates can be used as packages for food applications and medical and pharmaceutical applications, and these substrates are damaged. There is proposed a laminate for laser recording which can use an inexpensive carbon dioxide laser light irradiation apparatus capable of irradiating a wavelength of 9.3 to 10.6 μm, has a high whiteness, is excellent in resistance, and can obtain sufficient color development. In addition, as these packages, ink-jet and thermal type inks and imprints are still used.
An object of the present invention is to provide a laminate for laser recording, which is high in safety, high in both whiteness and light resistance, and high in printing density after irradiation with a laser beam.
The present inventors have found that the above-mentioned problems can be solved by the ink composition for laser recording containing molybdenum trioxide and titanium oxide, and have completed the present invention.

Among them, metal oxides, copper compounds, and composite oxides are preferable because the printing density after irradiation with laser light is high. In particular, neodymium oxide, copper oxalate, bismuth hydroxide, bismuth oxide, bismuth subcarbonate, bismuth nitrate, and copper-tungsten composite oxide are more preferable. These other inorganic compounds may be used alone or in combination of two or more. However, the copper-molybdenum composite oxide has a considerable yellowish color, and the recording laminate itself using it also becomes yellowish and dull, moreover it turns blackish over time (poor light resistance), and laser light irradiation occurs. Since the print density of the later recording medium also decreases, it is not suitable in the present invention.
The content of molybdenum trioxide in the ink composition is preferably 0.1 to 95% by weight in terms of solid content. More preferably, it is 0.5 to 90% by weight, still more preferably 1 to 85% by weight. When the content of molybdenum trioxide is less than 0.1% by weight, the printing density after the laser light irradiation is low, and when it is more than 95% by weight, the ink film becomes too hard and fragile.
Furthermore, it is preferable that the sum total of molybdenum trioxide and titanium oxide in the ink composition and other inorganic compounds be 1 to 99% by weight in terms of solid content. More preferably, it is 2 to 95% by weight, and more preferably 5 to 90% by weight. If it is less than 1% by weight, the printing density after the laser light irradiation is low, and if it is more than 99% by weight, the ink film becomes too hard and brittle.
The ink composition may contain various solvents or water in order to impart appropriate fluidity at the time of printing and to adjust the viscosity. Any component may be used as long as the components constituting the ink composition are dissolved or dispersed to maintain fluidity, and any known organic solvent, water and the like can be appropriately selected and used.
In particular, it is more preferable to contain an organic solvent. The content of the resin component in the ink composition is 3 to 99% by weight in terms of solid content. More preferably, it is 5 to 90% by weight, and more preferably 7 to 85% by weight. If it is less than 3% by weight, the adhesion to the substrate is poor, and the blistering and the stability over time decrease. Among them, a printing process by gravure printing or flexo printing is more preferable. For example, not only the step of providing a laser printing layer, but also the step of providing the laser reflection layer and the step of providing the covering layer may be carried out using a multicolor gravure printing machine by selecting a printing step by gravure printing or flexographic printing. The printing process becomes possible, and the laser printing layer, the reflection layer, and the covering layer can be provided in line in one pass.
In the case of a printing process using a multicolor gravure printer, in addition to the laser printing layer, other information such as patterns can be printed inline simultaneously with the printing ink layer. For example, a maker's company name, brand name, product name, symbol, mark, trademark, contents, component indication, design of sales promotion, etc. can be added.

More preferably, it is 0.1 to 3 μm. If it is smaller than 0.01 μm, sufficient concentration can not be obtained. When it is larger than 10 μm, the blocking resistance of the coated material to which the ink composition is applied is reduced.
The laser printing layer does not necessarily have to be the entire surface, and may be only a portion to be printed. White gravure paper with a thickness suitable for printing, aluminum foil of about 1 to 1000 μm, aluminum deposited film such as aluminum deposited PET, aluminum deposited CPP, aluminum deposited PE, aluminum laminated paper, foamed polystyrene sheet of about 0.03 to 3 mm Etc. The coating layer etc. which apply | coated the white ink are 0.01-10 micrometers. More preferably, it is 0.1 to 3 μm. If it is smaller than 0.01 μm, the function as a reflective layer is not exhibited, and a sufficient concentration can not be obtained. When it is larger than 10 μm, although it is sufficient as a reflective layer, the blocking resistance of the coated material to which the ink composition is applied is reduced.
Although the thickness of the said coating layer (C) is a range which does not inhibit irradiation of the laser beam of a wavelength of 9.3-10.6 micrometers, although it does not have a restriction | limiting in particular, 0.01-300 micrometers is preferable. The film thickness is preferably 5 to 300 μm, the resin coating by extrusion lamination is 1 to 100 μm, and the varnish coating is preferably 0.01 to 100 μm.
The ink composition for laser recording can be produced by a known method by uniformly dissolving or dispersing molybdenum trioxide, titanium oxide, other inorganic compounds, resins, various additives and the like in a solvent. These devices may be used alone or in combination of two or more. When air bubbles or coarse particles are contained in the ink composition, the ink composition is preferably removed using a known filter, centrifuge or the like in order to reduce printability and print quality.
The viscosity of the ink composition is not particularly limited as long as it does not affect printing. It is preferable that it is 10-1,000 mPa * s at 25 degreeC, when the manufacture aptitude of an ink composition, handling, etc. are considered.
The viscosity is a value measured using a commercially available viscometer such as a Brookfield viscometer.
The ink composition can be coated as it is, but it can be adjusted to a desired viscosity and used by diluting with a dilution solvent according to the coating conditions and the coating effect. The viscosity in this case is preferably 10 to 40 seconds at 25 ° C. with Zahn cup # 3 (manufactured by Rigosha Co., Ltd.).

In the recording material of the present invention, when a laser beam having a wavelength of 9.3 to 10.6 μm is incident on the laser recording laminate from the coating layer (C) side to the laser recording laminate. The laser reflection layer (B) reflects the laser light and guides the laser light again to the laser printing layer (A) for marking.
That is, laser light having a wavelength of 9.3 to 10.6 μm is made incident on the laser printing layer (A) from the coating layer (C) side of the laminate for laser recording, whereby the energy of the laser printing layer (A) is obtained. By causing the ink composition to develop color, the laser beam transmitted through the layer is reflected by the laser reflection layer (B), and energy is again applied to the laser printing layer (A) to improve energy efficiency and sufficiently. Irradiation with laser light is performed, the printing density after the irradiation with laser light becomes high, and the recording medium is improved in visibility.

The laminate for laser recording of the present invention has absorption to a laser beam having a wavelength of 9.3 to 10.6 μm. Especially, it can use suitably for the carbonic acid laser which has a wavelength of 10.6 micrometers (10640 nm).
A commercially available laser marker can be used for laser light irradiation. For example, as a carbonic acid laser, ML-Z9510 (manufactured by KEYENCE CORPORATION) and the like can be mentioned.
Depending on the laser irradiation conditions described below, different print densities can be obtained for carbon dioxide lasers.
Condition 1 = Scan speed: Laser irradiation speed, mm / sec
Condition 2 = Laser power: Ratio to maximum output,%
The recording laminate of the present invention can obtain good printing results under the following laser irradiation conditions.
That is, scan speed = 50 to 5000 mm / sec,
The laser power is 3 to 95%.
If the scan speed is slower than 50 mm / sec, productivity will deteriorate, and if it is faster than 5000 mm / sec, the print density will be insufficient. When the laser power is less than 3%, the printing density is insufficient, and when it is more than 95%, damage to the coating layer or the outermost layer or the printing substrate tends to be large.
