Claims (19)
- 埋込可能電気刺激リードであって、
近位端部分、遠位端部分、遠位先端、及び縦方向長さを有する非導電性リード本体と、
前記リード本体の前記遠位端部分に沿って配置され、該リード本体の前記遠位先端上に配置された先端電極を含む複数の電極と、を含み、
該先端電極は、
外側刺激面、近位端、閉鎖遠位端、外周、及び縦方向長さを有する電極本体と、
前記電極本体内に定められ、前記電極本体の前記近位端内の開口部から内向きに延びる内部管腔と、
前記外側刺激面を通して形成され、かつ前記内部管腔内に開く複数の側部開口と、を含み、
前記リード本体の一部分が、前記内部管腔内にかつ前記電極本体の前記近位端内の前記開口部を通して前記複数の側部開口の中に配置され、該内部管腔及び該複数の側部開口内の該リード本体の該部分が、該リード本体の前記遠位先端上での前記先端電極の保持を容易にし、
前記埋込可能電気刺激リードは、更に、
前記リード本体の前記近位端部分に沿って配置された複数の端子と、
前記複数の端子を前記複数の電極に電気的に結合する複数の導体と、
を含むことを特徴とする埋込可能電気刺激リード。 - 前記先端電極は、前記内部管腔に定められたチャネルを更に含み、該チャネルは、該内部管腔の隣接部分よりも深く前記電極本体の中に延び、該チャネルは、該電極本体の前記外周の少なくとも25%に沿って延びることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の埋込可能電気刺激リード。
- 前記チャネルは、前記電極本体の前記外周全体の周りに延びることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の埋込可能電気刺激リード。
- 前記チャネルは、前記複数の側部開口のうちの少なくとも1つの少なくとも一部分と交差することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の埋込可能電気刺激リード。
- 前記チャネルは、前記複数の側部開口の各々の少なくとも一部分と交差することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の埋込可能電気刺激リード。
- 前記複数の側部開口は、少なくとも3つの側部開口を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の埋込可能電気刺激リード。
- 前記複数の電極は、少なくとも1つのリング電極を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の埋込可能電気刺激リード。
- 前記複数の電極は、少なくとも1つのセグメント電極を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の埋込可能電気刺激リード。
- 前記内部管腔は、前記電極本体の前記縦方向長さの少なくとも75%に沿って延びることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の埋込可能電気刺激リード。
- 前記先端電極は、前記リード本体と等直径のものであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の埋込可能電気刺激リード。
- 請求項1に記載の埋込可能電気刺激リードと、
前記埋込可能電気刺激リードに結合可能な制御モジュールであって、ハウジング及び前記ハウジング内に配置された電子サブアセンブリを含む制御モジュールと、
前記埋込可能電気刺激リードを受け入れるためのコネクタと、を含み、
前記コネクタは、
前記埋込可能電気刺激リードの前記リード本体の前記近位端部分を受け入れるように構成かつ配置されたポートを定めるコネクタハウジングと、
前記ポートに配置された複数のコネクタ接点であって、前記リード本体の前記近位端部分が該ポートによって受け入れられた時に、該リード本体の該近位端部分に沿って配置された前記複数の端子に結合するように構成かつ配置された前記複数のコネクタ接点と、を含む、
ことを特徴とする電気刺激システム。 - 前記埋込可能電気刺激リードと前記制御モジュールの両方に結合可能なリード延長部を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項11に記載の電気刺激システム。
- 埋込可能電気刺激リードであって、
近位端部分、遠位端部分、遠位先端、及び縦方向長さを有するリード本体と、
前記リード本体の前記遠位端部分に沿って配置され、該リード本体の前記遠位先端上に配置された先端電極を含む複数の電極と、を含み、
前記先端電極は、
外側刺激面、近位端、閉鎖遠位端、外周、及び縦方向長さを有する電極本体と、
前記電極本体内に定められ、かつ該電極本体の前記近位端内の開口部から内向きに延びる内部管腔であって、該内部管腔に沿って形成され該内部管腔の隣接部分よりも深く該電極本体の中に延びる複数の縦方向溝を定め、該複数の縦方向溝の各々が、該電極本体の前記縦方向長さと平行である方向に該内部管腔に沿って延びる前記内部管腔と、を含み、 前記リード本体の一部分が、前記内部管腔内にかつ前記電極本体の前記近位端内の前記開口部を通して前記複数の縦方向溝の中に配置され、該内部管腔内の該リード本体の該部分及び該複数の縦方向溝が、該リード本体の前記遠位先端上での前記先端電極の保持を容易にし、
前記埋込可能電気刺激リードは、更に、
前記リード本体の前記近位端部分に沿って配置された複数の端子と、
複数の導体であって、該複数の導体の各導体が前記複数の端子の各々を前記複数の電極のうちの少なくとも1つに電気的に結合する前記複数の導体と、
を含むことを特徴とする埋込可能電気刺激リード。 - 前記複数の縦方向溝のうちの少なくとも1つが、前記内部管腔の前記近位端内の前記開口部から延びることを特徴とする請求項13に記載の埋込可能電気刺激リード。
- 前記複数の縦方向溝の各々が、前記電極本体の前記縦方向長さの少なくとも50%に沿って延びることを特徴とする請求項13に記載の埋込可能電気刺激リード。
- 前記先端電極は、前記リード本体と等直径のものであることを特徴とする請求項13に記載の埋込可能電気刺激リード。
- 前記先端電極は、前記内部管腔に定められたチャネルを更に含み、該チャネルは、該内部管腔の隣接部分よりも深く前記電極本体の中に延び、該チャネルは、該電極本体の前記外周の少なくとも25%に沿って延びることを特徴とする請求項13に記載の埋込可能電気刺激リード。
- 前記チャネルは、前記電極本体の前記外周全体の周りに延びることを特徴とする請求項17に記載の埋込可能電気刺激リード。
- 前記チャネルは、前記複数の縦方向溝のうちの少なくとも1つの少なくとも一部分と交差することを特徴とする請求項17に記載の埋込可能電気刺激リード。
