The
発光装置1aの各構成要素については、以下に、より詳細に説明する。
Each component of the
The
The
The
In the
第1導電型半導体層は、単層構造に限らず、多層構造でもよい。また、第2導電型半導体層は、単層構造に限らず、多層構造でもよい。 The first conductivity type semiconductor layer is not limited to a single layer structure, and may have a multilayer structure. The second conductivity type semiconductor layer is not limited to a single layer structure, and may be a multilayer structure.
The
The chip size of the
実装基板2は、複数の発光素子3を実装する基板である。「実装する」とは、複数の発光素子3を配置して機械的に接続すること及び電気的に接続することを含む概念である。
The mounting
The mounting
The
発光装置1aにおいて、発光素子3は、実装基板2に接合部5を介して接合されている。これにより、発光装置1aは、発光素子3が実装基板2に機械的に接続されている。接合部5の材料は、発光素子3から放射される光に対する透過率が高い材料が好ましく、例えば、シリコーン樹脂、エポキシ樹脂、シリコーン樹脂とエポキシ樹脂とのハイブリッド材料等を採用することができる。これにより、接合部5は、発光素子3から放射される光を通すことができる。
In the
発光装置1aは、支持体20における発光素子3の搭載用領域に、発光素子3が接合部5を介して接合されている。
In the
支持体20を構成するセラミック基板21は、平板状の形状に形成されている。セラミック基板21は、光の拡散透過性を有しており、発光素子3から放射される光を透過したり、拡散したりする。セラミック基板21の材質としては、例えば、透光性セラミックスを採用することができる。透光性セラミックスとしては、例えば、アルミナセラミックス等を採用することができる。透光性セラミックスは、バインダ、添加物等の種類や濃度によって、透過率、反射率、屈折率及び熱伝導率を調整することも可能である。
The
The

The
The particle size of the alumina particles is a value obtained from a number-based particle size distribution curve. The number-based particle size distribution curve is obtained by measuring the particle size distribution by an image imaging method. Specifically, the number-based particle size distribution curve is obtained by observing with a scanning electron microscope (SEM), obtaining an SEM image, and performing image processing on the SEM image. (Axis average diameter) and the number. In this number-based particle size distribution curve, the particle size value when the integrated value is 50% is called the median diameter (d 50 ), and the particle size of the alumina particles means the median diameter.
なお、理論上、アルミナ基板における球形のアルミナ粒子の粒径と反射率との関係は、粒径が小さくなるほど反射率が高くなる傾向にある。 Theoretically, the relationship between the particle size of the spherical alumina particles on the alumina substrate and the reflectance tends to increase as the particle size decreases.

Further, the phosphor particles are not limited to one kind of yellow phosphor particles, and two kinds of yellow phosphor particles having different emission peak wavelengths may be employed. The
蛍光体粒子は、平均粒径が、例えば、1μm〜10μmの範囲にあることが好ましい。蛍光体粒子は、平均粒径が大きい方が、欠陥密度が小さく、エネルギ損失が少なくなって発光効率が高くなる傾向にある。このため、蛍光体粒子は、発光効率の観点から、平均粒径が5μm以上のものを採用することが好ましい。蛍光体粒子の平均粒径は、動的光散乱法により測定される体積基準での平均粒子径である。 The phosphor particles preferably have an average particle size in the range of 1 μm to 10 μm, for example. As the phosphor particles have a larger average particle diameter, the defect density tends to be smaller, energy loss is reduced, and the luminous efficiency tends to be higher. For this reason, it is preferable to employ phosphor particles having an average particle diameter of 5 μm or more from the viewpoint of luminous efficiency. The average particle diameter of the phosphor particles is an average particle diameter on a volume basis measured by a dynamic light scattering method.
