Description
The present invention relates to a radiation measuring apparatus capable of discriminating a γ-ray peak of a target nuclide obtained from a γ-ray energy distribution from a γ-ray peak of an interfering nuclide, presence / absence of fuel debris using the same, position measurement apparatus, and presence / absence of fuel debris And a position measuring method.
In response to the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi NPS in March 2011, fuel debris detection technology that can be applied to reactor pressure vessels, reactor containment vessels, pressure suppression chambers, and torus chambers is required. It has been. As one method for estimating the presence or absence of fuel debris, there is a method of measuring specific radiation emitted from the fuel debris. Typical examples are Ce-144 and Eu-154. There are reports that fuel debris was investigated by measuring the gamma rays emitted from Ce-144 in the accident at
In general environments such as laboratories, nuclide analysis using Ge semiconductor detectors with excellent energy resolution is possible, so it is possible to discriminate between Eu-154 and thumb peak of interfering nuclides. It is difficult to apply from the viewpoints of ease of use, maintainability, detectors including a refrigerator, and device size.

However, Non-Patent
Therefore, it is difficult to apply in an environment where the radioactive distribution in which fuel debris exists and the geometric conditions are unknown.

However, no consideration is given to reducing the sum peak generated when a plurality of γ rays radiated from a radionuclide (interfering nuclide) different from the measurement target nuclide are incident on one radiation detector almost simultaneously.

Problems, configurations, and effects other than those described above will be clarified by the following description of embodiments.
The present invention exists in large quantities in reactor facilities such as reactor pressure vessels, reactor containment vessels, pressure suppression chambers, torus chambers, etc., and the radioactivity distribution is complicated, and the radioactivity distribution changes with time. Measurement of γ-ray energy distribution, radiation measurement device that reduces the influence of thumb peak due to this interfering nuclide, presence / absence of fuel debris and position measurement device using radiation measurement device, and This is based on new knowledge obtained through various studies on the presence and location of fuel debris and its position.
In this knowledge, by providing a radiation detector, a γ-ray energy analysis unit, and a display device, the γ-ray energy detected by the radiation detector is displayed in the form of a γ-ray energy distribution. Measurement obtained from the gamma ray energy distribution by obtaining the sum peak count value generated by the incidence of two gamma rays emitted from the interfering nuclides from the gamma ray peak count value of the gamma ray energy distribution and the signal processing time for processing the signal. By calculating the γ-ray peak net count value of the target nuclide based on the difference between the γ-ray peak count value and the sum peak count value of the target nuclide, the energy resolution for discriminating the monochromatic γ-ray peak of the target nuclide and the interfering nuclide is improved. While maintaining, it is possible to discriminate the γ-ray peak by the measurement target nuclide and the sum peak formed by the two γ-rays by the interfering nuclide, and calculate the γ-ray peak net count value of the measurement target nuclide. As a result, the presence or absence of fuel debris can be estimated with high accuracy in an environment where there is a large amount in the nuclear reactor facility and the radioactivity distribution is complicated and the radioactivity distribution and geometric conditions may change over time.
Furthermore, in addition to the above-described configuration, the radiation measuring apparatus according to the present invention is disposed on the front surface of the radiation detector, has a radiation path, and restricts the incident direction of the radiation incident on the radiation detector; Collimator driving means for driving the collimator, and by moving the collimator back and forth with respect to the radiation detector by the collimator driving means, the viewing angle of the radiation incident on the radiation incident portion can be changed in a short time. The radiation can be measured accurately and the position of the fuel debris can be estimated.
DESCRIPTION OF EXEMPLARY EMBODIMENTS Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of a radiation measuring apparatus and method according to the invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

The present invention includes a configuration of an apparatus that estimates the presence / absence of fuel debris by discriminating a γ-ray sum peak of interfering nuclides and a γ-ray peak of a measurement target nuclide, and a configuration of an apparatus that estimates the position of fuel debris. The configuration of these two devices will be described in detail below.
(Estimation of fuel debris)
First, the configuration of an apparatus for estimating the presence / absence of fuel debris by discriminating the γ-ray sum peak of interfering nuclides from the γ-ray peak of the target nuclide will be described. The
In this embodiment, a case where Eu-154 is a measurement target nuclide for estimating the presence / absence of the
In these facilities, fission products such as Cs-137 and Cs-134, and Co-60 and Co-58 generated by activation of reactor structures are present in the background. To do. Here, Cs-137 emits 662 keV gamma rays and has a characteristic of decaying with a half-life of about 30 years. Cs-134 emits gamma rays of 602 keV, 796 keV, 802 keV, and 1365 keV, and has a characteristic of decaying with a half-life of about 2 years. In addition, Co-60 emits 1173 keV and 1332 keV γ rays and has a characteristic of decaying with a half-life of about 5 years. Co-58 mainly emits gamma rays of 511 keV and 811 keV and has a characteristic of decaying with a half-life of about 70 days. In order to detect Eu-154 which is a measurement target in these background environments, it is necessary to apply the
FIG. 2 is a block diagram showing an example of a γ-ray energy analyzing unit constituting the radiation measuring apparatus according to the present invention, and FIG. 3 is a γ-ray energy obtained by the γ-ray energy analyzing unit of the radiation measuring apparatus according to the present invention. It is a figure which shows an example of distribution. As shown in FIG. 2, the γ-
The γ-ray
In order to measure Eu-154 as a measurement target nuclide, an algorithm for reducing the influence of Cs-137, Cs-134, Co-60, and Co-58 in the background is required. Here, there are many background nuclide peaks in the region below 1000 keV and the accompanying Compton distribution. Therefore, there is a concern about the degradation of the SN ratio in the γ-ray peak measurement in the region below 1000 keV. The In this embodiment, a case where a 1274 keV γ-ray peak is detected from the energy of γ-ray radiated from Eu-154 will be described as an example. The background when detecting the 1274 keV gamma-ray peak of Eu-154 is that the 1365 keV gamma-ray peak emitted by Cs-134, the 1332 keV gamma-ray peak emitted by Co-60, and the Cs-134 This is a 1264 keV sum peak composed of the sum of the energy of radiated 602 keV γ rays and the energy of 662 keV γ rays emitted by Cs-137. When a 602 keV γ-ray peak emitted by Cs-134, which is an isotope of Cs, and a 662 keV γ-ray peak emitted by Cs-137 are accidentally detected almost simultaneously by the
In order to discriminate between the 1274 keV γ-ray peak of Eu-154, which is the target nuclide, and the 1365 keV γ-ray peak of Cs-134, which is the interfering nuclide, and 1332 keV γ-ray peak, of Co-60, the energy resolution of the
Nsum = N602keV × N662keV × ts ・・・(1)
Nsum = N602 keV × N662 keV × ts (1)
Here, the peak count rate of the 602 keV γ-ray peak obtained by the γ-ray
By using this equation (1), it is possible to calculate the contribution of the thumb peak without considering the geometric condition of the
Based on this calculation result, the γ-ray peak count value of the measurement object (Eu-154) is calculated. When this is the γ-ray peak net count rate Nnet, Nnet is derived by equation (2).
Nnet = Ngross - Nsum ・・・(2)
Nnet = Ngross-Nsum (2)

FIG. 4 shows the relationship between signal processing time, energy resolution, and sum peak count rate. Here, the signal processing time 19 is a waveform shaping time in the
In FIG. 4, the sum peak count rate 21 is the sum peak count value per unit time, and the sum peak is caused by the fact that a plurality of γ-rays are accidentally detected by the
Although the calculation of Nsum by the γ-ray
In FIG. 4, the upper limit value of the energy resolution related to the setting of the signal processing time is 5%. However, the upper limit value is not limited to this, and may be 7% or 8%, for example.

(Estimation of fuel debris position)
Next, the configuration of an apparatus that accurately estimates the position of fuel debris in a short time will be described.
FIG. 9A is a plan view schematically showing the radiation measuring apparatus according to the first embodiment, and FIG. 9B is a plan view showing a state in which the
As the
The
The

FIG. 9C is a plan view schematically illustrating another example of the radiation path of the collimator according to the first embodiment. The path of the radiation is not limited to the hollow cylindrical shape as shown in FIG. 9A. For example, as shown in FIG. 9C, the diameter of the path monotonously decreases along the direction in which the radiation enters the radiation detector. It may have a hollow truncated cone shape. Since the
10A is a plan view schematically showing the radiation measuring apparatus according to the second embodiment, and FIG. 10B is a plan view showing a state in which the collimator is moved to the front in FIG. 10A. The
L1=t1/tanα ・・・(5)
t3=t2−(t2−t1)/2 ・・・(6)
α=atan(t3/L0) ・・・(7)

L1 = t1 / tanα (5)
t3 = t2- (t2-t1) / 2 (6)

Therefore, the effective viewing angle α is naturally determined when the dimensions of t1, t2, and L0 are determined, and the length (L1) of the

FIG. 11C is a plan view schematically illustrating another example of the radiation measuring apparatus according to the third embodiment. As shown in FIG. 11C, it is needless to say that the shape of the collimator and the shape of the shield described above can also be applied when the radiation path has a hollow cylindrical shape.

As shown in FIG. 5, the radiation measuring apparatus further includes a

There is also a method of deriving the γ-ray peak net count rate Ns by taking into account the presence or absence of the shielding effect and calculating the formula (4) by counting the count rates according to shutter on / off.
Ns = (Ngrossoff − Ngrosson)− (N602keVoff × N662keVoff × ts) ・・・(4)

Here, the peak count rate of the 1274 keV γ-ray peak obtained when the shutter is turned off is defined as Ngrossoff. The peak count rate of the 602 keV γ-ray peak is N602 keVoff, and the peak count rate of the 662 keV γ-ray peak is N662 keVoff. Further, the γ-ray

In this embodiment, Ns is calculated by measuring two cycles. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and the measurement time under the shutter-on condition is set to be shorter than the measurement time under the shutter-off condition. May be.

FIG. 8 shows a configuration diagram of a radiation measuring apparatus according to another embodiment of the present invention. The same components as those in the first embodiment are denoted by the same reference numerals. In this embodiment, in addition to the radiation detector shown in the first embodiment, a neutron detector is connected in parallel, and the γ-ray peak measurement of the measurement object and the neutron generated by the spontaneous fission are respectively measured. This improves the accuracy of estimation.

The calculation of the Eu-154 γ-ray peak net count rate Nnet by the γ-ray
According to the present embodiment, by collecting the counting rate of γ-rays and neutrons of the measurement target nuclide, suppose that the γ-rays of the measurement target nuclide are not detected and only the neutrons are detected, or neutrons are detected. Even in the situation where only the γ-ray of the measurement nuclide is detected, the presence or absence of fuel debris can be estimated.
Further, as described above, it is possible to estimate the presence / absence of fuel debris from the count rate by neutrons, and further improve the estimation accuracy of the presence / absence of fuel debris from the count rate by γ-rays of the measured nuclides.

By repeating the above measurement and accumulating data, the position identification accuracy of the fuel debris can be efficiently improved with a smaller number of measurements.
