Description

The present invention relates to an airbag device installed in, for example, an automobile.

For the purpose of ensuring the safety of passengers, some safety devices are installed in automobiles. For example, a side airbag device that deploys an airbag from a side portion on the door side of the seat back toward the front of the vehicle between a seated occupant and a door when the vehicle collides from the side of the vehicle is one of them. .

For example, as shown in FIG. 7A, the airbag 1 includes an outer peripheral edge 2a of the first base cloth 2 located on the inner side of the vehicle and an outer peripheral edge 3a of the second base cloth 3 positioned on the outer side of the car. It is formed in a bag shape by the sewing part 4 that is sewn. And the part which is not sewn is provided in a part of outer peripheral part 2a, 3a, and it is set as the inflator attachment part 5 and the exhaust hole 6 of gas.

By the way, when the airbag 1 is deployed, an impact load acts on the exhaust hole 6. Therefore, for example, as shown in FIG. 7B, the reinforcement cloth 7 is overlapped and sewed inside the exhaust hole portion (for example, refer to Patent Documents 1 and 2).

However, in the case of a structure in which the base fabric and the reinforcing fabric with the end surfaces cut are simply overlapped and sewn, the passenger may be injured when the overlapping cut end surfaces touch the passenger when the airbag is deployed. Further, an end portion of sewing (a portion in FIG. 7A, hereinafter referred to as a sewing end portion) that forms a portion that is not sewn as an exhaust hole may tear along the weave of the base fabric.

In order to prevent the sewing end from tearing along the weave of the base fabric, when the number of the reinforcing fabrics to be overlapped is increased, the flexibility of the portions sewn with the reinforcing fabrics deteriorates and becomes smaller when stored. Can't fold.

The problem to be solved by the present invention is that, in the case of a structure in which the base fabric and the reinforcing fabric with the end surfaces cut are simply overlapped and sewn, the overlapping end surfaces touch the occupant when the airbag is deployed. The passenger may be injured.

The present invention has been made to solve the above problems. That is, in this invention, the said subject is solved by making the outermost peripheral edge of the sewing end part which forms an exhaust hole prevent a cut end surface from being exposed.

That is, the airbag device of the present invention is
Comprising an inflator and an air bag, a Rue airbag apparatus to deploy the air bag toward the door side portion of the seat back in front of the vehicle,
The airbag is
The first base fabric and the second base fabric are formed in a bag shape by a sewing portion that sews the outer peripheral edge portions in a state where the outer peripheral end surfaces are cut,
By positioning and sewing the folded cloth in the gas exhaust hole portion formed by providing a portion that is not sewn at a part of the front end portion in the developing direction of the outer peripheral edge portion, the first and second portions in the exhaust hole portion are sewn. Most preferably, the outer peripheral end surfaces of the second base fabrics are covered, and the one folded fabric covers the front and back surfaces of the one base fabric so that the cut outer peripheral end surfaces are not exposed. Main features.

In the present invention, the folded cloth is positioned in the exhaust hole portion and sewn. Therefore, the cut end face is not exposed at the outermost peripheral edge of the sewing end that forms the exhaust hole.

In the present invention, the folded cloth may be arranged such that one folded cloth covers one base cloth at the outer peripheral edge portions of both base cloths with the end surfaces cut. Moreover, what is arrange | positioned inside the exhaust hole of the outer periphery of each base fabric of the said state may be sufficient.

Further, instead of arranging the folded fabric, the outer peripheral edge portions of both base fabrics may be extended, and the extended base fabric portion may be folded. In this case, the extended base cloth portion may be reinforced with a reinforcing cloth.

In the present invention, the cut end face is not exposed at the outermost peripheral edge of the sewing end that forms the exhaust hole. Therefore, in the present invention, when the airbag is deployed, the occupant is not injured even if the outermost peripheral edge of the sewing end portion touches the occupant.

Moreover, in the present invention, the cut end surface of the folded cloth positioned in the exhaust hole portion is different from the cut end surface of the base fabric and does not face the outer peripheral edge side toward the center side of the airbag. Therefore, in this invention, it can suppress that a sewing edge part tears along the weave of a base fabric at the time of expansion | deployment of an airbag.

Further, in the present invention, a plurality of reinforcing cloths are not overlapped and sewn, but only the cloth folded back at the exhaust hole portion is positioned and sewn. Therefore, according to the present invention, the flexibility of the sewn portion does not deteriorate, and it can be folded small during storage.

(A) is the schematic which showed the expansion | deployment state of the airbag which comprises the conventional airbag apparatus, (b) is AA sectional drawing of (a).

In the present invention, the outermost peripheral edge of the sewing end portion that forms the exhaust hole is folded back to the exhaust hole portion for the purpose of preventing the occupant from being injured when touching the occupant when the airbag is deployed. This was realized by positioning the cloth and sewing.

Hereinafter, various embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS.
FIGS. 1 to 5 show an air bag between a seated occupant and a door from a side portion on the door side toward the front of the vehicle in order to protect the occupant seated at the time of a collision from the side of the vehicle. It is the figure explaining the airbag apparatus of this invention which expand | deploys.

As shown in FIG. 1A, for example, an airbag 1 of the airbag device of the present invention is cut into substantially the same shape, and a first base fabric 2 positioned on the vehicle interior side and a second base fabric 2 positioned on the vehicle exterior side. It is formed in a bag shape by a sewing portion 4 in which the outer peripheral edge portions 2a, 3a of the base fabric 3 are sewn together. At this time, the outer peripheral end surfaces of both base fabrics 2 and 3 remain cut.

At that time, a portion that is not sewn is formed at the front end of the outer peripheral edge 2a, 3a to form the exhaust hole 6, and after the airbag 1 is deployed or the occupant abuts against the airbag 1, The gas in the airbag 1 is exhausted to reduce the impact on the passenger.

The inflator (not shown) is incorporated so as to be wrapped in a non-sewn portion (attachment portion 5) provided at the rear end portion of the airbag 1 facing the exhaust hole 6.

In the present invention, as shown in FIGS. 1 to 5, the folded cloth 8 is positioned at the exhaust hole 6 forming portion and sewn together with the first and second base cloths 2 and 3. It is said.

1 and 2, the folded fabric 8 is arranged so as to cover the front and back surfaces of the outer peripheral edge portions 2a and 3a of the first and second base fabrics 2 and 3 in the portion where the exhaust hole 6 is formed. These are first and second embodiments that are sewn together (see FIGS. 1B and 2B).

Among these, in the first embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the folded cloth 8 covers all the outer peripheral ends 2 a and 3 a of the first and second base cloths 2 and 3 that form the exhaust holes 6. Two sheets are provided, one on each side of the first and second base fabrics 2 and 3. The folded cloth 8 is provided so as to overlap the end of the sewing part 4 forming the exhaust hole 6, that is, the sewing end 4a. Further, the folded cloth 8 may be previously sewn to the base cloths 2 and 3 by the sewing portion 8a before the outer peripheral edge portions 2a and 3a are sewn by the sewing portion 4.

Also in the second embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the folded cloth 8 is provided so as to overlap the end of the sewing part 4 forming the exhaust hole 6, that is, the sewing end 4a. Further, the folded cloth 8 may be previously sewn to the base cloths 2 and 3 by the sewing portion 8a before the outer peripheral edge portions 2a and 3a are sewn by the sewing portion 4. In the case of the second embodiment, there is no folded fabric 8 at the outer peripheral edge portions 2a and 3a in the range shown in FIG. 2A, and the first and second base fabrics 2 and 3 are cut. An opening in which the end face in the state of being exposed is exposed is provided.

In the case of the second embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the folded fabric 8 has first and second base fabrics with openings where the folded fabric 8 does not exist at the outer peripheral edge portions 2a and 3a in the range indicated by B. A total of two are provided, one on each of the two and three sides.

FIG. 3 shows that the folded cloth 8 is provided inside the exhaust hole 6 in the outer peripheral edge portions 2a and 3a of the first and second base cloths 2 and 3 in the portion where the exhaust hole 6 is formed. This is a third embodiment. Also in the case of the third embodiment, the folded cloth 8 may be disposed in the same manner as in the second embodiment.

Further, FIG. 4 shows that the outer peripheral edge portions 2a and 3a of the first and second base fabrics 2 and 3 in the portion where the exhaust hole 6 is formed are extended instead of providing the folded cloth 8, and this extended extension base is provided. This is an embodiment in which the cloth portions 2b and 3b are folded back.

Among these, FIG. 4A shows a fourth embodiment in which the end surfaces 2c and 3c of the extended base fabric portions 2b and 3b are folded toward the inside of the exhaust hole 6 while being cut. FIG. 4B shows a fifth embodiment in which the end surfaces 2c and 3c of the extended base fabric portions 2b and 3b are folded toward the outside of the exhaust hole 6 while being cut. In any case, after the extended base fabric portions 2b and 3b are folded back, the folded portions may be fixed to the base fabrics 2 and 3 by the sewing portions 2d and 3d.

FIG. 5A shows a sixth embodiment in which a reinforcing cloth 9 is provided inside the exhaust hole 6 in order to reinforce the fourth embodiment shown in FIG. 4A. FIG. In order to reinforce the fifth embodiment shown in FIG. 4 (b), this is a seventh embodiment in which a reinforcing cloth 9 is provided inside the exhaust hole 6. The reinforcing cloth 9 in the sixth and seventh embodiments may be provided in the same arrangement as the folded cloth 8 in the second embodiment.

Next, FIG. 6 shows the results of a tensile test using the airbag of the airbag device of the present invention shown in FIG. 1 and the airbag of the conventional airbag device shown in FIG.

In the case of the airbag shown in FIG. 7 in which only one reinforcing cloth is overlapped and sewn on the sewing end portion forming the exhaust hole, as shown in FIG. 6, the base fabric is sewn when a force of about 400 N is applied. A tear occurred in the vicinity of the end portion (a portion in FIG. 7A).

On the other hand, in the case of the airbag shown in FIG. 1 in which a folded cloth is arranged and sewed in the exhaust hole forming portion, as shown in FIG. When a certain amount of force was applied, the sewing part was cut. Further, the displacement generated in the airbag when the same level of force is applied is about ½ of the conventional airbag.

The present invention is not limited to the above examples, and the embodiments may be changed as appropriate as long as they fall within the scope of the technical idea described in each claim.

That is, the airbag apparatus described above is a preferable example of the present invention, and other embodiments can be implemented or performed by various methods. In particular, the present invention is not limited to the detailed shape, size, configuration, and the like of the components shown in the accompanying drawings unless otherwise specified in the present specification. In addition, expressions and terms used in the present specification are for the purpose of explanation, and are not limited thereto unless specifically limited.

For example, in the above example, the bag-like airbag 1 is formed by sewing the outer peripheral edges 2a and 3a of the first and second base fabrics 2 and 3, but the center of one base fabric is formed.
