The present invention particularly relates to a metal fixing material bush having the features of the preamble of claim 1, and more particularly to a method of manufacturing a core material of the metal fixing material bush having the features of the preamble of
Various designs of metal fastener bushings are known in the art. By means of a metal fixing bush, a vacuum hermetic seal made of a fixing material, in particular a glass-to-metal vacuum hermetic seal, is understood. Metal acts as a conductor. See typically US Pat. Such bushings are common in terms of electronic and electrical engineering. The glass used for sealing serves as an insulator. A typical metal fixture bushing is manufactured so that a metallic inner conductor is contained within a pre-formed sintered glass part, so that the sintered glass part or glass tube is within the outer metal part, It is sealed with a so-called core material. For example, an igniter is a suitable application for such a metal fixture bush. This igniter is used, inter alia, for airbags or belt extension pulleys in automobiles and the like. In this case, the metal fixing material bush is a component of the ignition device. In addition to the metal fixture bushing, the entire igniter includes a spark plug and a metal cover that tightly encloses the ignition mechanism. One, two, or more than three metal pins can penetrate the bush. In the preferred embodiment with one metal pin, the casing is grounded, and in the preferred bipolar embodiment, one of the pins is grounded. The ignition device described above is used in particular for airbags or belt extension pulleys in motor vehicles. Known devices of the type mentioned or of similar type are described in US Pat. The ignition unit mentioned earlier has two metal pins. However, the electronic ignition device can comprise only a single pin. The ignition device shown in the prior art comprises a metal core, for example a metal sleeve, which is configured as a swivel. The metal core has at least one through opening through which at least one metal pin can pass. One significant problem with this design lies in the fact that it is material and cost intensive.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to produce a metal anchor bushing of the type described above which can maintain high strength, keep material and labor costs low, and can handle higher pressures, It is to avoid an assembly error due to the inaccuracy of.
The solution of the invention is characterized by the features of claim 1. A technical embodiment for the manufacture of the core is described in claim 34. Preferred embodiments are reproduced in the dependent claims.
The metal fixing member bush includes a metal core, and at least one metal pin passes through the metal core. When two metal pins are provided in the preferred embodiment, one of these two metal pins forms a ground connection with the core material at least directly or indirectly through additional elements. In embodiments comprising two metal pins, these metal pins are preferably arranged parallel to each other. At least one of the metal pins is disposed in the through opening of the core material and is preferably fixed to the core material by a fixing material in the form of a glass plug. The core material according to the present invention is formed by a thin metal plate element, and in the first embodiment, at least the through opening is manufactured by separation processing, particularly punching.
The core material itself is preferably formed by stamping a solid material, and the final shape of the core material is achieved by a molding process such as a deep drawing method. In a preferred embodiment, the final shape defining the outer contour and the basic shape defining the through-opening are manufactured by one separation process, in particular punching / stamping. The final shape is a shape that does not need to be subjected to any further molding process. The basic shape represents the final shape when there are no further changes required, or is the basic shape changed by further manufacturing methods, especially molding methods, and the final shape is achieved after these additional methods , Either. Means are provided between the front portion and the rear portion to prevent the fixing member from moving relative to the inner periphery of the through opening in the direction of the rear portion. This means may be an integral component of the core material or form one component unit with the core material.
The manufacture of the shape by separation means that the final shape on the outer periphery of the core material is manufactured by blanking, and the shape of the through opening is manufactured by punching. The means for avoiding relative movement of the fixing material relative to the inner periphery of the through-opening in order to control problems that occur when sealing the individual metal pins in the through-opening and the fixing material And a unit comprising a metal pin is provided to control the safety against being pulled out. This means acts as a kind of barb and provides a definite connection (shape connection) between the fixing plug, in particular the glass plug and the core, during relative movement in the rear direction. This means includes, for example, at least one local diameter reduction in the through-opening, and can be formed in the entire inner peripheral region other than the front portion of the core material.
In the present invention, raw materials are significantly minimized because more cost effective manufacturing methods and starting materials are used. Further, the entire core material is designed as an integral component, and the metal pin is sealed with a fixing material in the core material. Another significant advantage is that the metal pin is safely prevented from being pushed out of the through-opening with the glass plug, even when the load on the individual metal pin, for example the pressure load, is increased. The overall design is also applicable to smaller sizes with a smaller width and ensuring the fixation of the metal pins within the core material even under larger loads.
What is important is that a local reduction in diameter occurs in the cross section in the rear region or in the region between the rear and front, and the front always has a larger diameter than the rear. .
In a particularly advantageous design, the second metal pin is grounded or fixed on the back of the core as a ground pin. As a result, an additional measure of grounding or electrically coupling the metal pin fixed in the core with the fixing is no longer necessary. Furthermore, the presence of only one pin that should still be fixed in the through-opening offers a more variable possibility of fixing that single pin completely circumferentially and the potential connection to the ground pin The face can be expanded.
As the fixing material, for example, a glass plug, a ceramic plug, a glass ceramic plug, or a high-performance polymer can be used.
There are numerous possibilities for specific examples of means for preventing relative movement between the anchoring material and the through-opening, in particular slipping. These are characterized by means on the heartwood. In the simplest case, the means on the core can be embodied in production, in particular during the punching process. The through opening between the rear part and the front part is characterized by a change in the cross-sectional profile. In the simplest case, at least two regions with different inner dimensions are provided as embodiments of through openings with circular cross-sections with different diameters. The cross-sectional change occurs stepwise or continuously. In the case of a continuous cross-sectional change, the through opening between the front part and the rear part has a conical shape (tapered shape), and the through opening becomes narrower toward the rear part.
Further means on the core are characterized by a plurality of recesses or protrusions (projections). These form at least one undercut disposed between the rear part and the front part on the inner circumference of the through opening in the core material. Such an undercut is not formed in the front part. When the through-opening has a symmetric structure, a first subregion extending from the rear portion toward the front portion, a second subregion connected to the first subregion, and a third subportion extending from the front portion toward the rear portion And the three subregions of the region. The second subregion has a smaller or larger diameter of the through opening than the first subregion and the third subregion. Then, preferably, the first sub-region and the third sub-region have the same cross-sectional dimension.
In embodiments with more than two regions of different dimensions, in particular different diameters, the method resulting from processing both sides of the core is selected. In the embodiments described above, if a symmetrical shape of the through-opening is intended, in embodiments involving more than two regions, preferably a through-opening that can be used in any way with respect to the mounting position is selected. It is designed symmetrically with respect to the theoretical centerline (extending perpendicular to the pin axis of the metal pin in the core and into the central region of the core). In this case, the front part and the rear part are interchangeable with respect to their function. The undercut formed in this way prevents the possibility of the fixing material plug moving in both directions.
In a further design, a number of protrusions can be arranged circumferentially separated from each other on a common circumference between the front part and the rear part. These protrusions are in principle produced in the rear region by stamping, ie local shaping under pressure. Therefore, the manufacturing process is particularly cost effective.
Another option for preventing relative movement between the fixing plug and the through-opening is the formation of a force coupling (frictional coupling, non-deterministic coupling) between them. For example, glass is typically placed in an opening with metal pins, the glass and metal ring are heated, and after cooling, the metal heat shrinks onto the glass plug. In general, the through opening essentially represents the final diameter after punching of the through opening. Of course, the punched through opening itself is machined, for example polished, but the final diameter does not change significantly. The through opening may have a circular cross section. Other possibilities such as oval are also conceivable.
In a preferred embodiment for preventing relative movement between the metal pin and the fixing material under the action of a load, means on the metal pin are provided. This means may be a protrusion or recess extending over the entire outer periphery of the metal pin, or it may be a random or predetermined spacing protrusion disposed adjacent to each other in the circumferential direction.
A method for manufacturing a core material for a metal bush is characterized in that a final contour defining an outer shape is obtained from a sheet metal part having a predetermined thickness by a separation process without using machining. For the formation of a through opening for at least one metal pin, the basic shape defining the form of the through opening is achieved by punching a sheet metal part. Both operations (operation for the outer shape of the core and operation for the through opening) can be one tool and one processing step for cost savings. The undercut in the through opening is formed by deformation of the through opening by stamping, for example. Individual stamping can be performed before and after punching / stamping. Preferably, stamping and punching / stamping are performed on the same face of the core material to avoid unnecessary workpiece position changes. Stamping and punching / stamping are performed immediately after one.
Corresponding to the desired shape to be achieved, stamping is performed on one or both sides, in the latter case it is preferable to set the same stamping parameters so that a symmetrical through-opening is achieved. The solution of the present invention is described in detail below with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1a shows, in axial section, a first embodiment of a metal fixing bush 1 according to the invention, for example for an igniter of an airbag. The metal fixing material bush 1 comprises a
The diameter d 1 is larger than the diameter d 2. The diameter d 2 is a diameter at the

In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1a to 1e, the through
FIG. 2a shows a further embodiment of the core material 3.2 according to an axial cross-section of the metal anchor bushing 1.2. The basic structure of the metal fixing material bush 1.2 corresponds to that described in FIG. 1, and therefore the same reference numerals are used for the same elements. In the embodiment described in FIG. 2a, the through opening 11.2 is conical (tapered). The diameter d gradually decreases from the front 13.2 to the rear 12.2. By reducing the diameter in the form of a cone, a
Figure 2b, after punching the outer side contour, illustrates a core 3.2 'occurring after the path Nchingu work penetrations opening. The through-opening 11.2 'has the same dimensions throughout the front 13.2 to the rear 12.2. The
In all the embodiments shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, the through-opening 11 has an asymmetric shape in the direction from the
FIGS. 4 and 5 show two further embodiments of metal fastener bushes 1.4 and 1.5 according to the present invention with through openings 11.4 and 11.5. In these embodiments, the through
The same applies to the metal anchor bushing 1.5 in FIG. 5, in particular the core material 3.5. The example of FIG. 5 is also divided into at least three subregions, the
All of the solutions described above allow the use of a
In the manufacture of the core material 3.4 in FIG. 4, the through-
If a symmetrical design is desired, the stamping force and stamp depth should be chosen equally for both sides. A similar method is applied to the core material of FIG. In FIG. 5, in the first processing step, the outer shape of the core material 3.5 'is punched / stamped with the through opening 11.5'. The protrusion 27 in the region of the
4 and 5 show the means for preventing the relative movement of the
The embodiment described in FIGS. 6 and 7 can also be combined with the core material described in FIGS.
FIG. 8 shows an embodiment in which the through opening 11.8 has the same diameter over the entire length between the rear 12.8 and the front 13.8, the core material 3.8 is a region of the rear 12.8. It is stamped inside. This is performed by pressurizing the rear portion 12.8, and this pressurization is performed so as to concentrate on a predetermined point in the circumferential region of the through opening 11.8. This pressure action is caused by the pressurization on the rear 12.8. As a result, the projection directed to the metal pin 4.8 is formed over the entire circumferential area of the through opening 11.8 and the pressure of the front 13.8 versus the rear 12.8 in the through opening 11.8. Has a large effect on the ratio. In the case of FIG. 8, projections 37.81 and 37.82 are formed that are arranged at equal intervals in the circumferential direction. The glass plug 6.8 can be a compression piece.
FIG. 9 shows an embodiment in which the inner circumference of the through-opening 11.9 is characterized by a substantially constant average diameter d 1 , which further includes a through-
It is also possible to enclose a glass plug inserted into the core with a socket. It is also possible to roughen both or one of the surface of the through opening and / or the socket and the surface of the metal pin.
FIG. 10 shows a further embodiment. In this embodiment, the through opening 11.10 has a larger diameter d 2 in the region of the rear 12.10 than front 13.10. This embodiment also allows for the design of the through opening 11.10 in the thicker core 3.10. The through-opening 11.10 is, for example, punched or perforated only in the
FIG. 11 shows such a mono pin. The
Preferably, the inner wall panel 101.12 of the socket 101.2 and the free ends of the metal pins 103 are coated. For example, gold is used as the coating material. Preferably, the coating is applied using an electrolytic technique. The coating serves to keep the electrical resistance at the
