Description
本願は、米国特許法第119条(e)に基づき、2011年3月25日に出願された「着用可能な医療装置においてアラームを適合させるためのシステムおよび方法(SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ADAPTING ALARMS IN A WEARABLE MEDICAL DEVICE)」と題される米国仮出願連続番号第61/467,663号に対する優先権を主張し、その全体が引用によりこの明細書中に援用される。本願はまた、米国特許法第119条(e)に基づき、2011年10月3日に出願された「着用可能な医療装置においてアラームを適合させるためのシステムおよび方法(SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ADAPTING ALARMS IN A WEARABLE MEDICAL DEVICE)」と題される米国仮出願連続番号第61/542,749号に対する優先権を主張し、その全体が引用によりこの明細書中に援用される。
技術分野
本発明の局面は、医療装置に関し、より特定的には、医療装置においてアラームを適合させるための装置および方法に関する。
着用可能な医療装置の中には、この医療装置を着用している患者に対して、当該患者にとって関心のある事象を通知するものがある。いくつかの状況においては、着用可能な医療装置は、これらの通知に対する応答を患者から受取る。たとえば、患者の心電図(ECG:electrocardiogram)信号が心臓の異常を示す場合、歩行可能な患者が着用している着用可能な除細動器がアラームを発生させる。心臓の異常がショック療法によって治療可能であることをECG信号が示す場合、患者が不必要なショック療法を受けることを回避したいと希望しているのであれば、着用可能な除細動器がこの通知に対する反応を受取るはずである。
この明細書中に開示される例は、着用可能な医療装置を着用している患者の使用経験を維持または向上させつつ、この着用可能な医療装置の効果を高めるよう、着用可能な医療装置によって発行されたアラームの特徴を適合させるものである。たとえば、この明細書中に提示されるいくつかの適合により、患者が適切な態様でアラームに応答する可能性が高められる。他の適合では、特定の患者の特徴および優先度に合うようアラームが調整される。このように、さまざまな例は、アラームが患者に聞こえていない状況、患者がアラームの重要性を認識していない状況、または、患者が定められたタイムテーブルに従って応答しない状況に対処する。

この明細書中に開示される局面および例は、着用可能な医療装置によって発行されるアラームを適合させるための装置およびプロセスに関する。この明細書中に開示される例は、多種多様な着用可能な医療装置に潜在的に適用可能である。いくつかの例においては、着用可能な医療装置は、2011年5月17日に出願された「複数の検知電極を備えた着用可能な携行型医療装置(WEARABLE AMBULATORY MEDICAL DEVICE WITH MULTIPLE SENSING ELECTRODES)」と題され、引用によりその全体がこの明細書中に援用される同時係属出願連続番号第13/109,382号に記載される着用可能な医療装置に従って構成される。他の例においては、着用可能な医療装置は、治療投与方法を行わないかまたは治療投与装置を含まない監視装置である。これらの例の各々においては、着用可能な医療装置の制御部は、この明細書中に記載される適合プロセスを実行するよう構成された構成要素のセットを含む。この構成要素のセットは、ハードウェア構成要素、またはハードウェア構成要素とソフトウェア構成要素との組合せを含み得る。

さまざまな例によって提供されるプロセスにより、医療装置が1以上の指定受信者にとって関心のある事象を報告するアラームが適合される。これらの例においては、医療装置は、着用可能な医療装置コントローラ100を含むよう配置され、以下のアラーム適合例の段落に記載される動作を含め、この明細書中に開示される動作を実行する。図2は、アラームプロファイルを構成する動作と、事象を監視する動作と、アラームを生成する動作とを含むこのような一プロセス200を示す。プロセス200は202から開始される。

前記アラームの第2のインスタンスは、少なくとも1つの適合された特徴を有する、非一時的なコンピュータ読み取り可能な記録媒体。 - 前記少なくとも1つの事象は、前記医療装置コントローラの環境の特性と、前記医療装置コントローラを着用する患者の特性のうちの少なくとも1つである、請求項1に記載の着用可能な医療装置コントローラ。
