Claims (3)
- 2値情報で構成される非繰り返し信号が記録された第1の記録トラックと上記非繰り返し信号の1単位情報の区間内の読み取り区間を特定する信号が記録された第2の記録トラックとを有する記録媒体と、
上記第1の記録トラックに記録されている信号を検出する第1の検出ヘッドと上記第2の記録トラックに記録されている信号を検出する第2の検出ヘッドを有し、上記第2の検出ヘッドにより検出される上記第2の記録トラックに記録されている信号に基づいて特定される上記非繰り返し信号の1単位情報の区間内の読み取り区間で上記第1の記録トラックから上記非繰り返し信号の各1単位情報を上記第1の検出ヘッドにより読み取る情報読取手段とを備え、
上記第1の記録トラックには、上記非繰り返し信号の1単位情報の区間内の上記読み取り区間よりも長い有効区間に各1単位情報が記録され、
上記第1の記録トラックは、同一の2値情報で構成される非繰り返し信号が連続する区間の境界部分に、上記有効区間に記録されている情報とは異なる情報が記録された無効区間を有していることを特徴とする位置検出装置。 - 上記有効区間の情報と異なる情報が記録された無効区間は、上記有効区間よりも短いことを特徴とする請求項1記載の位置検出装置。
- 上記記録媒体は磁気記録媒体であり、
上記情報読取手段は磁気検出ヘッドにより上記第1の記録トラックに記録されている信号と上記第2の記録トラックに記録されている非繰り返し信号を検出することを特徴とする請求項1又は請求項2の何れか1項に記載の位置検出装置。
