Description
The present invention relates to a positive displacement pump for conveying a liquid such as oil or water, or a gas such as air, such as a vane pump, a scroll pump, or an internal gear pump. In particular, the internal gear pump is used for conveying oil such as automobile engine oil, automatic transmission fluid (ATF), and power steering fluid.
An internal gear type positive displacement pump is a pump in which a rotor is incorporated in a casing and oil is conveyed by pressure generated between an inner rotor and an outer rotor.
If there is a gap (clearance) between the casing and the rotor, oil leakage will occur and a sufficient oil discharge amount cannot be obtained. For this reason, when the clearance between the casing and the rotor is zero, there is no oil leakage and the most efficient.
However, when the clearance between the casing and the rotor approaches zero, seizure may occur between them. For this reason, in an actually produced internal gear pump, a clearance of several μm to several tens of μm is provided between them to prevent the occurrence of seizure.
By the way, in general internal gear type pumps, aluminum or its alloy is often used for the casing, and iron powder sintered body is used for the rotor. In this case, the wire of aluminum or its alloy and iron is often used. Due to the difference in the expansion coefficient, there is a problem that the clearance between the casing and the rotor is greatly increased due to a change in environmental temperature.
That is, for example, in automobile applications, it is necessary to assume use in extremely cold regions, generally −30 ° C., and −50 ° C. under severe conditions. On the other hand, in a high temperature state where an engine such as an engine is in an overheated state, it is necessary to consider a temperature increase up to about 150 ° C.
In this case, the clearance between the casing and the rotor needs to be designed at the minimum operating temperature. That is, in the case of the above-mentioned automobile use, it is necessary to design with a temperature increase of 200 ° C. on the basis of −50 ° C.
In this case, when the casing is made of aluminum and the rotor is made of iron and the thickness thereof is 10 mm, the clearance between the casing and the rotor increases by 8.9 μm with a temperature increase of 200 ° C. Further, in a region where the temperature is high, the viscosity of the oil is accelerated and the performance of the pump is significantly deteriorated.
In order to solve this problem, it is known in
When the same material is used for the casing and the rotor, the linear expansion coefficient between the two becomes the same, so that variation in clearance due to temperature change can be suppressed.
However, when the rotor is manufactured from aluminum or an alloy thereof, the usage application may be limited from the viewpoint of material strength.
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to maintain pump performance even when a clearance due to a change in temperature is increased when materials having different linear expansion coefficients are used for the casing and the rotor.
As a result of intensive studies to solve the above problems, the inventors of the present invention are positive displacement pumps composed of a rotor and a casing, and the linear expansion coefficient of the casing is larger than the linear expansion coefficient of the rotor, The above problem has been solved by using a positive displacement pump in which a clearance adjusting material having a linear expansion coefficient larger than that of the casing is arranged between the casing and the rotor.
According to the present invention, when the linear expansion coefficient of the casing is larger than the linear expansion coefficient of the rotor, the clearance adjustment material having a linear expansion coefficient larger than the linear expansion coefficient of the casing is disposed between the casing and the rotor. The increase in the clearance between the casing and the rotor due to the temperature rise can be offset by the clearance adjustment material that expands more than the casing, and it is possible to prevent an increase in oil leakage and maintain the pump performance. it can.
Next, the form for implementing this invention is demonstrated. In addition, this invention is not limited to this form and an Example, As long as the meaning of this invention is not impaired, it can change into another form.
The present invention relates to a positive displacement pump including a rotor and a casing. This positive displacement pump is a positive displacement pump for pumping engine oil to various places such as the inside of the engine in an internal combustion engine. As an example of the positive displacement pump, there is an internal gear type positive displacement pump in which a rotor including an inner rotor and an outer rotor is incorporated in a casing as shown in FIG. Hereinafter, description will be made using an internal gear type positive displacement pump (hereinafter, simply referred to as “internal gear pump”).
[Configuration of internal gear pump]
As shown in FIG. 1, the

[Clearance adjustment material]
In the side clearance between the
The linear expansion coefficient of the
As described above, since the
Although it is not the pressure applied to the clearance adjustment material in the pump for engine oil transportation of automobiles, it is required to have several MPa for oil transportation pressure and 5 MPa for ATF, and it must be assumed that the rotation speed is also up to 8000 rotations. . Therefore, the specific limit PV value is required to be 10 MPa · m / min or more, preferably 100 MPa · m / min or more, and more preferably 1000 MPa · m / min or more.
Further, the dynamic friction coefficient (μ) is preferably less than 0.2, and preferably 0.1 or less. If it is 0.2 or more, the driving torque of the rotor is undesirably high.
Furthermore, it is preferable that the range of the limit PV value and the range of the dynamic friction coefficient (μ) are simultaneously satisfied.

This perfluoropolymer means a polymer that does not contain hydrogen and is composed of carbon and fluorine, or a polymer that is composed of carbon and fluorine and partially contains oxygen or the like. Specific examples of the perfluoropolymer include polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), tetrafluoroethylene / hexafluoropropylene copolymer (FEP), and tetrafluoroethylene / perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether copolymer (PFA). be able to. These may be used either as a commercially available material alone or blended, and may be used after changing or modifying the copolymerization ratio, but typically a commercially available perfluoropolymer alone or blended. Things are used.
Further, from the viewpoint of improving the wear resistance of the perfluoropolymer, it may be crosslinked or a filler may be mixed therein. In addition, when it bridge | crosslinks, the intermolecular bond of a perfluoropolymer can be strengthened and abrasion resistance can be improved.
Examples of the crosslinking method include a method of irradiating the perfluoropolymer with ionizing radiation in the absence of oxygen under a temperature condition equal to or higher than the crystal melting point of the perfluoropolymer. This irradiation is usually performed at a dose of about 1 kGy to 1500 kGy. When this cross-linking is performed, the wear resistance is improved, and a higher value can be obtained as the above-mentioned limit PV value.
As the filler, PPS, PEEK, PES (polyethersulfone), PAI (polyamideimide) from the viewpoint of preventing adverse effects on the components in the equipment around the internal gear type pump when dropped. Engineering plastics such as are preferred. Since these materials are harder than perfluoropolymers, not only can the wear resistance be improved, but even if they fall off, adverse effects on devices such as valves are minimized. On the other hand, if the filler is extremely hard such as glass powder or alumina, not only the parts in the equipment but also the casing (usually aluminum) is shaved, which is not preferable. Furthermore, fillers such as carbon and graphite swell in oil, increase in volume, and do not function as a clearance adjuster.
The engineering plastic is a resin that is excellent in mechanical strength and heat resistance, and is used mainly for industrial parts that require high performance.
The blending amount of the filler is preferably 20% by weight or more, and preferably 50% by weight or more based on the total amount of the perfluoropolymer and the filler. If the amount is less than 20% by weight, sufficient wear resistance may not be obtained. Further, the upper limit of the amount is preferably 98% by weight or less, and preferably 90% by weight or less. When it is more than 98% by weight, the coefficient of dynamic friction increases and the slidability may decrease.
The
By the way, when a coating film is used as the clearance adjusting material, when the perfluoropolymer is used as the clearance adjusting material and the cross-linking is performed, the above-described cross-linking treatment is performed in at least one of the
[Method of forming coating film as clearance adjusting material]
Next, when a coating film is employed as the clearance adjusting material, the coating method will be specifically described. Hereinafter, at least one of the surface of the
First, the surface of the member is coated with a perfluoropolymer to form a film. Examples of the method for applying this film include a method of covering a film of perfluoropolymer, a method of powder coating, for example, a method of electrostatically coating perfluoropolymer powder, a method of spraying perfluoropolymer powder, Examples include a method of applying John (a liquid in which perfluoropolymer powder is uniformly dispersed in a dispersion medium) and drying and removing the dispersion medium.
Among these, a method of applying a perfluoropolymer dispersion is a preferable method in that a perfluoropolymer film having a uniform thickness can be easily formed. In the case of a perfluoropolymer that is soluble in a solvent, a method in which a perfluoropolymer solution is applied and the solvent is removed by drying can also be employed. However, in the case of a resin that is insoluble in a solvent such as PTFE, it is not applicable.
When the perfluoropolymer dispersion is applied, water and an emulsifier, water and alcohol, water and acetone, or a mixed solvent of water, alcohol, and acetone can be used as the dispersion medium. After applying the perfluoropolymer dispersion, the dispersion medium is dried and removed by air drying or hot air drying. A film made of perfluoropolymer powder is formed by drying and removing the dispersion medium.
After the perfluoropolymer coating film is formed by the above-mentioned coating, etc., baking is performed at a temperature higher than the melting point of the perfluoropolymer, and the perfluoropolymer powder is fused to form a film made of perfluoropolymer. The Firing is preferably performed in a temperature range of 350 to 400 ° C. It is also possible to remove the dispersion medium in the baking step without providing a drying step.
Subsequently, the perfluoropolymer film is crosslinked by irradiating the surface of the thus formed perfluoropolymer film with ionizing radiation. When an appropriate combination of the perfluoropolymer and the material on the member surface is selected, the adhesion between the perfluoropolymer film and the member surface is also improved during this crosslinking.
When crosslinking is performed, it is placed in an oxygen-free atmosphere, specifically in an atmosphere having an oxygen concentration of 1000 ppm or less, preferably 100 ppm, more preferably 10 ppm or less, and a temperature range of the crystal melting point of the perfluoropolymer to about 400 ° C., preferably Irradiates the surface of the perfluoropolymer film with ionizing radiation while maintaining a temperature range of 0 to 30 ° C. higher than the crystal melting point. The range of irradiation dose is generally 1 kGy to 1500 kGy, preferably 100 kGy to 1000 kGy.
At this time, the firing and ionizing radiation irradiation may be performed simultaneously. When the temperature of the atmosphere is too low, the crosslinking reaction of the perfluoropolymer hardly occurs. When the temperature of the atmosphere is too high, particularly when the temperature exceeds 400 ° C., the thermal decomposition of the perfluoropolymer is promoted and the material characteristics are deteriorated, which is not preferable. On the other hand, if the irradiation dose is less than 1 kGy, the crosslinking reaction is insufficient and improvement in characteristics cannot be expected, and if it exceeds 1500 kGy, the perfluoropolymer is easily decomposed, which is not preferable.
Examples of ionizing radiation used for cross-linking perfluoropolymer include electron beam, charged particle beam such as high energy ion beam, high energy electromagnetic wave such as gamma ray and X-ray, neutron beam, etc. An electron beam is preferably used because a relatively inexpensive and high-output electron beam can be obtained and the degree of crosslinking can be easily controlled.
The internal gear pump of the present invention can offset the increased clearance with respect to the increase in side clearance caused by the temperature increase of the internal gear pump, so that the amount of discharge leakage can be suppressed. The discharge amount of the internal gear pump can be made close to the theoretical discharge amount.

[Measurement of wear resistance and dynamic friction coefficient (μ)]
The abrasion resistance of the fluororesin coating was evaluated by a thrust wear test (ring-on-disk wear evaluation, conforming to JIS K-7218). Specifically, as shown in FIG. 4, a test sample is put at a speed at which the rotational speed of the test sample is 1800 rpm in a state where a cylinder (partial material) is placed on the test sample and a predetermined load (surface pressure: P) is applied. Rotate at a rotational speed of V) for 10 minutes and measure the wear state of the test sample. Using an S45C cylinder with outer diameter / inner diameter = 11.6 / 7.4 as the counterpart material, measuring wear under dry (greaseless) lubrication conditions and increasing the load (surface pressure (P)) The limit PV value (P · V value, which is a value immediately before abrupt wear occurs and the sample breaks) was determined. The dynamic friction coefficient was calculated from the reaction torque generated in the counterpart material.

Fluorine dispersion on the side surfaces of the inner rotor and outer rotor made of an iron-based sintered material (2.0% Cu-0.8% C-Fe, linear expansion coefficient: 1.2 × 10 −5 ) having a thickness of 10 mm (Daikin Co., Ltd. product: EK-3700, resin name: PTFE, linear expansion coefficient: 1.2 × 10 −4 ) was applied, dried, and then fired in a nitrogen atmosphere at 380 ° C. × 10 minutes to obtain a thickness. An inner rotor and an outer rotor coated with a 20 μm fluororesin film were obtained. Then, it heated to 330 degreeC in nitrogen atmosphere (oxygen concentration: 5PPM), and 300 kGy irradiation was performed with the Nissin Electric Co., Ltd. irradiation apparatus (Sagatron: acceleration voltage 1.13MeV).
In this way, a crosslinked coating film was formed on the side surfaces of the inner rotor and the outer rotor, and the side clearance effect confirmation evaluation was performed using this. The result is shown in FIG.
In addition, the minimum value of the side clearance when performing the side clearance effect confirmation evaluation is 20 μm in Example 1 and 40 μm in Example 2.

(Comparative Examples 1-2)
An inner rotor and an outer rotor were prepared with no coating and side clearances of 0 μm (Comparative Example 1) and 30 μm (Comparative Example 2).
The result of the side clearance compression effect confirmation evaluation is shown in FIG. In Comparative Example 1, it was impossible to perform the test because the initial rotational torque was too large.
From the test results, it was revealed that Examples 1 and 2 had higher overall efficiency than Comparative Example 2, and the effect of adjusting the clearance by the clearance adjusting material appeared.
(Discussion-Theoretical calculation of clearance)
As described above, the effects of adjusting the clearance with the clearance adjusting material were confirmed from Examples 1-2 and Comparative Examples 1-2.
This is theoretically examined.
In the same internal gear pump as in Example 1 (inner rotor and outer rotor made of iron-based sintered material (2.0% Cu-0.8% C-Fe) having a thickness of 10 mm, aluminum casing), When the minimum operating temperature is −50 ° C. and the maximum operating temperature is 150 ° C. (temperature difference of 200 ° C.), the calculation is performed using the linear expansion coefficient. As shown in Table 1 below, the clearance adjustment material (PTFE) is not disposed. Then, a side clearance of 8.9 μm is generated.
Then, when a clearance adjusting material (PTFE) is coated thereon or a sheet of clearance adjusting material (PTFE) is inserted, the relationship between the thickness and the increase in side clearance due to temperature change is as shown in Table 2 below. .
From the above, when the thickness of the clearance adjusting material (PTFE) is 371 μm, the increase in side clearance due to temperature change can be theoretically zero. It can also be seen that even if the thickness is less than that, the increase in clearance due to temperature rise can be reduced.
Examples 1 and 2 and Comparative Example 2 are examined. The following two points are understood.
Comparing Example 1 (
Next, when Comparative Example 2 (without clearance adjusting material,

[Abrasion resistance test]
(Examples 3-11, Comparative Examples 3-4)
In Examples 1 and 2 and Comparative Example 2, it was confirmed that the overall efficiency of the pump discharge amount was improved by the clearance adjusting material.
In this case, when the clearance adjusting material is worn, the thickness is reduced, so that this effect cannot be sufficiently exhibited. For this reason, it is considered that the wear resistance of the clearance adjusting material is an important factor for determining whether or not this effect is exhibited. In addition, the dynamic friction coefficient of the clearance adjusting material has a great influence on the overall efficiency of the pump discharge amount.
Accordingly, the clearance adjusting material made of various materials was tested for wear resistance and dynamic friction coefficient according to the above-described wear resistance measurement method. The results are shown in Table 3.
First, in Experimental Example 1, PTFE used in Example 1 was applied by the method described in Example 1 to prepare a coated plate (40 mm square, 2 mmt) that was not subjected to crosslinking treatment. Next, Experimental Examples 2 to 5 obtained the following materials (40 mm square, 2 mmt). Further, in Experimental Examples 6 to 10, the PTFE used in Example 1 was mixed with the amount shown in Table 3 in the amount shown in Table 3, and then applied by the method described in Example 1 to perform a crosslinking treatment.
[result]
・ The dynamic friction coefficient of PTFE is extremely low, and when applied to an internal gear type pump, the effect of torque reduction can be expected, but it is clear that the wear resistance (limit PV value) is low and it is difficult to adapt. became.
-It was revealed that the wear resistance of general sliding materials (POM, UHDPE, PPS, PEEK) is better than that of PTFE, but the coefficient of dynamic friction is not sufficient.
・ It has been clarified that the addition of PTFE to engineering plastics (PEEK, PAI, PES) greatly reduces the dynamic friction coefficient, resulting in a significant increase in the critical PV value. This is because the limit PV value becomes harder to scrape and greatly increases when the dynamic friction coefficient decreases.
・ Cross-linked PTFE is a PTFE pure material that has no adverse effects of filler falling off, and has the characteristics that it does not damage the mating material. In addition to this, it has become clear that both the limit PV value and the dynamic friction coefficient are the best. .
