1.約73℃のシース溶融温度を有する、E.I.DuPont Nemours(Wilmington DE)から入手可能な271Pとして知られているポリエステル二成分繊維。271Pの平均繊維径は約13μmであり、長さは6mmである。
2.49.5%のポリエチレンテレフタレート、47%のコ−ポリエステルおよび2.5%のポリエチレンコポリマーからなる、ポリエステル/コ−ポリエステル混合物で作製されるショートカット繊維として知られている二成分繊維(BI−CO)。このような繊維の一例が、約155℃のシース溶融温度を有する、日本の大阪の帝人ファイバー株式会社(Teijin Fibers Limited)から入手可能なTJ04BN SD 2.2X5である。平均繊維径は13μmであり、長さは6mmである。
3.Buckeye Corpが供給元の繊維であるセルロースコットンリンター繊維。
4.ポリエステル繊維(P20FM)またはBarnet USA(Arcadia,South Carolina)から入手可能なInvista 205 WSD。

(態様15)
熱的に結合されたウェブを含む不織ウェブを作製する方法であって:
(a)約0.005〜約5重量%の固体の水溶液濃度を含む完成紙料を形成する工程であって;前記固体が、約20〜約60重量%の二成分繊維;コットンリンター繊維を含む約5〜約25重量%のステープルファイバーを含み;前記綿繊維が、約80μm未満の直径および約4mm未満の繊維長を有する工程と;

水性媒体を含む熱的に結合されたシートを含む不織ウェブを形成するのに好適な水性完成紙料であって:
(a)最大で115℃の融点;および約0.6cmの繊維長で約13μmの直径を有する、コアポリマーおよびシェルポリマーを有する約1〜30重量%の第1の二成分繊維と;
(b)115〜170℃の融点を有し;約13μmの繊維径および約0.6センチメートルの繊維長を有する、コアポリマーおよびシェルポリマーを有する、約20〜50重量%の第2の二成分繊維と;
(c)約250℃より高い融点を有する、約10μmの繊維径および約0.6センチメートルの繊維長を有する、約20〜50重量%のステープル非二成分ポリエステル繊維と;
(d)約29μmの繊維径および約0.3センチメートルの繊維長を有する、約7.5重量%のステープルセルロース系コットンリンター繊維と
を含み;
(e)前記ウェブが、約0.5〜5重量%のC 2〜6 フルオロケミカルの、前記繊維における処理剤を含み;

Claims (10)
- 熱的に結合されたウェブ中の繊維を含む不織ウェブを含むフィルタ媒体を備えるフィルタエレメントであって、前記ウェブは:
(a)前記ウェブの重量を基準にして1〜30重量%の、コアポリマーおよびシェルポリマーを有する二成分繊維であって、前記コアポリマーが、少なくとも240℃の融点を有し、前記シェルポリマーが、最大で115℃の融点を有し;前記二成分繊維が、5〜25μmの直径および2〜15mmの長さを有する二成分繊維と;

(b)240℃〜260℃の融点を有するコアポリマーおよび120℃〜160℃の融点を有するシェルポリマーを有する、5〜50重量%の二成分繊維であって;10〜15μmの直径を有する二成分繊維と
を含み、前記ステープルファイバーは、
コットンリンター繊維と;
ポリエステル繊維と
