Description
The present invention relates to a method for producing a substrate with a transparent electrode comprising a transparent electrode layer patterned on a transparent substrate. Furthermore, this invention relates to the laminated body used for manufacture of the said board | substrate with a transparent electrode.
A substrate with a transparent electrode in which a transparent electrode layer is formed on a transparent substrate such as a film or glass is used as an optical device such as a solar cell, a liquid crystal display element or an organic EL element, or a transparent electrode such as a touch panel. The transparent electrode layer may be patterned for the purpose of reducing the in-plane resistance value. Further, the transparent electrode layer is patterned into a predetermined shape when the transparent electrode is used as an address electrode or when it is used for detecting the position of the touch panel. For example, when a substrate with a transparent electrode is used for position detection of a capacitive touch panel, a transparent electrode layer patterned along the first direction (x direction) is formed on one surface of the transparent substrate, and the transparent substrate is transparent. A transparent electrode layer patterned along a second direction (y direction) orthogonal to the first direction is formed on the other surface of the substrate.
As a method for producing a substrate with a transparent electrode, a method in which a transparent electrode layer is formed on a transparent substrate and then the transparent electrode layer is patterned is used as it is (for example, Patent Document 1). There is a method of transferring a transparent electrode layer onto a transparent substrate (for example, Patent Document 2). In the former method, it is necessary to use a transparent base material having durability against heat, a solvent and the like when forming the transparent electrode layer. On the other hand, the latter transfer method has a high degree of freedom of the substrate used for forming the transparent electrode layer. For example, after forming the transparent electrode layer on a flexible support by a roll-to-roll method. The transparent electrode layer can be transferred onto a transparent substrate such as tempered glass or a thin film. Therefore, the transfer method is excellent in terms of high productivity of the transparent electrode layer and the ability to arbitrarily control the optical characteristics of the substrate with the transparent electrode.
As a material for the transparent electrode layer, a conductive metal oxide such as indium tin oxide (ITO) or zinc oxide, or a metal material such as silver is used. In recent years, the application of metal materials such as silver nanowires has progressed as a material for transparent electrodes. For example, Patent Document 2 discloses a method of forming a silver nanowire transparent electrode layer on a release film support, transferring the transparent electrode layer onto another film, and then patterning by etching. However, since metal materials such as silver have a large light reflection (metallic luster), problems such as screen glare and transparent electrode patterns are visible when used in display materials such as touch panels. And tends to be inferior in visibility.
From the viewpoint of enhancing the visibility of the screen, the material of the transparent electrode layer is preferably a conductive metal oxide. On the other hand, the conductive metal oxide tends to be inferior in flexibility and flexibility of the film as compared with metal nanowires formed by a coating method. For this reason, when a transparent electrode layer made of a conductive metal oxide is transferred to another substrate, there are problems such as cracking in the transparent electrode layer and a part of the film remaining without being peeled off (supported). It is likely to occur. In particular, when the transparent electrode layer is patterned, there is a problem that productivity and yield are lowered because each pattern electrode needs to be peeled off so as not to be cracked or chipped.
In view of the above problems, an object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing a substrate with a transparent electrode comprising a patterned transparent electrode layer made of a metal oxide by a transfer method. Furthermore, an object of this invention is to provide the board | substrate with a transparent electrode in which the pattern of a transparent electrode layer is hard to be visually recognized, when it incorporates in devices, such as a touch panel.
The present invention relates to a method for producing a substrate with a transparent electrode, which is provided with a patterned transparent electrode layer and an optical adjustment layer in this order on a transparent substrate. The manufacturing method of this invention has a laminated body preparation process, a bonding process, an adhesive force fall process, and a peeling process in this order.
The laminate preparation step is a step of preparing a laminate in which an optical adjustment layer made of a dielectric and a transparent electrode layer made of a conductive metal oxide are formed in this order on a support. As the support, a flexible material such as a resin film is preferably used. The transparent electrode layer is preferably patterned. Metal wiring may be formed on the transparent electrode layer.
In one embodiment, the support includes a release layer on the surface of the transparent electrode layer forming surface. The release layer is preferably one that can reduce the adhesion with the optical adjustment layer in a subsequent adhesion reduction process. In one embodiment, the surface of the support (for example, the release layer) on the transparent electrode layer forming surface side is made of a polyolefin-based resin.
A pasting process is a process of pasting together so that a transparent electrode layer of a layered product and a transparent substrate may stick mutually. As the transparent substrate, a substrate having an adhesive layer on the surface to be bonded to the transparent electrode layer is preferably used. In one embodiment, the adhesive layer is an ultraviolet curable adhesive. A metal wiring may be formed on the adhesive layer.
The adhesion reducing step is a step in which the adhesion between the support and the optical adjustment layer is reduced. For example, the adhesion between the support and the optical adjustment layer is reduced by irradiating the laminate with ultraviolet rays or heating. Be made.
The peeling process is a process in which the support and the optical adjustment layer are peeled off. Through these steps, the transparent electrode layer and the optical adjustment layer are transferred from the support onto the transparent substrate to obtain a substrate with a transparent electrode.
Furthermore, this invention relates to the laminated body used for the said manufacturing method. The laminate of the present invention has an optical adjustment layer made of a dielectric and a transparent electrode layer made of a conductive metal oxide in this order on a support. It is preferable that the support is provided with a release layer on the surface on the optical adjustment layer forming surface side, in which the adhesion with the optical adjustment layer is reduced by irradiation with ultraviolet rays or heating.
According to the present invention, a substrate with a transparent electrode can be produced by transferring a transparent electrode layer onto a transparent substrate without causing defects such as cracks and chips. Therefore, a transparent electrode layer made of a conductive metal oxide is patterned on a transparent substrate made of a material having low adhesion to an oxide thin film or a material that is not sufficiently durable against damage during sputtering film formation. A substrate with electrodes can be manufactured with high productivity and yield. Moreover, since it has an optical adjustment layer on the transparent electrode layer which consists of an electroconductive metal oxide, visual recognition of the pattern of a transparent electrode layer is suppressed.
The substrate with a transparent electrode of the present invention includes a patterned transparent electrode layer and an optical adjustment layer in this order on a transparent substrate. In the present invention, a substrate with a transparent electrode is formed by transferring a transparent electrode layer or the like formed on a support onto a transparent substrate.

(Support)
The
As shown in FIG. 1D, the
The

(Optical adjustment layer)
An
The
The
In either case where the
The number of layers of the
The method for forming the
When the
Film formation by sputtering is performed while a carrier gas containing an inert gas such as argon or nitrogen and an oxygen gas is introduced into the film formation chamber. The introduced gas is preferably a mixed gas of argon and oxygen. In either case where the
The substrate temperature at the time of forming the optical adjustment layer may be in the range where the support has heat resistance, and is preferably 60 ° C. or less, for example. When a polyolefin-based resin is used as the material of the

When patterning is performed by etching, only the

(Crystalization of transparent electrode layer)
A transparent electrode layer made of a conductive metal oxide such as ITO is generally amorphous immediately after sputtering film formation. Depending on the use of the substrate with a transparent electrode, the transparent electrode layer may be crystallized for the purpose of improving the transmittance of the transparent electrode layer and reducing the resistance. Crystallization is performed by heating the transparent electrode layer formed on the support. The heat treatment of the transparent electrode layer is performed, for example, in an oven at 120 ° C. to 150 ° C. for 30 to 60 minutes. Alternatively, it may be heated for a long time at a relatively low temperature such as 1 to 3 days at a lower temperature (for example, about 50 ° C. to 120 ° C.). Crystallization of the transparent electrode layer may be performed before or after patterning. Further, after the

In the present invention, the laminate and the transparent substrate are bonded (bonding step, FIG. 1 (B)) from the viewpoint of facilitating electrical connection between the transparent electrode and the controller when creating a device such as a touch panel. When using conductive ink or conductive paste, the heat treatment performed for drying or the like may also serve as crystallization of the transparent electrode layer. When metal wiring is formed by photolithography, the wiring can be thinned.
