Description
The present invention relates to an apparatus for forming a thin film by discharging a liquid material onto an object, and a method for forming the thin film.
A conventional method for forming a solder resist pattern on a printed wiring board will be described. First, a photosensitive solder resist is applied to the entire surface of a printed wiring board having a circuit pattern formed on the surface. A solder resist pattern is formed by exposing the solder resist film using a predetermined mask pattern and then developing the solder resist film.
Usually, identification information for identifying the substrate is printed on the solder resist layer. A method of printing identification information by an ink jet printer before exposing the solder resist layer is known. After printing, the solder resist layer can be exposed and developed to form a print pattern that is strong against washing.
In the conventional method, the substrate on which the identification information is printed is manufactured through the steps of applying the solder resist layer, printing, exposure, and development. Reduction of the number of processes for printing is required.

[Example 1]
In FIG. 1, the schematic side view of the thin film forming apparatus by Example 1 is shown. A

FIG. 2A shows a plan view of the first
FIG. 2B shows a part of the first
In the example shown in FIG. 2B, the second
FIG. 3A shows a perspective view of the
FIG. 3B shows a bottom view of the
The four
The two nozzle heads 42W for the second color are fixed while being shifted by 2P in the vertical direction. Furthermore, one
For this reason, the vertical resolution of the symbol pattern 33 (FIG. 2B) formed by the
In the state where the object 30 (FIG. 1) is opposed to the bottom surface of the
In FIG. 3B, the resolution in the horizontal direction is determined by the moving speed of the stage 25 (FIG. 1) and the discharge period of the liquid material from the nozzle holes 45 (FIG. 3B). Since the number of nozzle heads 42G for the first color is twice the number of nozzle heads 42W for the second color, when the ejection cycle of the
FIG. 4 shows the distribution of the landing points of the liquid material constituting the first
The volume of the droplet can be controlled by an ejection signal given to the
FIG. 5A is a cross-sectional view taken along one-
FIG. 5A shows an example in which the liquid material forming the second
5B to 5C show other examples in which the landing order of the liquid material forming the first
FIG. 6 visually shows image data used in the thin film forming method of the first embodiment. These image data are defined in a raster format, for example. In FIG. 6, a region (thin film formation region) where a landing point on which the liquid material is to be landed is indicated by hatching. In the
Conventionally, characters and the like are printed after the solder resist film is formed. For this reason, the patterning of the solder resist film has been performed based on the
In the first embodiment, characters and symbols are already displayed on the surface of the
In addition, the thickness of the solder resist film formed by the first
In the first embodiment, the first
In the first embodiment, the liquid material of two colors of the first color (for example, green) and the second color (for example, white) is used, but a liquid material of three or more colors may be used.
