Claims (4)
- エンジンから排出された排気ガスを浄化するための浄化触媒が設けられた排気通路における前記浄化触媒の上流でプラズマを生成するプラズマ生成装置であって、
前記排気通路における前記浄化触媒の上流に収容され、排気ガスが通過する内部通路が形成された通路形成部材と、
前記内部通路において前記内部通路に電磁波を放射してプラズマを生成するプラズマ生成部とを備え、
前記内部通路を流れる排気ガスにより前記プラズマ生成部が生成したプラズマが前記内部通路の出口から吹き出して前記浄化触媒に到達するように、前記通路形成部材の前記内部通路の出口部分が前記浄化触媒に近接又は当接させるとともに、前記内部通路には、前記プラズマ生成部が放射する電磁波を、プラズマが生成される領域に閉じ込めるための導電性の網状部材が設けられていることを特徴とするプラズマ生成装置。 - 請求項1に記載のプラズマ生成装置において、
前記プラズマ生成部は、前記内部通路において放電を生じさせる共に、放電に伴って生成された放電プラズマに前記電磁波を供給して前記放電プラズマを拡大させることを特徴とするプラズマ生成装置。 - 請求項1又は2に記載のプラズマ生成装置において、
前記通路形成部材は、前記排気通路における前記浄化触媒の上流に、前記排気通路の通路断面に沿って複数個並設され、
前記プラズマ生成部は、前記各通路形成部材の内部通路においてプラズマを生成することを特徴とするプラズマ生成装置。 - 請求項1乃至3の何れか1項に記載のプラズマ生成装置において、
前記プラズマ生成部は、前記内部通路における前記浄化触媒寄りの位置でプラズマを生成することを特徴とするプラズマ生成装置。
