本願は、2007年12月19日に出願された米国特許出願第11/959,696号(発明の名称:MOMENT FRAME CONNECTOR)の一部継続出願であり、この米国特許出願は、2006年12月22日に出願された米国特許仮出願第60/871,587号(発明の名称:Moment Frame Connector)の優先権主張出願である。両方の出願を参照により引用し、これらの記載の内容全体を本明細書の一部とする。

Claims (7)
- 梁及び柱を含む構造物であって、前記構造物は、
前記梁の一端部に取り付けられている座屈抑制板を有し、前記座屈抑制板は、前記座屈抑制板が前記梁に取り付けられると前記梁の前記一端部の最も近くに位置する第1の端部及び前記第1の端部と反対側の第2の端部を有し、
前記柱に取り付け可能な第1の端部及び前記梁に取り付け可能な第2の端部を備えた降伏部材を有し、前記座屈抑制板は、前記降伏部材を覆い、前記降伏部材は、横荷重が前記構造用フレームに加えられると、前記フレーム内の応力を散逸させるよう引張状態及び圧縮状態で降伏することができ、前記降伏部材は、この降伏部材に第1の切欠き及び第2の切欠きを形成する前記第1の端部及び前記第2の端部よりも小さい半径又は幅を備えた中間区分を有し、
前記降伏部材の前記第1の切欠き及び前記第2の切欠きに設けられた一対の第1のスペーサ及び第2のスペーサを有し、これらの第1のスペーサ及び第2のスペーサは、前記降伏部材と同一平面上にあり、
一対のねじを有し、これらのねじは、前記座屈抑制板の一対の穴から第1のスペーサ及び前記第2のスペーサを介して、前記梁の頂部フランジ及び底部フランジのうちの一方のフランジに取り付けられて前記座屈抑制板を前記梁のフランジに取り付け可能とする、構造物。 - 前記降伏部材は、前記第1の端部及び前記第2の端部よりも強度の低い中間区分を有し、前記降伏部材は、所与の引張力を受けると、前記中間区分が降伏する、請求項1記載の構造物。
- 前記中間区分は、前記第1の端部及び前記第2の端部よりも小さい直径を有する、請求項2記載の構造物。
- 前記梁と前記座屈抑制板との間に設けられた1つ又は2つ以上のスペーサを更に有し、前記1つ又は2つ以上のスペーサは、前記降伏部材と同一平面内に位置する、請求項1記載の構造物。

梁と、
前記柱と前記梁との間に取り付けられたせん断タブと、
前記柱と前記梁との間に取り付けられた横方向筋違いシステムとを有し、前記横方向筋違いシステムは、
前記梁の頂部フランジ及び底部フランジにそれぞれ取り付けられた一対の座屈抑制板を有し、各座屈抑制板は、前記梁の一端部に取り付けられた第1の端部及び前記第1の端部と反対側の第2の端部を有し、
各々が前記柱に取り付けられた第1の端部及び前記梁に取り付けられた第2の端部を備えた一対の降伏部材を有し、前記一対の降伏部材のうちの一方の降伏部材は、横荷重が前記構造用フレームに加えられると、前記フレーム内の応力を散逸させるよう引張状態及び圧縮状態で降伏することができ、
前記せん断タブは、中央の円形穴と、この中央の円形穴よりも前記頂部フランジ及び前記底部フランジに近接してそれぞれ設けられた第1の長穴及び第2の長穴と、を有し、これらの円形穴、第1の長穴及び第2の長穴は、前記梁の重量を支持するものであり、前記せん断タブ、前記柱、又は前記梁を損傷させることなく、前記降伏部材の第1の端部及び第2の端部の少なくとも一方の降伏時に前記梁の回転を可能にするものである、構造物。 - 前記降伏部材の前記第1の端部は、前記柱にボルト止めされ、前記降伏部材の前記第2の端部は、前記梁にボルト止めされている、請求項5記載の構造物。
- 前記梁と前記座屈抑制板との間に設けられた1つ又は2つ以上のスペーサを更に有し、前記1つ又は2つ以上のスペーサは、前記降伏部材と同一平面内に位置する、請求項5記載の構造物。
