対角32”(81.3cm)、16:9のバックライトが作られた。バックライトは以下の寸法を備えて、図1と同様に設計された。長さLは398.5mmであり、高さHは15.0mmであり、略放物線状の反射体(図1における素子165)は、深さ21mm及び幅14mmと計測され(深さは左への距離であり、幅は端部132に沿った開口部である)、光源160は2.6mmと測定された。側面反射体(図1における素子134)は、垂直(素子110に最も近い末端部は、光源により近い)から約3.8°傾けた。ビーズ状の利得拡散体(同時係属の米国特許出願第60/939,085号、「RECYCLING BACKLIGHTS WITH SEMI−SPECULAR COMPONENTS」の実施例1に記載されている手順に従って調製された)は、半鏡面素子として使用された(図1における素子150)。光エンジン及びキャビティの全ての他の内面は、他に指定がない限り、3M companyから入手可能なESRを用いて裏打ちされた。2つの異なる部分的透過性の前面反射体(図1における素子110)を使用して、光抽出素子のないシミュレーションが実施された。第1の部分的透過性の前面反射体(ARFとして設計された)は、通過方向において、32%の透過率及び83%の半球反射率を有する非対象反射性フィルム(ARF)だった。第2の部分的透過性の前面反射体(APFとして設計された)は、51%の半球反射率を有するAdvanced Polarizing Film(高度偏光フィルム)だった。
Claims (3)
- 出力面(135;235;335)を含む中空の光リサイクリングキャビティ(130;230;330)を形成する、部分的透過性の前面反射体(110;210;310)及び背面反射体(120;220;320)と、
前記中空の光リサイクリングキャビティ(130;230;330)内に配置された半鏡面素子(150;250)と、
前記中空の光リサイクリングキャビティ(130;230;330)内に配置された光抽出素子(140;242,244,246;340)であって、勾配鏡面性を有する光抽出素子(140;242,244,246;340)と、
光を前記中空の光リサイクリングキャビティ(130;230;330)内に注入するように配置された少なくとも1つの光源(160;260,270;360,370)であって、前記出力面(135;235;335)が、前記出力面(135;235;335)に平行な平面として横断面を画定し、前記光源(160;260,270;360,370)が、前記横断面に対して0〜40度の範囲の平均光束偏差角で、前記中空のリサイクリングキャビティ(130;230;330)内に光ビームを注入する、少なくとも1つの光源(160;260,270;360,370)と、
を含む、バックライト(100;200;300)。 - 前記光抽出素子が勾配拡散体を含む、請求項1に記載のバックライト。
- 前記部分的透過性の前面反射体が、可視光線に対して半球反射率 Rf hemiを含み、前記背面反射体が、可視光線に対して半球反射率 Rb hemiを含み、Rf hemi*Rb hemiは、少なくとも0.45である、請求項1に記載のバックライト。
