サンプル1〜3は、本願明細書に開示されているPECVDコーティングを有するシリコーンチューブと、市販のシリコンコーティングを有するシリコーンチューブおよびコーティングされていないシリコーンチューブと比較したものである。これらのサンプルを、滅菌および温度サイクルプロセスの前後で比較して、該コーティングに対する熱の影響を測定した。

Claims (14)
- 患者への挿入または植え込みのための医療装置を形成する方法であって、
チャンバ内で、シリコーン基板をプラズマに曝すことと、
前記シリコーン基板をプラズマに曝した後に、200ミリトール(mtorr)(約26.66Pa)以下のチャンバ圧力で、環状シリコン含有化合物のプラズマ化学気相成長法(PECVD)によって、前記シリコーン基板上にコーティングを形成することであって、前記コーティングが、少なくとも20原子パーセントのシリコンを含み、その少なくとも30原子パーセントはシリカ酸化状態にあることと、
を具備する方法。 - 前記シリコン含有化合物は、オクタメチルテトラシクロシロキサン(OMCTS)を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記PECVDは、20ミリトール(mtorr)(約2.666Pa)以下のチャンバ圧力で行われる、請求項1に記載の方法。
