本願は、米国仮特許出願番号第61/247831号(2009年10月1日出願)である題名「Multi−Fuel System」、および米国非仮特許出願番号第12/702252号(2010年2月8日出願)である題名「Homogenizing Fuel Enhancement System」の優先権を主張し、その出願日の権利が与えられるものである。前述の出願の主題はその全体が参照により本明細書に組み込まれる。

Claims (8)
- あるエンジン排気量を有する内燃エンジンと共に用いられる燃料均質化向上システムであって、前記内燃エンジンは、噴射ポンプおよび少なくとも1つのインジェクタを備えた噴射システムを有し、前記噴射システムは、搭載状態で生成された均質な液体ガス多種燃料混合物により作動するように構成された、燃料均質化向上システムにおいて、
前記燃料均質化向上システムは、前記噴射システムの外側に存在し且つ前記噴射システムと流体連通している少なくとも1つの循環経路を有し、前記循環経路は、前記液体ガス多種燃料混合物を継続的に循環させ且つその均質性を維持し、
前記循環経路は、注入容積を形成し、少なくとも1つの注入管を有し、
この少なくとも1つの注入管は、入口から前記液体ガス多種燃料混合物を受け入れ、循環している前記液体ガス多種燃料混合物を混合し且つ減速させ、それにより、ガス燃料成分によって前記液体ガス多種燃料混合物内に形成された複数の気泡を、更に小さい複数の気泡に分裂させ、その更に小さい複数の気泡は分散して液体燃料成分内に注入されて、比較的に更に均質な液体ガス多種燃料混合物を、少なくとも前記エンジン排気量に等しい注入容積で形成し、その比較的に更に均質な液体ガス多種燃料混合物が出口を通過するように構成されている、燃料均質化向上システム。 - 前記注入管は、各端部が第1の端壁および第2の端壁により覆われた管壁を備えており、前記第1の端壁は、少なくとも第1の通路を形成し、注入管容積は、前記管壁の少なくとも一部により横方向に境界付けられ、かつ前記第1の端壁により軸線方向に境界付けられた空間によって画定された前記注入容積の部分を含み、前記注入管容積の全長と直径との比率は、2対1(2:1)乃至30対1(30:1)の範囲である、請求項1に記載の燃料均質化向上システム。
- 前記注入管は、更に、
前記第1の端壁に形成された、前記第1の通路に隣接する第2の通路と、
前記第1の端壁の前記第1または第2の通路のいずれかに取り付けられており、対向する前記第2の端壁にほぼ向かって延びるのに十分な長さを有する下向き管とを備え、
前記注入管内の前記下向き管の構成は、前記注入管容積内において動的流れ効果を引き起こす前記第1及び第2の通路の空間位置を規定し、前記液体ガス多種燃料混合物を、前記注入管容積の中において注入管容積の長さの大部分を移動するように強制的に注入管に流し、前記注入管を通る液体ガス多種燃料混合物の前記移動により、前記液体ガス多種燃料混合物内の前記複数の気泡の注入、攪拌および混合を促進する、請求項2に記載の燃料均質化向上システム。 - 前記注入管は、前記第2の端壁に隣接するアキュムレータ機構を更に備えており、それにより、前記注入管容積は、前記アキュムレータ機構のアキュムレータピストンにより、前記第1の端壁に対向して軸線方向に境界付けられた空間をなし、前記アキュムレータ機構は、前記注入管容積と協働して、前記燃料均質化向上システム内の圧力サージを吸収する、請求項2に記載の燃料均質化向上システム。
- 直列する少なくとも2つの注入管を備えており、それにより、1つの注入管から次の注入管に流れる前記液体ガス多種燃料混合物の連続的膨張および収縮が、前記液体ガス多種燃料混合物内の前記複数の気泡の注入、攪拌および混合を更に促進する、請求項2に記載の燃料均質化向上システム。
- 更に、前記循環経路は熱交換器を備えている、請求項1に記載の燃料均質化向上システム。
- 前記循環経路は、
前記注入管を含み、流体連通している少なくとも2つのタンクから前記液体ガス多種燃料混合物の供給を受ける第1の循環ループと、
前記第1の循環ループおよび前記内燃エンジンの噴射ポンプと流体連通している第2の循環ループと、
前記第1の循環ループと第2の循環ループとをつなぎ、それらの間の圧力差を吸収するアキュムレータ機構とを備えている、請求項1に記載の燃料均質化向上システム。 - 更に、液体燃料の流れを制御可能に提供するための液体燃料システムと、ガス燃料の流れを制御可能に提供するためのガス燃料システムと、を有する請求項1に記載の燃料均質化向上システム。
