Description
・第1触媒15aにおいて排気の有害三成分であるCO、HC、NOxの浄化率と空燃比との関係、
・触媒下流側における上記三成分のガス濃度及び酸素濃度と空燃比との関係、
・O2センサ17の排気側電極33の表面付近における上記三成分のガス濃度及び酸素濃度と空燃比との関係、
・O2センサ17の起電力出力と空燃比との関係、
をそれぞれ示している。
CO+0.5O2→CO2 …(1)
CH4+2O2→CO2+2H2O …(2)
CO+NO→CO2+0.5N2 …(3)
また、上記(1)〜(3)の化学反応の平衡定数をそれぞれk1,k2,k3とすると、k1,k2>>k3の関係となっている。
上記実施形態を例えば次のように変更してもよい。
Claims (8)
- 固体電解質体(32)と該固体電解質体を挟む位置に設けられる一対の電極(33,34)とを用いてなる起電力セル(31)を有し、内燃機関(10)の排気を検出対象として該排気の空燃比に応じた起電力信号を出力するガスセンサ(17)に適用されるガスセンサ制御装置であって、
前記起電力セルにおける前記一対の電極の一方は起電力出力時に正側となる基準側電極(34)、他方は起電力出力時に負側となる排気側電極(33)であり、
前記起電力セルに接続される電気経路に設けられ、前記起電力セルにおいて前記固体電解質体を通じて前記一対の電極間に所定の定電流を流す通電実施手段(43)を備え、
前記通電実施手段は、前記起電力セルにて起電力が生じる場合にその起電力を電源として電流を流すものであって、さらに少なくとも理論空燃比である場合の起電力を含みかつそれよりも大きい起電力範囲で一定電流の流通を可能とするものであり、前記起電力セルに接続される電気経路に設けられた抵抗(54)と、その抵抗の両端のうち前記基準側電極の側の端部の電圧を所定の基準電圧で保持するよう動作する動作素子(52,53)とを有しており、
前記基準電圧を、理論空燃比である場合の起電力よりも小さい電圧としていることを特徴とするガスセンサ制御装置。 - 前記抵抗の抵抗値は、50〜500Ωである請求項1に記載のガスセンサ制御装置。
- 前記基準電圧を可変とする電圧変更手段(41)を備える請求項1又は2に記載のガスセンサ制御装置。
- 固体電解質体(32)と該固体電解質体を挟む位置に設けられる一対の電極(33,34)とを用いてなる起電力セル(31)を有し、内燃機関(10)の排気を検出対象として該排気の空燃比に応じた起電力信号を出力するガスセンサ(17)に適用されるガスセンサ制御装置であって、
さらに前記内燃機関の排気部(14)に設けられ、排気中のリーン成分であるNOxとリッチ成分とを浄化する触媒(15a)を備え、前記ガスセンサが、前記触媒の中間部分又は該触媒の下流側に設けられ、該触媒による浄化後の排気を検出対象として空燃比を検出する内燃機関の排気浄化装置に適用されるものであり、
前記触媒は、空燃比と浄化率との関係を示す浄化特性として、前記リッチ成分及び酸素の平衡点となる第1空燃比点(A1)よりもリッチ側に、前記NOxが流出し始める第2空燃比点(A2)を有しており、
前記起電力セルにおける前記一対の電極の一方は起電力出力時に正側となる基準側電極(34)、他方は起電力出力時に負側となる排気側電極(33)であり、
前記起電力セルに接続される電気経路に設けられ、前記起電力セルにおいて前記固体電解質体を通じて前記一対の電極間に所定の定電流を流す通電実施手段(43)を備え、
前記通電実施手段は、前記起電力セルにて起電力が生じる場合にその起電力を電源として電流を流すものであって、さらに少なくとも理論空燃比である場合の起電力を含みかつそれよりも大きい起電力範囲で一定電流の流通を可能とし、前記触媒における前記第1空燃比点と前記第2空燃比点とのずれに対応する電流量を前記定電流として流すものであることを特徴とするガスセンサ制御装置。 - 前記通電実施手段は、前記起電力セルの排気側電極付近におけるガス反応の平衡点を前記第2空燃比点又はその付近にシフトさせるのに要する電流量を前記定電流として流すものである請求項4に記載のガスセンサ制御装置。
- 前記通電実施手段は、前記起電力セルの排気側電極付近におけるガス反応の平衡点を前記第2空燃比点よりもリッチ側にシフトさせるのに要する電流量を前記定電流として流すものである請求項5に記載のガスセンサ制御装置。
- 固体電解質体(32)と該固体電解質体を挟む位置に設けられる一対の電極(33,34)とを用いてなる起電力セル(31)を有し、内燃機関(10)の排気を検出対象として該排気の空燃比に応じた起電力信号を出力するガスセンサ(17)に適用されるガスセンサ制御装置であって、
前記起電力セルにおける前記一対の電極の一方は起電力出力時に正側となる基準側電極(34)、他方は起電力出力時に負側となる排気側電極(33)であり、
前記起電力セルに接続される電気経路に設けられ、前記起電力セルにおいて前記固体電解質体を通じて前記一対の電極間に所定の定電流を流す通電実施手段(43)を備え、
前記通電実施手段は、前記起電力セルにて起電力が生じる場合にその起電力を電源として電流を流すものであって、さらに少なくとも理論空燃比である場合の起電力を含みかつそれよりも大きい起電力範囲で一定電流の流通を可能とするものであり、
前記起電力セルに流れる実電流の電流量を検出する電流検出手段(57,58)と、
前記通電実施手段により前記定電流を流している場合に、前記電流検出手段により検出される電流量に基づいて前記通電実施手段の異常の有無を判定する異常判定手段(41)と、
前記起電力セルの起電力があらかじめ定めた所定の電圧値以下であることを判定する起電力判定手段(41)と、
前記起電力判定手段により前記起電力が所定の電圧値以下であると判定された場合に、前記異常判定手段の異常判定を無効化する無効化手段(41)と、
を備えることを特徴とするガスセンサ制御装置。 - 前記起電力セルの温度に基づいて、前記所定の電圧値を設定する請求項7に記載のガスセンサ制御装置。
