Description
PETを使用して、厚さが0.4mmであり、図4に示すように、横6mm、縦2.5mmの四角形状の開口が一側に穿孔されており、直径が約60μmである多数の微細気孔が約100μmの間隔で全面に穿孔されている絶縁部材を製造した。その後、センターピンによって正極/分離膜/負極が巻き取られている構造のゼリーロールの上端に前記絶縁部材を搭載し、電池の組立過程で一般的に発生する微細金属粉末を前記絶縁部材上に位置させた状態で、18650規格(直径18mm、長さ65mm)の円筒形二次電池を作製した。
直径が約100μmである多数の微細気孔が約120μmの間隔で全面に穿孔されている絶縁部材を準備したこと以外は、前記実施例1と同様の方法で絶縁部材及び二次電池をそれぞれ作製した。
図2に示すように、多数の微細気孔を含んでいないこと以外は、前記実施例1と同様の方法で絶縁部材及び二次電池を作製した。
図3に示すように、多数の微細気孔の代わりに、直径が2.5mmである3個の貫通口が形成されたこと以外は、前記実施例1と同様の方法で絶縁部材及び二次電池をそれぞれ作製した。
直径が150μmである多数の微細気孔が約120μmの間隔で全面に穿孔されている絶縁部材を準備したこと以外は、前記実施例1と同様の方法で絶縁部材及び二次電池をそれぞれ作製した。
前記実施例1及び2と比較例1乃至3でそれぞれ作製された二次電池に対する電解液含浸実験を実施し、その結果を下記の表1に示した。電解液含浸実験は、1M LiPF6のカーボネート系電解液を、上記で作製された円筒形の電池ケースに注入した後、ゼリーロールの含浸率が100%になるのにかかる時間を測定し、このような過程を4回繰り返して平均値を得た。

Claims (8)
- 正極/分離膜/負極構造のゼリーロールが円筒形の電池ケースに装着されている構造の二次電池であって、
前記ゼリーロールの上端に搭載される板状構造の絶縁部材は、高分子樹脂または高分子複合体の成形体からなっており、前記成形体を貫通して微細気孔が穿孔されており、かつ 前記微細気孔は、電解液は通過するが、100μm以上の大きさの異物は通過できず、かつ前記微細気孔の直径は、1μm〜100μmの範囲にあり、かつ
前記微細気孔は、上下方向に不均一な直径を有する連通口形状からなることを特徴とする、二次電池。 - 前記成形体は電気絶縁性を有していることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- 前記高分子樹脂は、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリブチレン、ポリスチレン、ポリエチレンテレフタレート、天然ゴム及び合成ゴムからなる群から選択される一つ以上であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- 前記絶縁部材の厚さは、0.1mm〜0.5mmの大きさであることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- 前記二次電池はリチウム二次電池であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- 前記二次電池は、ガス排出及び電極端子の貫通のために絶縁部材上に穿孔されている開口を含んでいることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- 請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載の二次電池を電源として含むことを特徴とする、デバイス。
- 前記デバイスは、携帯電話、携帯用コンピュータ、LEV(Light Electronic Vehicle
)、電気自動車、ハイブリッド電気自動車、プラグインハイブリッド電気自動車、及び電力貯蔵装置から選択されることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載のデバイス。
