Claims (12)
- 電気脱イオン化装置であって、該電気脱イオン化装置を通る並列の第1および第2の流体流路が提供され、前記電気脱イオン化装置が、陽極アセンブリと陰極アセンブリとの間に介在する複数のイオン減少区画室と複数のイオン濃縮区画室とを備え、
前記第1の流体流路が、実質的に同時に、各前記イオン減少区画室に流体を導入し、かつ各前記イオン減少区画室から流体を放出するように構成され、
前記第2の流体流路が、実質的に同時に、各前記イオン濃縮区画室に流体を導入し、かつ各前記イオン濃縮区画室から流体を放出するように構成され、
各イオン減少区画室が、複数のイオン減少チャネルを有し、該複数のイオン減少チャネルは、電流が前記陽極アセンブリと前記陰極アセンブリとの間で発生されたときに、イオン減少チャネルを通過する流体からイオン放出を可能にすることができ、各イオン減少区画室は、イオン減少区画室に導かれた流体が、前記イオン減少チャネルの各々を通って順次に流れるように構成され、
各イオン濃縮区画室が、複数のイオン濃縮チャネルを有し、該複数のイオン濃縮チャネルは、電流が前記陽極アセンブリと前記陰極アセンブリとの間で発生されたときに、イオン濃縮チャネルを通過する流体へのイオンの移動を可能にすることができ、各イオン濃縮区画室は、イオン濃縮区画室に導かれた流体が、各イオン濃縮チャネルを通って順次に流れるように構成されており、
前記陽極アセンブリおよび前記陰極アセンブリがそれぞれ、単一の複数出力電源に分離して接続された複数のそれぞれの電極プレートを備えており、
イオン減少および濃縮区画室は、交互の順番でスタックして配置されており、スタックを横断して重なり合うイオン減少および濃縮チャネルが、チャネルグルーピングを形成し、各チャネルグルーピングが、それ自体の、対をなす陽極および陰極電極プレートを備えるようになっており、
各イオン減少および濃縮区画室が、実質的モノリシックな熱可塑性枠組みを備えており、前記熱可塑性枠組みが、
(a)前記それぞれの区画室の前記チャネルと、
(b)流体入口および流体出口と、
(c)前記それぞれの区画室の前記チャネルを通過することなく、前記それぞれの区画室を流体が通り抜けることをできるようにする第1および第2の流体バイパスと、
(d)(i)前記流体入口を前記それぞれの区画室の最前部のチャネルに接続し、かつ(ii)前記それぞれの区画室の最後部のチャネルを前記流体出口に接続する一連の接続流体経路と、を画定するように形成されており、
各前記イオン濃縮区画室および各前記イオン減少区画室の熱可塑性枠組みは、基本的に同じものである、前記電気脱イオン化装置。 - 各イオン減少区画室および各イオン濃縮区画室が、イオン交換樹脂ビーズを含み、前記イオン濃縮区画室の前記樹脂ビーズの平均サイズが、前記イオン減少区画室の樹脂ビーズの平均サイズよりも小さい、請求項1に記載の電気脱イオン化装置。
- 陽極電極プレートの数、陰極電極プレートの数、各イオン減少区画室のイオン減少チャネルの数、および各イオン濃縮区画室のイオン濃縮チャネルの数が、同一である、請求項1または2に記載の電気脱イオン化装置。
- 前記数が3である、請求項3に記載の電気脱イオン化装置。
- 熱可塑性枠組みがさらに、前記イオン減少および濃縮チャネルの各々の入口および出口に設けられた一体の液体分配装置を備えている、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の電気脱イオン化装置。
- 一体の液体分配装置が、複数のフィンと、自由端およびヒンジ端を有するフラップと、フラップ固定手段とを備えており、ヒンジ端は、複数のヒンジストリップによって熱可塑性枠組みに接続されている、請求項5に記載の電気脱イオン化装置。
- フラップ固定手段が、複数のぺグと、これらに対応するフラップの複数の孔とからなる、請求項6に記載の電気脱イオン化装置。
- チャネルは、熱可塑性枠組みに設けられた一連のクロスチャネルリブによってサブチャネルに分割されている、請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載の電気脱イオン化装置。
- 各イオン濃縮および減少チャネルがイオン透過膜を備えており、熱可塑性枠組みがさらに、膜の側方位置を画定すべく熱可塑性枠組みに設けられた複数の取付けガイドを備えている、請求項1から8のいずれか一項に記載の電気脱イオン化装置。
- 熱可塑性枠組みがさらに、膜のための画定された取付け領域を提供すべく熱可塑性枠組みに設けられた複数の取付けガイドを備えている、請求項9に記載の電気脱イオン化装置。
- 流体が、イオン濃縮チャネルを蛇行して流れる、請求項1から10のいずれか一項に記載の電気脱イオン化装置。
- 流体が、イオン減少チャネルを蛇行して流れる、請求項1から11のいずれか一項に記載の電気脱イオン化装置。
