近年、安全性の向上のため助手席用のエアバッグや、いわゆるサイドエアバッグを設けることが行われつつあり、この場合、エアバッグはインパネやドアトリム等の合成樹脂製内装部材の内側に設置されて、この内装部材に設けられたエアバッグ膨出口より車室内へ膨出するようになっている。そして、通常、エアバッグ膨出口は、エアバッグの膨張時に容易に破断する薄肉部を有する蓋体(エアバッグカバー)で閉鎖されている。このエアバッグカバーはエアバッグの膨張時に所定の扉を形成するように開口可能にするため、要求される可撓性や引っ張り強度といった物理的特性がインパネ等とは異なっている。このため従来は硬質合成樹脂材等よりなるインパネ等とは別体でエアバッグカバーを製造して、エアバッグ膨出口の開口部にビス止め等により覆着している。
従来技術としては、本体部と同一の硬質樹脂材料で射出成形により一体成形もしくは別体成形されたエアバッグドア部を有する車両用内装部材において、前記エアバッグドア部に一般厚よりも薄いティア部を形成すると共に、該ティア部の両側もしくは片側に一般厚よりも厚い厚肉部をティアラインの少なくとも一部に沿って形成したエアバッグドア部を有する車両用内装部材(例えば、特許文献1参照)が存在している。

本発明は、上記の問題を解決した助手席用エアバッグ装置を提供することを目的としている。

アウター2には、エアバッグ展開時にリッド1が円滑に開裂するために局部的に肉厚を薄くしたテアライン9が形成されている。なお、本実施例では、このテアライン9は外観を良くするために、成型を行った後に加工したが、外観に影響を及ぼさなければ、成形時にこのテアライン9が形成されるようにしても良い。
インナー3には、エアバッグ展開時にアウター2に設けられた扉予定部13をリフトアップ状態にならずに円滑に開くようにするため、扉予定部13が回転した時に必要な長さを持ったヒンジ5が、またアウター2には溶着するための溶着リブ6が設けられている。
前記ヒンジ5は等間隔に複数個に分断されており、ヒンジ5とヒンジ5の間にはインナー3の一般肉厚部から肉を除いた少なくとも2本以上の溝状の除肉部4が車両前後方向に沿うように設定してある。
また、扉予定部13略中央で、且つ除肉部4の間に凸形状8を設定している。この凸形状8は成形性を良くし、かつ膨張するエアバッグとの接触時にエアバッグの押圧力を受けて変形し易くするために中空形状にし、リッド1と完全に固定するために溶着用のリブ6を格子状に設けている。
なお、凸形状8の内部に設けられるリブ6は格子状ではなく、車両前後方向に沿ってのみ設けられるようになっている。また、インナー3とアウター2との溶着強度が保たれるならば、必ずしも凸形状8の中空形状内にリブ6を設けずとも良いものである。
なお、本実施例では、凸形状8はテアライン9の中央近傍にあまり幅を取らないように設ける。これは、凸形状8が車幅方向に長く設けてしまうと、中央のテアライン9に発生する引っ張り力が弱くなってしまうためである。

In this embodiment, the convex shape 8 is provided in the vicinity of the center of the tear line 9 so as not to have a large width. This is because if the convex shape 8 is provided long in the vehicle width direction, the tensile force generated in the central tear line 9 becomes weak.

また、ヒンジ5が複数個に分かれていることと、ヒンジ5とヒンジ5の間に除肉部4が設定されていることにより、さらにドーム型への変形を補助している。
また、除肉部4はヒンジ5とヒンジ5との間のインナー3の平面部のみに設けているが、中空状の凸形状8自体に前後方向に沿って溝状の除肉部4を設けるようにすれば、さらにドーム型への変形を補助することになる。
このことにより、扉中央部のテアライン9の中心に引き裂きの応力がかかり、扉のテアライン9が円滑に開裂し、スムーズなエアバッグ10の展開を行うことができるものである。
