Description
はじめに、本発明の実施の形態1に係る光操作装置である波長選択光スイッチ装置について説明する。図1、図2は、本実施の形態1に係る波長選択光スイッチ装置10の概略構成を示すブロック図である。なお、図1は、xyz座標系のx軸方向正の向きから見たものであり、図2は、y軸方向正の向きから見たものである。図1に示すように、この波長選択光スイッチ装置10は、コリメータアレイ1と、光スイッチである空間光変調器アレイ2と、集光素子である集光レンズ3と、偏波操作素子4と、光分散素子である回折格子5と、アナモルフィック光学系6とを備えている。なお、この波長選択光スイッチ装置10に入力または出力される光は特に限定されないが、たとえば波長1520〜1620nmの光通信用の信号光である。なお、空間光変調器アレイ2はアレイ状に配列された4つの空間変調器からなっていてもよいし、一つの空間変調器を4つの領域に分割してそれぞれの領域を独立に制御するものもよい。

Claims (12)
- 外部から光が入力される、または外部に光を出力する複数のポートを有する光入出力ポートと、
前記光入出力ポートから入射した光を前記光入出力ポートに向けて出射する、偏波依存特性を有する空間光変調器と、
前記光入出力ポートと前記空間光変調器との間に配置され、前記光入出力ポートと前記空間光変調器と光学的に結合させる集光素子と、
前記集光素子と前記空間光変調器との間に配置され、入力された光の偏波状態を、単一の偏波方向のみからなるように操作して出力する偏波操作素子と、
を備え、
前記集光素子は、前記光入出力ポートから入射した光の光路を屈折させて前記偏波操作素子を介して前記空間光変調器に集光するものであり、
前記偏波操作素子は、前記光入出力ポートから入射した光を互いに直交する2つの直線偏波の光に分離する偏波分離素子と、前記偏波分離素子の前記空間光変調器側に配置された、前記2つの光の偏波方向を同一にして出力するための偏波回転素子とを有することを特徴とする光操作装置。 - 前記空間光変調器は液晶によって光を空間変調するものであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光操作装置。
- 前記空間光変調器はLCOSであることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の光操作装置。
- 前記偏波分離素子は複屈折性材料からなることを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか一つに記載の光操作装置。
- 前記偏波分離素子は方解石またはルチルからなることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の光操作装置。
- 前記偏波分離素子はウォラストンプリズムであることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の光操作装置。
- 前記光入出力ポートと前記集光素子との間に配置され、入力された光の波長成分を分離する光分散素子を備え、前記空間光変調器を用いて前記光分散素子により分離された複数の波長成分を操作することを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれか一つに記載の光操作装置。
- 前記光分散素子は回折格子であることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の光操作装置。
- 前記光入出力ポートと前記光分散素子との間に配置されたアナモルフィック光学系を備えることを特徴とする請求項7または8に記載の光操作装置。
- 前記空間光変調器は光スイッチであることを特徴とする請求項1〜9のいずれか一つに記載の光操作装置。
- 前記空間光変調器は強度変調器であることを特徴とする請求項1〜9のいずれか一つに記載の光操作装置。
- 前記空間光変調器は位相変調器であることを特徴とする請求項1〜9のいずれか一つに記載の光操作装置。
